"Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure...than to rank with those poor souls who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." Theodore Roosevelt

Hello! Just a few updates on what's happening with me, if anyone cares!
So, in my Social Problems class, we took a big test on a reading assignment. It was on a war-like society in South America called the Yamamamo. The test was all short answer or essay questions. The teacher gave us the whole hour plus ten minutes the next day to do it, and I STILL didn't get to the last few extra credit problems! ARG! But, I still aced it! I got 107 out of 99! YES! I got 3 points taken off on the whole thing and got the high score. The 2nd highest score he said he'd ever had on it! What I don't understand, though, are the people who were done halfway through the hour! Of course, it was that same group of girls who are always gossiping or texting under the desk. One of those girls, Tiffany, really doesn't like me lately. I noticed it in English a couple of weeks ago. We corrected part of a test in class and she handed mine back to me and gave me a really dirty look. I looked at it and saw that I had a 100 in it, but she had drawn a little frowning face in the zeros. I just kinda shrugged and passed it up to Jared. He looked at it and asked why there were sad faces and not happy faces and Tiffany said "I have my effing reasons, ok!" Wow! I wasn't sure what it was about at first. But I've noticed that when we discuss Macbeth in class it is always me, Autumn, and Melissa that answer questions, and everytime I answer right she glares at me. She does that in Social Problems to. So, my friend Andrea and I have come to the conclusion that she's jealous of me because I'm intelligent. WOW! That's kinda depressing, because I bet if she actually took the time to write down notes or read the darn stuff she might know some of it too! Instead she talks in class and parties all weekend. A couple times she's come to school with a hangover! I'm not saying that I'm all studious and always do everything right, because I don't! But I at least try! Anyways! The other person who is annoying me right now is Holly Ann. She's a junior and is 2nd clarinet. I'm first chair, and I know she feels that she should be. We are doing a clarinet quartet for solo and ensemble and the other day there was a section where I was coming in on beat one instead of two and didn't realize it. He told me, and I corrected it. But after that, any time something was little off, she glared at me! What the heck?!?! One mistake, and suddenly everything is my fault! I was so pissed off. After band, I had a lesson with the director on the song and he said I was playing everything right, since I fixed the problem with coming in early. The only thing I needed to work on were putting in more of the stacatto's and accent markings! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHRRRRRRGG! Plus, she always brags about everything! This year she got into State Band and she always brought it up. Everytime I sat down she whipped out her music and started practicing. She'd talk about how hard the material was. Wow. Impressive. I know that, because I went LAST YEAR! DUH! And I've been an alternate twice! The reason I didn't get in is because they try to get different people all the time. How dense can you get? And beside, if she wants to see hard music, she should see the music I have to work on for Dorian!! Jeeze! Anyways. Done ranting now.
