Helter..Skelter's Journal

January 3, 2008

Ah. The Lumping! The Goth!

This journal post has nothing to do with the lumpy pancakes that I just made other than this paticular sentence. When one is sleep deprived and has a 10:30 PM pancake attack, they don't tend to be the best pancakes you'll ever eat.

I keep reading the word goth on here and it's pissing me off. Not because I dislike 'goths', but purely because no one around here (well, there are obvious exceptions such as Socialistfreak) know what the hell they're talking about.

Now, having friends of family and relatives alive and very much involved in the scene, I can tell you this much. Goth started in the very late seventies and eighties in England. Those mohawked kids were starting to die out, and their black-clad brethen were starting to pop up. One historical place for this new goth thing, was a club called the Bat Cave (yes, think Batman). If I remember correctly, bands like The Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees got started there.

The sound of Goth Rock is carried through overdriven and electric sounding guitars that play long notes and ring out. The drumming usually uses a repetative snare beat to kind of propel song. And Goth Rock is home to some of the maddest sounding bass you will ever hear Minus my opinion on the bass, the two above paragraphs are all fact.

So now we know what Goth Rock sounds like, and what a goth is, let me quickly tell which bands are not goth. I'm so sick of seeing this.

- H.I.M. I love them, I really do. According to them, they are 'love metal'. It's more alternative than anything else, there is nothing goth about them.
- Evanescence. Moderately soft rock if anything. The only 'goth' thing about them is Amy Lee's wardrobe which can probably be purchased from Hot Topic
- Cradle of Filth. Just ask Maeniel about this one (oh the lulz).
- Slipknot and KoRn. That's Nu-metal. Not Goth Rock.
- Goth metal is obviously not goth rock.
- Dark Ambient is not goth rock.
- Marilyn Manson. Smart man but no. That is Shock Rock, with touches of metal in some songs.
- My Chemical Romance. I hope I don't have to explain that one.

Goth is not emo.
Not emo in the modern sense, or the actual emo sense (Rites of Spring, Indian Summer).

For an actual goth band, please refer to Bauhaus.
They are considered the pioneers of Goth Rock.
I strongly recommend the song 'Bela Lugosi's Dead'.
I also very much recommend the 69 Eyes, who are one of my favourite bands ever. Aside from their earlier albums which are rather decent glam (such a thing exists), they are Goth rock and they are brilliant.

I keep reading about how people are going to 'turn goth'. Or are already goth because they wear a lot of black, love Evanescence and have dyed their hair black. That is not goth, that's more 'hottopiccore' than anything else. Also known as 'retarted' (yes, with a 't'). This is like explaining how Simple Plan aren't punk.

I am well aware that I sound like a know-it-all-bitch, but Goth Rock is a style of music that I'm very passionate about, and after Sleaze Pop (Bloodhound Gang), it's probably my favourite genre and I get very flustered and annoyed when people make mistakes with it.

Moving on, Goth Rock sounds nothing like actual 'emo' music or the modern crap the big companies are selling you these days. Stop lumping them together, for the love of Nergal. Please! Just stop it.

Woe is the Emo?

Ever since Kelly has left, this place has really gone to the dogs. You damn, one minded bastards.

Everywhere, I'm hearing complaints about people who don't like emo kids. I don't like 'emo', so someone is probably going to try and report me for having my own opinion. Either way, I feel like I need to say something.

I keep reading how 'emo isn't a stereotype, it's EMOtional music.'
Now, last I checked, doesn't most music display emotion? Sad, angsty, teenaged bullshit isn't the only type of emotion. Let us examine The Sex Pistols. There was emotion in that music, they were mad and snarky.
Depeche Mode have emotional music.
Rancid are emotional.
Johnny Cash is emotional.
Eminem, believe it or not, is emotional.
The greater majority of all music has some form of emotion in it. That's why different people relate to different music, different emotions.

Also, in reguards to the meaning of 'emo', we must also take into account that the meaning of a word changes over time. Rewind a couple hundred of years and the term 'gay' would've referred to being 'merry' and/or 'happy' (for more references to old English, refer to 'The Lord of the Rings' - J.R.R. Toilken and all works of Shakespeare) These days, the term 'gay' usually refers to a homosexual male but for some reason is used a derogatry insult as well.

In the '80s 'emo' supposedly referred to more angsty punk music. These days, 'emo' refers to whineyeliner teens who get upset over everything and are very one sided and hate 'preps'. Argue with me all you want, but have you ever taken the time to actually read what half of you say? Talking about heartbreak, and being bullied and cutting and getting defense.
In other words, you have made life incredibly difficult for people such as myself who are maniac depressive. This is why I dislike your standard 'emo'. Everyone is depressed these days. Everyone is suffering. Fuck that, some people actually *do* have problems that extend a bit more from differences of opinions.

So, why do you youngin's get so upset when someone doesn't like emo? Why all the Nazi behaviour? Why do you constantly attack people with different opinions, like the mean 'preps' or whatever it is these days that make you cry. I've read claims of preps driving emo kids to kill themselves. Is that the fault of the 'prep' or the 'emo' who didn't seek help like any smart person would. I never was too fond of death, but I swear, we need to use the buffalo theory with some of you (google it).

Another point I should probably raise is that all stereotypes have a basis of truth. I know that not all emo kids cut, or are depressed. You'd have to be serverely challanged to be that stupid, I happen to know of happy 'emo' kids in their tight jeans who love life. Unfortunately, they have also admitted they simply like the style of emo, which in the eyes of some, makes them 'not true' (much how a metal band might not be Kvlt enough, but I think only Maeniel will get that and I don't know if he'll even be reading this. If you are, Hii *waves*) As I was saying, despite that not all emo kids cut and are depressed, the majority are. Otherwise, people wouldn't make assumptions in reguards to their congnitive health, see. Take for example that I'm English. The stereotype is that my family and I lounge around all day drinking tea, and talking about cricket. Though I'm more prone to cracking my knuckles and drinking beer, the greater majority of my family do lounge around and drink tea. Whereas I don't follow this 'stereotype' that has been bestowed on my culture, the majority of my family do, which is some evidence that all stereotypes do have a basis of truth.

So, I don't care how you dress, or what music you listen to. I do think it's pathetic how much a lot of users on this former great site whinge and bitch and moan about nothing, about things they don't understand. Everybody stereotypes and labels. Primal instincts. You have them for a reason. I recall reading some journal, the name of the user escapes me, but she said how if you were walking through an alley at night and saw a shady guy with a trench coat, you'd probably label him as dangerous. I agree with her. If you're at the mall and you see a girl with her midriff showing and a pink handbag hanging off her arm with a cellphone glued to her ear, most of you would label her as a prep. You might do this aloud, or subconciously. The point is, everyone labels, though some do it subconciously and claim that they don't label. Unfortunately, they are wrong. If you knew you didn't label, you wouldn't of even thought about it. You'd just do it automatically without questioning. That is human nature. As humans, we're all awful hypocrites and we all label. Trust me on this children, I've studied this long and hard and talked to a couple of sociologists, everybody labels. Accept this and move on.

I hope some of you will read this, and at least think about it before attacking me. This is my opinion, this is life. Grow a nice hard shell and get on with it. Stop whinging so much, and pay attention to other peoples opinons. You'll learn a lot from a clashing personality.

So Today I met Bam [I'm Gonna Be On TV!]

Bam Margera was doing a signing down in Manly today with Tosh Townsed and Josh Rio. Naturally I went.
5 hours in beating hot sun in a Bloodhound Gang jumper. Lots of skaters.
When I was right next to Bam I almost passed out.
Bam and Tosh had been knocking back Coronas since about two o'clock. They were really drunk. Tosh had vomitted onto his food that someone then ate.

Not to be outdone, I grabbed Bams arm, and I'll put it this way.
What I did next led Bam to give me the nick name 'Puke Eater' the next day (I got to meet him twice, and I got to kiss him. Be jealous). After getting a camera in my face, He then hugged me and presented me to the crowd. I burried my face in his neck and tried to steal his 69 Eyes pendant.

In short, I'm going to be on 'All Eyes on Bam' documentary which will be airing on Mtv later this year. I've also been mentioned in two interviews.

I did meet Bam again today and such, he remembered me, have a list of good quotes and got a photo, but I can't be bothered to discuss it.

Ode To Emo Haters

For anyone who stuck with their anti-emo beliefs even when they were called 'a toal fukin bithc!!1111' for it. For anyone who loves to poke fun at stupid people, no matter mean they may be. For anyone who loves to laugh at crappy attempts at poetry. For anyone who has ever fantasied about playing kickball with an emo kid. For anyone who got worried when this site suddenly went ass-about-face and became infested. For anyone who cried from laughter at most of the journal posts on here. For anyone who bought a 'cheer up emo kid' shirt the second they could. For anyone who can't watch Mtv without crying because the music is so bad. For anyone who knows what a good story is. For anyone who despises emo with ALL of their intelligent little hearts. For anyone who is nodding at this in agreement. For anyone who knows what real music sounds like. For anyone who wants to go to shitty concerts just to bottle the bands. For anyone who wanted to meet these shitty bands just to smack them. For anyone who wants to say 'I hope you die' without any remorse. For anyone who is sick of hearing about broken hearts and ex boyfriends. For anyone who can honestly say that Gerard Way is married and I don't give a shit.. For anyone who gets exited when someone says "Emo sucks". For anyone who says  I hate melodramatic teenagers with pride, and with honesty. For anyone who wont repost this because we already have so much fucking chain mail ruining this site, among other things. For anyone who has had a relative say, "Please, rub my back!" For anyone who rants loudly when walking down the street. For anyone who agrees with the ranting perosn. For everyone smart enough to see through a stupid marketing trend for whinging teenagers! DON'T REPOST IT! Too much crap on here already *shakes head*

And In other news. I'm meeting Bam Margera on Saturday. Hannah is a happy, happy camper. I don't think I could put how I feel into words. This is like Kelly meeting Sid Vicious.

Let's Face the Truth; Collectively, We Suck

No meaningless introduction describing the weather, food and music.

We are the generation that have lost all originality. We are the people that are very hard to seperate. We all want the same hair style, we all want the same jeans, we all want the same accesories so therefore, we all look the same.

Incidentally, we are the generation with perhaps the lowest collective intelligence this side of the 50's. Some of us are under the impression that high school stereotypes will exist when have completed our education.

We are the girls that either can't shut our legs, our constantly slag out these types of girls. There is no grey area. We are the girls that are either 'totally nice' or 'the biggest bitch eva!'.

They are the boys that are constantly staring at our chests, and the others are more respectful. No grey area.

We have become the extremes, we have eliminated the in between. We're the kids that think My Chemical Romances song 'Teenagers' is original. Despite the fact that it is catchy (don't kill me Kelly, I have to listen to it constantly at work), it's been done before, 57 years ago. For some reason, we think that "Rich Girl" by Gwen Stefani is her own work, and not a song from Fiddler on the Roof. (Changed to fit her perspective).

We are the people that think masturbation is disgusting and so dirty to talk about. We are the generation that have no clue that at this very moment there are people currently masturbating with synthetic kangaroo penises. We are the generation that cant bring themselves to type the word 'vagina' without feeling a little sickened. For some reason, no one wants to say the word 'penis'. It is just a boys 'ahem'.

Wake up. We're fucking idiots. I know that there a very select few of us that obviously don't fall under any of this, and I salute you. But most kids, especially on this website, are pathetic.

The kids that think metal is 'safe'. The kids that 'love the sex pistols, there mi fav band' yet get confused when you mention the name 'John Lydon'. The kids that think emo is cool. The hypocritical bastards that claim they don't label. 'don't label me, it's stoopid. labelz are for soup cans'. Everyone labels. Having actually studied the whole process myself, I can safely say this.
Yes. Labels go on a lot more things than soup cans. This is so we can tell them apart. It's simple to avoid your problem you little cunts. Stop dressing like a social stereotype.  Your opinion of yourself is not going to change what other people think of you. Harden the fuck up, or you are going to get slaughtered. It's so simple.

Why are we so stupid. What made us this way. Why can't do most of us fail to get our heads around the simpliest of things. Different opinions, freedom of speech. Dislikes. Why is it so hard to grasp.

They really should introduce the buffalo theory into society. The theory is thus, a herd of buffalo is only as fast as its slowest buffalo. Kill the slowest buffalo, and the herd gets faster. Maybe it's time that we do a little back burning on society.

Well, No One Else Has Said It ...

Come gather round children,
About high time ye learned.
About a hero named Homer
and a Devil named Burns.

Note: No, the Simpsons have nothing to do with this post.

Being the 'bitter old sod' that I am, it's natural that I hate lots of things (to be blunt). I'm choleric and cynical, so fuck you. Normally, I strive to be as open minded as possible. However, I'm far too lazy to go to such an effort today, so I feel I must rant.

Mall goffs. Goffola. Goffolata. Goffole, other parphrased and changed  to fit my perspective quotes from a Little Britain skit. I'm sorry, but 'Mall goffs' are right up there on 'the list' (yes, the list, not just any ordinary list) with emo and 'diet punkers' as far as irritating things unintelligent teenagers and chain stores have created (or ITUTCSHC for short). Now, this dear old website has gone from the days of a simple white and blue layout with the 'You're visiting Quizilla? Shame on you!' Days *sniffles* Yes, I remember those days vividly. This site has become a parody of its once great self. Look at the content that it is filled with. Though it's hypocritical of me to say, because it's already been done, but where the hell is the originality?
Aside from the far too common pests of 'emo' and "punk?", this site has also become home to a breed that I personally detest with most fibres in my body. Mall Goth. You may not be familiar with them, so allow me to elaborate.

Identifying the Mall Goth;
The Mall Goth is a cheap rip off of everything 'proper Goth'. When most people claim that emo is a rip off of Goth, the mall goth is normally the 'goth' that they are thinking of. Which in turn makes 'emo' worse then what I'm about to describe. The thoughts and views of what 'proper goth' is, is obviously unique to each person. For me, it is summarised by dinky clubs in Britain, Bauhaus, assorted New Wave artists, and using the body as a canvas. Obserse the difference between what I just described, and the Mall Goth.

Appearance: Tripp NYC Pants. Also known as Raver pants, purely for the fact that they are very popular in the underground Rave scene (Techno and ecstasy). For some reason, the Mall Goth is often clad in this, more then likely because it is sold in Hot Topic. Marilyn Manson tee-shirts are also very popular in this scene, Mall Goths are often fooled into thinking that our friend Brian Warned started the scene. I shudder to think what Ian Curtis, Robert Smith and Peter Murphy would think about this. Marilyn Manson may be shocking to the older generation, but come on. The shock value is wearing off. Though I am very much a fan of his music and overall intellectual style, he is not the first artist to have a girls name. He is not the first man to wear make up. He is not the offspring of Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson. On a side note, stop pretending you know the 'real' Manson is. He will forever be 'no name Maddox' *shifty eyes*. Let us not forget the generic black hoodies. Both genders often do the whole 'bad makeup thing'. There is a very large differential between looking beautiful, in line with your nose. Black lipstick hardly suits anyone. There is no point going for the whole 'I make a sheet of A4 paper look off coloured' look (unless it is Halloween). Thus we have standard Mall Goth clothes and make up.

Attitude: I have found that most of these kids are snotty brats who sneer a lot. But not Johnny Rotten-esque sneer. It's a sneer caused by the belief that they are shocking and scaring people. The belief that they are truly alternative. My deepest sympathies to their collective intelligence. Then they come clambering over to you and ask how 'death metal' you think Slipknot are. I'm sure only Maenial would find that funny, but no matter. Let's not forget the arrogancy. I'm all a fan of being arogant. In fact, I find something attractive about it. But the right amount. Too much is fail.

Music Tastes: marylyn mason dimmuborgir cardle of flith slipknot stone sour murderdolls wensday 13 evanescene birfday masacuh korn

Common Mistakes:
These are the kids that think 666 is the number of the devil.
666 is the number of the beast! This is even more irritating when the people who make this mistake clima to love Iron Maiden. The beast is not the devil. Learn this. For all future reference, the number of the devil is 616. Incidentaly, a Mall Goth can often be indentified on the internet by the consant reoccurance of 666 in their username.
Believe it or not, 'Jesus Is a Cunt' shirts have lost their appeal. Most don't even know what the word 'cunt' refers to.

There we have a Mall Goth. Horrible creatures. Something always comes along to ruin alternative lifestyles. Simple Plan and the masses with green hair ruined punk, My Chem ruined the original 'emo' music. The faggots with combat boots and Manson shirts ruined the umbrella of 'Gauthexuness'. I cannot get my head around them. The stupidity of it all.

I recently saw a documentary called 'Punks Not Dead'. A truly brilliant piece of art that is was. There was a very good quote in there, though I can't remember who said it. I think it may have been the extremely talented and beautiful Dexter Holland (from the Offspring, who are fasting joining the Bloodhound Gang on my list of 'all time favourite bands' list. Do not threat, the lists I often mention in this post are metaphorical. I do not keep a bunch of lists lying around).
'That stuff's not scaring your mom. She's the one that took you to get that piercing and hair dye. Hell, she paid for those clothes'.

Before I do wrap this up, I do need to add the other part. Don't comment about how I should be silenced if I have offended you, and how I shouldn' tbe able to say what I think. I can voice my opinion, and I suggest that you go fuck yourself if you can't come to terms with this. I hope your hand falls asleep on you *shakes fist*.

Note: Go and watch Kevin and Perry Go Large. It's a brilliant English comedy about two boys whom are desperate to lose their virginity and become world reknowned DJs. It's based on the club scene, but even if you don't like techno music, this movie is absolutely fucking hilarious. They try to find their fortunes in Ibiza. Go and watch it, fucko.
All I wanna do is do it.

P.S. Mall goths suck.
- Bacon is annoying.
- Constantly cooking 10:1 patties is annoying
- files are annoying
- BMC. Fucking BMC
- Quit ordering burgers with nothing in them! It's very irritating to run around and fix up your order, you bastards. The customer is always right until I say otherwise. Keep ordering your confusing meals and I shall speak up.
- Order more deli choices. They're funner to make.
- I obviously got a job at McDonalds. This is an Australian McDonalds. Our large is the equivilent to the American medium. Our Extra Large is equal to your large. Extra large is where it ends for us. It isn't as bad down here. It was so much of a cultural shock for me when I went to America, got a six pack of nuggets and also recieved about nine complimentary sachets of tomato sauce (or ketchup, take your pick). Being me, I obviously stomped on them for amusement. Why so much sauce man?
- Abusing the coke machines is the most fun I've had in ages.

That is all. Have fun young malchicks and devotchkas. Aunty Hannah is going to viddy A Clockwork Orange. If only she had her droogs here along with some moloko plus ...

I Have Found New Hereos!

I think that prehaps only sweet-opium-nightmares will know who "The Chaser Boys" are.
'The Chasers War On Everything' is a show based purely on political satire. I've been watching religiously since some point last year. You may of heard of them in reguards to sneaking through the APEC security (which Australians had to cough up the cash for). By clever use of the Canadian flag, fake passes (which clearly stated that the passes were fake, and that the people holding them were from the TV show) and expensive looking black cars, they managed to get past two security check points. One person even had a little handi-cam that he was blatantly flaunting. Deciding that the security was pathetic enough, Chas jumped out of a flashy black car dressed as Osama.

I think about 19 people in total got arrested over this. But still, it was fucking brilliant.

The show this week was absolutely brilliant, I suggest you go hunting for them on youtube. They've taken the piss out of everything, from John Howard to Cannibal Corpse (the government tried to ban CC from coming to perform in the country, due to violent lyrics).

I cried upon watching the video that the above shot is from. In fact, I think I cried a total of three times during the show (from laughter of course). They managed to fit a little 'emo' segment in, pushing people to wash their clothes using 'Emo' (which featured Andrew Hansen posing as Gerard Way). Unfortunately, my computer is refusing to screen cap anything, however, I can link you to the video in question.

http://www.abc.net.au/tv/chaser/war/video/default.htm Select the one titled 'emo' obviously. (Such a shame, Andrew is usually very attractive)

I honestly cannot stress how funny and intelligent these boys are though. I must force you to all go and hunt for them on youtube. There is still hope left in Australia, there could be hope left all over the world. Maybe the collective intelligence of humans isn't dropping as radically as we all seem to think. I must admit, I am impressed.

*Casually Smacks Head On Desk*

It's a fairly decent day. The sun is shining through the thick clouds in a half-assed manner, I'm listening to good music and I coughed up a tonne of assignments at school today, so there's a lot of pressure off my shoulders. What could possibly be bothering me?

The morons on this website of course (Suprise =D)

In true Quizilla fashion, there is no original content in journals (well, that's a very broad statement, I shall fix it). "There is no original content in journals with the tag of 'emo'. The exceptions of course being TheBestPyschoEver, sweet-opium-nightmares, PyschoMermaid, xxSatansAngelxx, Maeniel and damn it, the smart people know who they are. Smart people aren't the point though, it's the 'not-so-smart' people that are giving me the shits, as they say.

War. War is *generally* a bunch of countries trying to kill each other because of different views, treaties, agreements etcetera. Most wars have a lot of religious input. War is a very serious thing. Thousands of lives are taken in a war. People step on the wrong piece of ground and they lose their legs. Bodies are hauled off the battle fields on poorly constructed stretchers. Friends have to carry their dead mates off somewhere, they get covered in their best friends blood. This brings me to my next point *clears throat*

A BUNCH OF FUCKTARDED ANGSTY TEENAGERS COMPLAINING ABOUT PREPS, WHILE THE PREPS DO THE SAME THING, IS NOT WAR! GET THAT THROUGH YOUR FUCKING HEADS. SHUD I TYP LYK DIS? WIL DIS GET DA POINT ACROZ? UR NOT A PART OF A WAR U FUKN MORONS!1111

Preps are not 'Hitler'. Labels will not lead the the next holocaust. Do you even know what the hell the holocaust was? You all casually throw the word around. Let me tell you one thing. Charlie Manson does not rule the world, there will be no more gas chambers. You damned kids are talking about a very serious issue, flaunting pretend knowledge from your tight little asses. If need be, I'll run to the hill tops and scream until you get the point.

Harden.

The.

Fuck.

Up.

This how it goes. There will always be someone who doesn't like you. Get over it. If you can't handle the reactions you get from being 'emo' then don't dress 'emo' anymore. The fact that you look like Hot Topic just puked on gives most people a certain feeling about you. It's logical. Take the time to think about it;

You promote the image of 'emo', you will get called 'emo'.

Stop getting offended, or change your dress style.
It's soo simple, and yet you're still complaining and whining as if Hitler had just been elected again. Another thing, Hitler was not stupid. I don't agree with anything he did in the slightest, but he certainly wasn't stupid. "Back then" you had to have brains to get into politics (obviously these days anyone can be a politician, refer to that bloke from Midnight Oil and Arny Schwartza ... negga?). Hitler did have brains, a lot more then you do.

Now, if things are bothering *me* so much, then why don't I just get off this sight? Simple really, I'm trying to help you.

All it takes to be happy is the decision to be.

Suprise Inside This Post!

Guess what the suprise is?
Well, you're probably not going to guess correctly anyway. Todays special suprise is an unbiased (for the most part) observation about that word that will probably cause spontaneous combustion among many of you. STEREOTYPES *cure the generic pipe organs and flash of lightning*. Before I begin, I would like to say something. The Cure fucking rock. Take my word for it. Listen to The Cure. If you like, go listen to Depeche Mode and Bauhaus *nods eagerly*. Moving right along ...

'just becoz sum1 wears blak nd has a syd frhinge nd kuts sumtyms duznt mean dat dyer emoz!11!'
Translation: Pardon me, but I'm of the strong opinion that just because a human makes a 'darker' choice in their clothing, shrouds their face behind over grown hair folicles and decides to partake in slicing themselves open (as happily as you or I would partake in eating chocolate), it doesn't make them 'emo'. (And the funnier part is that the poorly typed version will probably be more logical then the 'intelligent' version).

Note: This is not purely about emo, it's about more stuff *nods*. I'm sure you've noticed there are a very large quantity of people on this website who do not like being labelled. I've said this before, but it must be said again. Most people are more offended by a label than by the following words; cunt,
dipshit,
douche bag,
benighted retard,
prick,
cocksucker,
slut,
whore,
cunt rag,
infected vagina,
rusted cunt flaps,
penis pie,
vaginal residue,
grandpas beastiality fetish,
crusty vagina pie,
Virgin Mary's menstrual fluids,
Your grandmoths menstrual fluids,
Ryan Dunns anus,
profound scrotal trauma,
severe rectum itch,
Compulsory Goat Fellatio.

If I either just offended you, or else made you throw up in your mouth, I am happy. If I made you laugh, you and I must share a cup of tea some time. The point is, most people will find the term 'goth' or 'emo' more insulting than many of the things listed above.

Lets take a look at your STEREOTYPICAL EMO. Tight black jeans, hair parted to the side, poorly applied make up, complains, majority 'cut themselves', the rest complain about their parents. Band shirts. stereotypical emo. Now, there are some people that would be perfectly suited to about 4 of those options.
Why dress 'emo', act like your stereotypical 'emo', claim you like the fashion of 'emo' and then claim that you're not. Why raise the flag if you don't support the nation? Really. Answer that. A logical answer would be nice. I can't really think of that. Put it this way. Picture some who is always in ski gear, talks about skiing non stop, has 30 pairs of skies, but always denies being a 'skiier' because they find it offence. Unlogical? So is dressing like [x] but claiming not to be.

Same thing for 'Goth'. In reality, I hang out with a bunch of 'goths'. Never once have they been offended by the term. But a lot of 'goths' on here do seem to be get offended (which is ever funnier, because they all have the word 'goth' in their username).

So, lets conclude;
The Problem: Don't label me! Just because I do something, doesn't mean I AM something!

The Solution: Don't act enough like a fucking social stereotype to be labelled one then. If you can't take the 'shit' you get from dressing 'against the norm' (which you don't, I might add). Then don't fucking dress that way. It's either that, or toughen up kiddo, the world isn't easy.

HAHAH! Oh God. The hilarity!

I recently commented on a journal about the website VampireFreaks.com. Unfortunately I misunderstood the author. However, I was scrolling through the comments and found something quite funny.

'Helter..Skleter
or whatever
id just like to say to you that 'the whole damn world' does revolve around sterotypes. get over it'

I've been told a lot of stupid things before (My most favourite was being told that Tetris actually influenced some kind of war because it did so well but the communist state of Russia didn't like that).

Of course, this depends on what stereotypes they're talking about (Religious stereotypes, racial stereotypes etcetera). Judging by the fact we were discussing VampireFreaks I think it's fair to say that the author of the comment was talking about 'High School Stereotypes'. Now, the simple term I just used should explain why that comment is so funny. Do you really think that when you're 30 with your steady job and bills to pay that there will be someone at the office who calls you emo? Do think that 'High School Stereotypes' will actually mean anything when you get out of High School and step in to the real world? I really hope the person was refering to the more 'serious' stereotypes. I really hope they were.

I was going to type up my big journal about sex, but upon reading through what I wrote, it really was far too outrageous for even this website. I'll leave you with this great word though

Beastiality.

"State of Mind" My White Naked Ass.

*jumps out from behind trash cans*
Good evening/morning/afternoon/first light/'season of darkness' around the Arctic circle. It's a daily routine in my boring little life to come on this website. At some point I completely forgot as to why I waste my time on here. Then I remembered I came on here for the mostly soul purpose of laughing at idiots (a la my favourite show, Jackass). The difference being Steve-o is hilarious because he does stupid things, whereas the greater majority of this website are hilarious because they are stupid and that's the end of it.

In my usual browsing of randomly selected journals, it's becoming more and more evident that people are claiming that Emo is a 'state of mind'. This, in my opinion of course, is absolute bullshit. Do you even know what 'state of mind' refers to? It refers to someones cognitive thought process. Cognitive thought, or 'cognition' is the process in which you consider your surroundings, perception and make judgements (so don't tell me that you don't judge. You do it subconciously anyway, and no, I didn't copy and paste that). The problem with 'cognitive thought' is that the term is very usely used, so if you do go searching on 't3h interwebz' for it, you may get slightly varying answers. Hopefully you can follow that, because I'm relatively crappy at defining things. Either way, the cognitive process is something sort of complex in the long run.

Basically, there are a lot of people out there trying to tell you that 'emo' is really just a set way of thinking. So, how can a marketing scheme really get that in depth. The same people who are saying that 'emo' is a state of mind are the same people who claim that 'Bush sucks'. Now, if you hated the president, you'd really need to be following politics, right? The kids saying 'Bush sucks' couldn't name another three members of ... congress? (I live in Australia, and I'm not up-to-date with my American words). Or five government related people, the problem increases for these kids because Aunty Mary who works at the DMV doesn't count. The same problem is with 'Global Warming is NOT cool'. You do know that Global Warming was evident before Green Day (God bless them) told you so, right? You're also aware that the Earth has gone through some pretty rough times. A supposed meteorite shower so drastic that it whiped out Satan-knows how many species of overgrown lizards. You also remember the brief period in which Earth was a popsicle (a period called the Ice Age). The Earth, can adapt. There's no doubt about it (of course one must admit that those problems were from nature and it is evidently humans that are killing the Earth). Pardon me, I am getting off topic. Returning to 'Emo' (no, even I can't believe that as opposed to talking about a serious problem I'm going to keep talking about 'emo'. If anyone wants me to list a bunch of the worlds problems and talk about serious issues, I may look in to it). I did claim back up there somewhere that Emo is a marketing scheme. Now, I know that's probably pissed a lot of people off. So instead of just making a statement (which I strongly believe is only for the 'ignorant fuckheads') I'm going to provide evidence.

Reasons that I believe 'Emo' is a marketing scheme for the weak;
- You have chain stores (Hot Topic mainly) that sell you standard emo gear. You can buy badges that say 'Kiss Me, I'm Emo', 'I love Emo Boys', etcetera. Things put in Hot Topic are there for the purpose of being sold. This is why Hot Topic changes its 'gear' frequently. Remember when Green Day were dominating the charts and everyone on this website was claiming to be 'a tru punk! fuk da poser punx11!!three11!!' Now everyone is 'emo' or wants to be. It then makes perfect sense to stock your stores with clothes affiliated with 'emos' because it will sell and fast. A store that was truly 'about the music' would stock more then 'alternative mainstream' CDs. Cradle of Filth may not be played on the radio, but a lot of people still know their name. Dimmu Borgir might not be on Mtv, but people have still heard 'of' them, hence the term 'alternative mainstream'. Think of it this way. Hot Topic is the cow-like Bitch of Gap. Hot Topics udder is filled with the 'emo' goodness of marketing. When 'emo' dies down, the cow will then be fed special grass by Gap and will start producing lovely milk flowing with [insert the next fad].

- In the music industry, there are two really easy ways to make money;
- Write songs about how much 'Bush sucks'
- Part your hair over one eye, get a friend to kick your testicles back into your body so your voice rises, force your new 'small testicles' into a pair of tight jeans, pick up a guitar and write songs about a girlfriend who you probably never had. SHAZAM! Instant music success. There will be little 12-14 year old girls everywhere, discovering masturbation and doing it to pictures of you. Mtv while try to hire you as their bitch. Different brands will be sending you their products and ask you to endorse them. Being 'emo' sells so well. If you can really pull off 'emoness' everyone wants a piece of you, because you'll generate tonnes of money not only for you and your testice-less buddies, but major coporations
- 'Metal/Punk/Emo' is a standard label at your record stores. Emo has to be selling quite well.

I could go on, but I think I've typed enough for now. I'm actually off to start a new journal post inspired by the Pyschos latest.

To finish up. Emo isn't a 'state of mind'. It's a way to generate money for all of the big companies that you're rebelling against (but by all means, if you can give me reasons as to why it isn't, please post them here. I'm quite interested to hear them. However, don't bother if you're not going to type properly). You are not tragic and misunderstood. Sonny Moore probably doesn't care that you can 'relate' to him so well. In fact a proper 'emo' (y'know, 'Emo' from that brief period in the 80's that we know everything about despite being born in the 90's and we don't know who Depeche Mode and The Cure are) is probaly disgraced at the way the word is being thrown around these days. Just like how I get pissed off when someone says Goth and people think Marilyn Manson instead of Bauhaus. Thus concludes Hannahs long-as-the-seven-hells rant.

Simple Lessons They Should Be Teaching You [Rating for Language]

Ah my children, it's a lovely Saturday night. The weather is good, I'm perched on my chair, eating delicious thai food and tapping my feet joyfully to The Living End (a great band from Melbourne, nice Rock'n'Roll sound). However, there is something bothering me. A couple of things actually;
1) Why is the 'Most Popular Quizzes' list being utterly dominated by 'Naruto: Spin the Bottle!'? Now, I'm all for a decent anime, but I find Naruto to be hideously over-rated. Uchiha Sasuke is a ficticious character. Please accept this.
b) I'm allergic to some medication I'm taking. For those who are wondering, I was recently in hospital for a sinus operation, I was put on medicine upon coming out and it's given me an awful rash on my back. Looks awfully gross, good for shock value though =)
c) emo and a failure to accept simple things

I was just reading a journal, the name of the author escapes me, but she was bitching about an anti-emo poem that someone had composed, saying that the author of this poem shouldn't be able to express such anti-emo views.
Grow the fuck up. Simple =) Now. Because I'm bored, finished the aforementioned thai food, and in a writing mood, I've decided to compile a bunch of lessons that most of us should learn, ASAP.

Lesson One: Dressing 'differently
If you dress 'differently' (at this point I should prehaps mention that I do not consider tight jeans, a studded belt and awfully applied panda eyes with pink (A la Bert McCraken) 'alternative' or 'different' in the slightest) You will get 'crap' from other people because of it Why? Why would someone be so mean? I'm not entirely sure myself, but my theory is as follows; 'Because they can be'. Some people just say things. That's their opinion. Learn to accept this. You don't have to take someone elses 'crap' though. You choose to be offended by it. 'Consider the source'. Do you really care what some 'fuckhead' has just yelled at you? Does their worthless opinion really trouble you that much?

Lesson Two: Different Opinions: People have different opinions. Let's say you love [x] ('x' in this case representing anything of your liking). Despite how passionately you may feel about [x] there is always going to be someone who despises [x]. Just because [x] means a lot to you, it does not mean that it's totally wrong and offending is someone expresses their hatred for it. I don't like 'emo', so what are you going to do? Complain about how I shouldn't be able to express my view? There is always going to be someone who has a totally different opinion to you. Just because you don't agree doesn't give you permission to virtually attack them with horrible grammar and even more appauling spelling. This is another simple part of life. Accept that some people don't think exactly like you do, and shut the fuck up. Simple really.

Lesson Three: Individuality On the outside, no one is an individual. Just because someone dresses to what society accepts as 'normal' does not mean they are any more, or any less of an individual then you. I'm of the opinion that our minds and thoughts, 'the inside', are what really define us as our own people. Stop attacking people because you're 'different' and they're a 'sheep' (unless of course, you have strong evidence that supports both your individuality and the other persons apparent lack of).

Final Lesson: Stereotypes Stereotypes are a part of sociology. For those 'dimmer' ones of us who are prehaps scratching our heads wondering what the big word is, I'll let the experts explain. So-ci-o-lo-gy
- noun
the science or study of the origin, development, organization, and functioning of human society; the science of the fundamental laws of social relations, institutions, etc.

Taking note that the keyword in that passage is ORGANIZATION. One thing to remember about stereotypes, is that they are just a loose generalization. I'd like to take a moment to thank the brainless 'fuckheads' that constantly remind us that 'not all [stereotype] do [certain action]11!11!1!!!roflcopter!111snapekillsdumbledore11!. Also, stereotypes are just a part of high school. They don't mean anything when you step in to the real world. It's absolutely pitiful, the way some of you act. More people on this website are offended by the word 'emo' then one of my favourite words, 'CUNT'. This could have something to do with not knowing the meaning of the word however ... Prove the stereotypes placed on your shoulders wrong. Quit your bitching and actually do something. Honestly, some of you are worse then the 'celebutards' (Full props to TheBestPyschoEver for the word) that rant about climate change and raise awarness, then do absolute bugger shit to help. You bitch about stereotypes and do jack shit to actually prove some of them wrong. Keep in mind that all stereotypes do have a basis of truth. Change this basis.

And finally;
Assorted Notes:
- An effort to accept and learn the above lessons will make life so much easier, life is easier if you are more tolerant.
- Devise decent comebacks. Always be prepared.
- If it exists, there is porn of it.
- Cyber abuse is frequent if you can't spell properly. Welcome to the internet toots.
- ppl wil not take u srsly if u typ lyk sum1 hu has jst hd a stroak nd is slowlee bein rehabillitatd to spel agin.

Thus concludes my Quizilla thoughts for today. If I have in anyway angered you, I'm extremly satisfied.

Pee.Ess. The more you hate it, the more powerful it becomes. Unless you go around it the right way =]

Starting Points and Stereotypes

I'm bored, it's school holidays for me and I've got nothing better to do then sit here and laugh at the majority of you.

There has been a bit of dispute of posers around here lately. On the journey of becoming your own person, you have to start somewhere. Prehaps by copying someone else. In my eyes, a poser is someone who tries to liken themselves to a group of people or a few select individuals. Tries to become a clone of these people, as opposed to becoming their own person. Sure, it's okay to be inspired by certain aspects of people, but to go out of your way to 'be' them is just ridicolous. And as for the 'alternative' (I have to use the little symbols as I don't believe any of the shit labeled 'alternative' today is 'alternative' in the slightest way. Alternative is meant to refer to an alternative style of music that differs from the current mainstream. Having said that, Fall Out Boy, From First To Last and the like are then not 'alternative' in my eyes) music scene goes, we all need to start somewhere.
I love my metal. My starting point was Slipknot. Nu-Metal. Now, some of the educated metalheads on here would chuckle at that. But we need to start somewhere. Slipknot are very mainstream metal, and probably got a lot of people into the music they like today. From Slipknot came the Muderdolls (brief Joey Jordison obsession. A lot of us go through it ;] ) and Wednesday 13. From there, Cradle of Filth and Trivium surfaced. "Nymphetamine (Fix)" and "Pull Harder On the Strings of Your Matyr" sealed the deal. They completely threw me into this kind of music and the 'scene' associated with it. Fast foward a couple of years and I wince when I think of my former self. My 'thing' for slipknot was unhealthy man. Very much so. I thought they were just 'THE' metal band. I've learnt since then. No one tops Behemoth, Dissection and Pyscroptic. Of course, I know my 'journey' of sorts isn't over yet (though I've done a lot of things in a year and a half that one would normally do over a space of a few years, and I blame my bastard friends for corrupting me xD), and I'll probably look back on myself two years from now and puke, I'm pretty happy with where I am with myself at the moment.

Having said all that, no one on this site was the epitomy of 'emo' when they crawled out of their mothers cunt (If you were offended by my use of that word, pull your head out of your ass before it shoots out through your stomach). So before you start having a go at the younger 'emo' people on here and start shouting the rules of Emo from the roof tops, take a second to think about what YOU used to be like. I know it's frustrating and some people on here are very benighted and border-line retarded, but just give them a push in the right direction instead of getting down each others virtual throats.

I look foward to the day when some of you look back and kick yourself for ever caring so much about something as stupid as stereotypes.
'zomg dey dont tink im emo!11!11!'
The human race is a funny one, one filled with a very deep line of hypocrisy. Accepting this is the best way to get over it. No one could really give two shits if you don't think you're 'emo'. Seriously, no one cares. Let them have their own opinion. There's no point arguing about individuality when you're not going to let other people think for themselves. Just nod your head and smile, knowing that you're right instead of complaining about it.

For anyone who's wondering where I disappeared to, I've been on holiday for a week, got back late on Thursday, bummed around with a mate on Friday, went to the city and then got hammered at another friends yesterday and the first hours of today, and have since tried to navigate myself home, kind of tipsy, had a shower and came on here. Fun times. My legs are itchy.

This wraps up todays brief rant that no one will take into account -shrugs-

RIP Chris Benoit

What's that? Hannah watches the wrestling. Despite how weird it may be, Yes, I was a wrestling fan. I kind of got bored of John Cena though, so I stopped watching it. The F-U and STFU does get very tiresome.

I was very suprised when I logged on to MSN today to see my friend had changed his name 'RIP Chris Benoit' WWE champion .. etc. Dreading what had happened, I opened up a new window. My homepage had a big picture of Benoit and the caption said something about a homocide probe after Benoit and his immediate family had been found dead in their home. Though I'm in absolute denial about it, Chris Benoit appears to be dead.

Benoit was actually my favourite, right next to Randy Orton. And Eddie Guerrero as it would happen, but we all know what happened to him. So this is just my little way of saying 'cheers' to the Rabid Wolverine.

What can I say? Have a good one Chris.

Hannah Answers Some Common Questions

So, we've all read this set of questions, and I've answered them before, but on a different webite. This is MY point of view on the matter, and having a go at me will only amuse me.

Isnt it funny that when you go to the shops with your friends you look down at the girl with black jeans and studs but smile at the girl wearing a a mini with a tshirt that barely cover anything? I don't really go to these 'shops' that you speak of, and if I do, I'd look down at both people. I'm a narcist, what are you going to do about it?

Isnt it funny you can change your music taste to impress a guy but when it comes to a girl who likes her own music and her own style, you give her a mouthful? I can't say I've ever done that. Funny how if you're 'normal' then you're listening to someone elses music though.

ISNT IT FUNNY that a guy can get away with being a gangsta but the emo gets a mouthful from everyone At least 'gangsta' promotes some sense of growth. Though a lot of gangstas from my neck of the woods aren't too popular with everyone

are you laughing? I'm kind of chuckling, yes

Isnt it funny a emo can be quiet all through the week but gets more shit from everyone than the girl who sleeps around and sells her virginity? You can only 'sell' your virginity once. Still, if this person is promiscious at least they can recognize it. It also depends on how obvious this girl chooses to make the fact that she is a 'slut' of sorts.

ISNT IT FUNNY that you dont mind your friends drinking, smoking but the minute someone mentions emo music you can give them a lecture on melodramatic teenage outcasts? Isn't it funny that you haven't discovered punctuation? I don't care what kind of music my friends listen to. Good for them. Who gives a shit? I don't like emo music and I'll voice that.

im not laughing. Well you don't have much of a sense of humour then do you

ITS SO FUNNY that you and your friends can make a girls life hell and not know anything about the silent battle she might be fighting. See, now you're accusing me under false pretenses. You're not very nice are you? If your friend doesn't want to seek help, that's here own problem. No point putting in the effort of helping someone if they aren't going to put in a bit of their effort as well.

ISNT IT FUNNY that you can call emos, punks, goths the retards but still manage to get through your day without an inch of guilt in your heart. I love the punks and goths. I have a wider volcabulary as well, my range of insults ranges a bit further then 'retard'.

HOW YOU CAN CALL A GIRL A POSER, HOW CAN YOU SAY "YOUR NOT EMO" OR "ATTENTION SEEKER" WITHOUT SPENDING A SECOND TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY THERE ARE CUTS ON HER WRISTS AND WHY SHE SPENDS HER LUNCHTIMES CRYING INSTEAD OR LAUGHING WITH HER FRIENDS Well I don't really initiate conversation, so I wouldn't start pointing these things out anyway. All it takes to be happy is the decision to be and I fucking know that. Lets see you try being drunk for a week then finding out two of your friends have just died. Trust me, if you want to be happy, you will be

KEEP ON LAUGHING Oh I will be, do you have MSN? You're so funny man

isnt it funny you can say and do all this without any idea of what is going on in this persons life See, here you go with the false accusations again, what's to say I'm doing anything?

without knowing her situation with her friends They aren't very good friends if they're upsetting her

or her family Everyone has family issues, you'd be suprised

or her LIFE Ehh, her life, not mine. She really should seek help if it's affecting her so much.

BRAVE ISNT GOING UP ON STAGE AND STRIPPING No one ever said it was, either

BRAVE IS NOT SAYING A SPEECH That can come down to circumstance

OR DUMPING YOUR BOYFRIEND If he shares Charles Manson mannerims then it could be

BRAVE IS ...

GOING TO SCHOOL ON MUFTI DAY AND NOT FOR A SECOND CARE WHAT THE WHORES AROUND YOU ARE SAYING ABOUT YOUR CLOTHES. No, that's just holding your head up high. That's not being brave, that's displaying confidence. Brave is going to school naked man *nods*. I've gone to school wearing something much worse then skinny jeans and a MCR shirt

ITS LISTENING TO YOUR OWN MUSIC AND BEING PROUD OF IT I listen to the Bloodhound Gang, what do I win? It would also appear that you're saying if you're 'normal' then you're listening to someone elses music. ITS GOING THROUGH EVERY DAY WITH THE THINGS PEOPLE SAY TO YOUR FACE AND BEHIND YOUR BACK AND YOU STILL KEEP QUIET That's just being both stupid and submissive. Speak up

ITS KNOWING WHAT YOUR "FRIENDS" ARE SAYING ABOUT YOU AND STILL CALLING THEM YOUR FRIENDS That's just plain moronic

BRAVE IS KNOWING THAT TOMOROW ISNT A BRIGHT AND HAPPY FUTURE That's common sense

ITS ANOTHER DAY OF BITCHING AND DODGING RUMORS You can make those situations fun. Everyone thinks I'm a dyke. I encourage it *wicked grin*

KEEP ON LAUGHING. Trust me honey, I will. Make one of these again sometime, yeah?

So, am I having a go at the emo kids? Nope, just answering questions *nods*

Muhah!

This is good.
Some 'nasty ol' preps' have appeared, this should prove for my great amusement, and a lot of stupid arguments. I hope TheBestPsychoEver gets involved in this *rubs hands evily*

The wars are going to get more violent
*pulls up chair, turns up Turbonegro and lights cigarette*

In other news, Turbonegro are a brilliant band (some people may be familiar with the song "I Got Errection" or that paticular episode of Viva la Bam). Go and get some *nods*

Oi, Emo Kids! C'mere a Minute!

Before someone tries to have a go at me for the title, it is purely for the purpose of getting some people to actually read this.

Where as I have nothing for pity but people involved in these stereotype wars, I want to ask something,
What makes someone a genuine emo?
What makes someone a poser?

I also want to giggle at something. Down under (Australia for the slower ones), our stereotypes are quite amusing. The Goths and metalheads are pretty good friends. The punks are always welcome at our houses as well. We all get along. These three groups hate the 'emo' kids though. The emo kids know this, but are very desperate to fit in, I've heard one person admit they hang around with us because they want security. Which is evidently hilarious, because Metalhead+Emo=Dead emo on a stick. It does seem that some of the 'emo' kids suck up to the Goths on here. But said emo kids still think Goth is Manson (though he is a great fella, I wouldn't say he is 'the' Goth boy). Unfortunately I've noticed that some of the self proclaimed 'Goths' on here think the same thing. ANYWHO
That's not the point of the post, I just want to read your answers to the above questions.

Actually read what I've written carefully for once and save yourself some embarrasment. And don't assume things >.<

Just An Observation, [Yes, the topic of 'emo' is mentioned]

I've been reading the same thing for quite some time.

"Emo isn't a stereotype, it's a type of music. Music is not a stereotype" (Not an exact quote, but similar things are being said.

So consider this, Rancid and Operation Ivy. They are listed under the music genre of 'punk'. Tim Armstrong comes under the stereotype of 'punk'. Sisters of Mercy, the 69 Eyes and Bauhaus are generally accepted as 'GOTHic rock'. One could say that Jyrki from the eyes is a 'goth'. So you're saying music and stereotypes can never be the same?

I find it hilarious that everyone gets worked up over one word. EMO. See, instead of complaining about people calling you emo all the time, when will you realize that if you're going to wear a lot of black and part your fringe to the side, with your MCR tee-shirt on proudly, that people are going to call you emo? Reguardless of what you think 'emo' is as an individual, other people aren't going to change their views. Keep your head up high and keep walking. Why bother trying to promote the image of being your own person and not caring what other people think if you get in a such a kerfuffle over one small word. You all live in such a shallow world where the tiniest thing matters.

It's a word. Sure, I despise the whole stereotype that is 'emo'. But geeze, it's just a word. Stop being so highly hypocritical and get over it all. Stereotypes are ALWAYS going to exist just as long as there are human beings in existence. Honestly, this whole thing pisses me off so much. I'm of the opinion that people seem to think denying your 'emoness' only justifies the fact that you're a proper emo (you're unwillingness to admit it leads one to believe that you are one). Actually coming out and calling yourself 'emo' makes you a 'poser'. Funny how 'emo' is the only stereotype that shuns people for that. No one gives a shit if you call yourself Goth -shrugs-

Oh, just a little extra note. EVERYONE GETS STEREOTYPED. Stop thinking you're some poor, misunderstood individual case. After studying humanism in conjuction with LeVayen Satanism, it can pretty much be proved that no one gives a shit.

Oh, there are certain narcist people who seem to think that they're very mature and above everyone else. These aforementioned people are always in the middle of these 'emo fights'. Sorry darlin', but you're proving you aren't 'mature' because one word practically makes you cry. (pun not intended)

So now I'm going to sit back with coffee, a cigarette, cKy playing softly in the background and laugh at all of the little kiddies fight over their 'stereotype'

Ignorant Children [May Cause Anger to Increase]

Benighted. Foolish. Stupid. Whatever adjective you choose, it's the best way to describe the comments I received on my last journal post. One of the main point I made was about ignornace, and how whenever anyone see's anything anti-emo, they assume they can judge the article before reading it, leave stupid comments and make themselves look foolish. Quite amusing really.

So, I stumbled upon this article. I have a certain way with words, but this bloke says whatever I try to say much better.

I ask that you read all of it before commenting

All Quoted from Fletcher_Box From VampireFreaks.

It seems to me that this is a cult for the intelligent as it is the prerequisite for joining. Now, it also has occurred to me that there must also, horribly, be emos in ths cult. Now, as much of an oxymoron as it is there must be intelligent emos here. So I want an actual fucking argument here, Jesus.

I have been asked and censored on several occasions now as to why I hate emo. This is my last post, and I hope for once you emo bastards will actually take the time to a) read it b) actually think c) make a relatively decent argument towards it. In my own opinion I dislike emos. With reasons I have validated on several occasions without regard from any of you aside from censorship. There are MANY reasons to dislike emo. Some choose the more apparent then others. But perhaps if I try and show you mine, and you pay attention to people like me, you might be able to actually see what opinion looks like. Who knows, you might just form one of your own.

I don't hate emo because it's different. It's not. Nor is it because I'm "jealous". Most certainly not. I hate emo simply because it doesnt push for personal development. If all the people in fuck_emo cults are punks (quoted from an anti-anti emo cult), then as before, I'll use punk as your comparative of sub cultures. Punk pushes for personal strength, that we may unite in strength and remove the chains of oppression pushed down upon us by the idiocy of the norm. They recognized issues, and set forth ways to change it. They saw a government of corruption and hypocrisies, and set forth doctrines such as Marx and Stirner to which we should follow. To which we should understand so as to someday we may actually make a difference. But rather through anarchy or socialism or even nihilism punk found a way to push our minds to INDIVDUAL opinion, thought, and activism. And as far as your trendy fucking clothes, punk once again pushed for an actual statement. Puck realized that although wearing something different is a statement, it is not something that should be dictated to you by your favorite band. But most importantly, the reason punk is a positive sub culture and being used as an example. Punk focuses on STRENGTH and the ability to change things around you that weaken or corrupt us. Such as emo.

Let us look at another popular genre to compare. The brother of punk, and the confusion to emos. Goth. This label has even been referred under "Emo's with bad makeup" so you would expect sympathy from this kind. But none is given or even related to. Why? Because once again "Goth" focuses on personal development, on pushing oneself to be above what is normal or expected. Goth believed that everything, even hate, held its own beauty. One simply must push the boundaries of normal or "conformist thinking to see it. Goth also saw the flaws of religion and began spreading the gospel of the left hand religions and philosophers such as Levay or even Paganism. But the point is it wanted its followers to be different, to be intelligent, to be beautiful.

These are just labels. But labels empower and separate us. And as much as you may wish to deny it, once you allow others to apply that label, you DO become part of it. Don't tell me that when you splash on some red eye shadow underneath the hair that covers your face that you aren't like them. Why hang a flag above your home if you don't support the nation?

But what does emo offer to its followers? To focus on the pain. To choose not to get past the pain but to focus and perpetuate it in this mindless fucking melancholy. It's NOT ok to be depressed. Every once and a while, yes, we all get down. Everyone feels lonely from time to time, everyone finds a flaw within themselves they'd like to change, and everyone gets dumped and feels like a bitch at least once. But the point is that people "get over it". They move on and accept what happened. If it can be changed, then change it. If it can't, then move on and enjoy what you can. You grow from this pain though. All these problems that hit you, builds character when you move forward. But emo doesn't push for that onward growth. It believes it better to cry constantly, to write poetry so you may always have a reason to relapse to the negativity, supports and glorifies self-mutilation! So that the scars may always remind you of how "depressed" you are. So that you may "feel bad" for cutting and ashamed of it. So that you may show it to "just a few" people. So that you may promise you'll stop to them so they think youre getting better. And so that when even the slightest thing goes wrong, you may start again, continue to "feel bad" for breaking your promise. And finally, get extra pity and sympathy when your friend finds out. If you're lucky, they may even get angry for your lying so that you can bitch about their "back stabbing". See how everything about the culture links towards cycling all the pain. It doesnt want you to move on or improve, because otherwise you'd see just how moronic it is.

And don't think this is "just who you are". This is a fucking trend thats sole purpose is to brainwash. It is more funded by MTV then the spice girls, back street boys, or even 50 cent ever were. But you think emo doesn't brainwash, fine, let's play a game. I'm going to make a list of philosophers or artists that defined punk and Goth from centuries past. Then, I ask that you help list a few "emo" philosophers

Bruno Bauer, George Hegel, Karl Marx, Max Stirner, Anton Levay, Friedrich Nietzsche, Immanuel Kant, Friedrich Schelling, Ludwig Feuerbach, David Strauss, Edgar Allen Poe, William Kingdon Clifford, or since emo only listens to musicians, let's use the political activist Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys). This is only a small list off the top of my head. Please, show me the intellectual side of emo beyond trendy clothes and MTV ruled music. Please prove me wrong. But you can't, and that should be your first time to stop following this label, this "culture".

Once again, I don't hate emo because it's different. I don't hate it because it's the cool thing to do. Nor do I believe ALL emos are the same and deserve to die. I believe that emo is a trend that focuses on negativity and slows down maturity. I also believe that as long as you allow yourself to be a slave to this trend, you deserve and need to continue to be discriminated against. Why? So that you may one day realize for one, how to form a defense and opinion when provoked aside from mindless bitching, and that you may as well realize your own shortcomings for adhering to a culture that has NOTHING to offer.

This is my opinion. This is why I hate emo. I challenge you to disprove me. I implore you to. But then again, you were of course too cool to read it. Or just too stupid to formulate any response aside from "fuck u, ur stuupid".

So please, tell me YOUR opinion, and if you're feeling like really proving wrong name A philosopher who contributed to the thinking of the emo culture. Not the real emo culture of course. The fake one we use now. And no, Benji and Gerard do not count.

Personally, I agree with the boy.
So yes.
He reminds me of Schnider from the First Satanic Church of Sydney. Speaking of Satanism, there is more to it then LeVay.

That's all I wanted to post
Have a good one *salutes*

Another Journal Filled With Big Words and Rants. Todays Topic: [read to find out]

Generalization by the emo and the prep kind.

but before I get started.

"Wanna know who's really cool?
It's not the emos or the preps.
It's ME." - TheBestPsychoEver

Whether you love her or hate her with a passion, that girl is absolutely hilarious.

Back to the original topic,
There seems to be more, uh, intelligent (and I use that word only because they type properly) people joining this anti emo crusade. Now generally speaking, I don't care about such trivial matters. If someones going to wake up in their falsey depressed lives, wear their over priced jeans and whatever, then I'm going to let them. I get more pleasure out of letting people wake up and be the idiots they are then pointing out their flaws. It's like when you see someone with toilet paper haning out of their pants and instead of telling them, you prefer to just giggle. *tilts head* I make really fuckin' weird juxtapostion sometimes. Anywho, I'll be honest. I don't like the emo trend. That's not to say I hate every single individual emo. Just as a whole, and I have my reasons.

Now, a lot of the emo kids on this site get annoyed about stereotypes and generalization. This in turn annoys me. Of course I'm such a choleric person so that is to be expected. It would appear that the omnipresent belief is that if anyone doesn't like this emo trend they MUST be a prep and they MUST think that all emo kids cut and they MUST think all emo kids are depressed and they MUST be closed minded. So why is it that people with thoughts AGAINST the masses are called closed minded? Why is that the emos who claim to be so horribly stereotyped, DO THE STEREOTYPING? The same people who write journals about 'omg wen r ppl gona get ova sterotypin! im not an emo, its not a real thing11!' turn out to be the same people who leave comments like "well i'm an emo and ur just being judgemental11! not all of us cut11". Why damn it? Stereotypes are inevitable as a teenager. If you're going to dress 'differently' you're going to get questioned for it. You have to be completely blind if you haven't worked this out by now.

These are the brilliant people I spend each weekend with.

How do you think society reacts to us? It ain't 'bunch of chatt goffs' either. Note the lack of side fringes, converse, MCR shirts and tight jeans.

This is 18
I don't know how many of you have VampireFreaks but he was recently a profile of the day thingy. Lives around my neck of the woods. What kind of comments do you think people like him recieve? And you get so torn up about what your hated 'preps' are saying.

So yes. Let's summarise this shall we?

The emo's are not special. They're just as bad as anyone else. They stereotype and generalize just as much as their pink counterparts. This is shown by their 'jump to conclusions' habits. Read a whole journal post before you flame someone. So yes.
