*Spoilers*
So this isn't the happiest ending in the world, which is weird because I prefer gumdroppy happy endings myself, but this one fit. It fit the characters, their world, and the fma story. It leaves it up to you to decide whether Ed does indeed return or if he'll throw himself back into his homunculus ridden world and forget her, whether Neve will sit in isolation waiting or if she'll venture out into the world alone. I adore Ed's character, but I also like the way the EdxWinry relationship is developing in the manga. And I've just been a very bad girl was was reading some translations of untranslated books online because I get impatient and want to know how stories end :3. I was also looking up the anime and movie, and I must admit I didn't really like how the endings to those were described. I guess that's why I tend to prefer manga.
I really like Neve's character, I guess I have a soft spot for tough girls, that's why I keep trying to write them, though whether I'm pulling it off well I can't exactly tell. I'm sad I didn't get to develop Deirdre though. Originally I was going to give her a lot more depth (and make this series a lot longer... :3). Maybe I'll try someone like her again, she's very mothering, she thinks her cousin needs loking after and isn't afriad to do or take what she wants. And Mark, like he says he's been a bit cowed by the two girls so he's quieter, and a bit shy.
I also wrote this one in first person, which crops up occasionally on the site. The 'yous' of second person are much more prevelant, a holdover from the site's older, pre-stories, days. But second person does serve to put the reader more into the action while taking away the 3rd person's ability to switch subjects when convenient. If I do another series, it'll be in 3rd person, then I'll have them all covered. lol. Well this was longer than I expected, but I tend to ramble, so I'll stop now.
