It hit me like a ton of bricks.
Once in a million, there is a letter that not only makes you glow with happiness and relief that you are doing something right, but makes you stop and think about the past and the future as well.Well, I got that letter, and, subconsciously, it made me do exactly those two things.
It took me a while to understand why I haven't been writing as much this year as I have been last year and before when it seems like I'm doing almost everything the same. After a while, I came up with an answer: school.
You're probably thinking I'm talking about homework, and trust me, I'm not. The truth is, I'm scared shitless to graduate.
When I was a little girl, I couldn't wait to walk down the platform, wearing the traditional cap and gown, with a diploma in my hand and a big, happy smile on my face. With every graduation I went to, this fantasy became more and more real as I watched the graduates take their first steps down the stairs and into the adult world. Last year, as I watched one of my best friend graduate, I almost imagined myself up there, sitting with her in the bleachers, as well.
I never thought I'd ever wish for something as hard as for this school year not to end.
For me, graduation means that I'm going to be an adult, and I'm not ready to be one. I don't want to be one, so I'm trying to cram in as many high school experiences as I can.
This is why I haven't been updating as much - I'm trying to get the most out of my Senior year. I'm not going to lie to you and say that you'll get an update every Sunday from now on, but what I am going to tell you is that I will try to update as much as I can.
I will finish this story :]
PS: the letter I'm talking about is the one I got from one of my readers on Quizilla. For some reason, although I've gotten similar ones before, it made me feel like like I finally found something that I'm actually good at, and made me thing back to the first time I started writing.
Meh, I'm a freak :]
