Okay, no on to the main topic!!!

So the other day, I was learning a little Japanese from Bachan (if you didn't already know, that's grandma, and I've been calling her that since i could talk, so don't just think I'm showing off my bi-lingual skillz) and she told us about honorifics. You all know what those are, right? like "-kun' or "-chan" or "-san" or those things. Well, she told us more than we knew about them, and i'm officially confused. She used to call me sami-chan, and my sister ah-chan or alex-chan (which would actually be "arekusu-chan"), but she doesn't usually do that anymore. Well, she said that chan is for small children, and I thought it was for small children or girls. So now I'm getting WAY confused by anime. she also told us that sama--which, as far as i know, we all thought meant "superior"--actually means superior woman. Which makes me wonder about something: "Orochimaru-sama". I know for a fact that I've heard Kabuto call him Orochimaru-sama, when he should be calling him "Orochimaru-dono". So maybe it's 100% true that Oro and Kabuto are gay together, but who knows? Bachan also said that she'd call us "-san" when we're older, but I thought that was for, like, if you don't know the person so well, or you're just majorly polite. And Bachan has know me since the day I was born, and she is anything but polite, so I don't quite understand anything anymore. If anything, I un-learned some stuff. I HATE THAT!!!!
