A7X Concert - April 15, 2006

The A7X concert is over. Man that sucks.

But I had a blast. My friends and I waited in line for three hours and we were in this gate where there were no guards or anyone to watch over us. It was cool because there was a hallway that was tapped up but a piece of tape was missing. My friend got to see Zacky walking with his girlfriend, and some other people we meet in line saw Matt and the Rev walking down the hall. Now, that's sweet!

The wait was definitely worth it because we got in the front row on the floor again! Awesome! Head Automatica dropped out which was disappointing. It took them forever to set up for Coheed and Cambria. While they were setting up this guy was throwing some Coheed picks into the crowd, favoring the right side. It was kind of amusing though because everyone from our side, the un-favored side, started yelling at him.

It was probably 7:45 before the show even started. A full 45 minutes from when the show was suppose to have started. My friends and I really didn't think much of Coheed. We just kind of stood in front of the gate hoping A7X would be out soon.

When Coheed was over the A7X crew began setting up which took about a half an hour [a lot quicker than the Coheed crew I might add]. Ha, and it was funny because we saw the roadie with A7X's faces tattooed on him along with Valary and some others [I saw Matt's tattoo or face specifically]. You know the one from Tattoo Stories? But anyway. Finally they dropped the curtains and the lights shut off. We went crazy screaming SEVENFOLD! Then my friend nudged me and said they were coming up the ramp to the stage, since she had the view of backstage. Once we saw their forms the noise was deafening, and I was screaming at the top of my lungs. They then launched into Beast and the Harlot.

                                                          _____
Zacky was wearing his Jack Daniel's T-shirt, well, I should say muscle tee. He had in red gauges, wore black eye shadow, he had some red lip liner or something running out the sides of his mouth. He wore tight black pants that stopped at his shins with high white socks making up the difference in length, a 6661 belt buckle with a black belt, his American flag bandana and black low top Converses. At first he had his white sunglasses on, but after the first song he took them off and later he put on his black beanie, I have no idea why.

Matt wore a jean jacket which he shed early on, then a white Metallica shirt which he shed in the middle of the show. He also had on regular jeans, his snake skin belt, and some type of black shoes, I didn't catch the brand. And of course he had on his Aviators, his bandana wrapped around his head and black hat which was backwards, obviously.

Johnny had on brown shirt, tight black pants, a black belt with a Confederate flag belt buckle and I didn't catch the shoes. But his hair was blonde and black. Yay for that!

Synyster had on his lovely pinstriped pants, black basketball shoes with two grey bands [I think they were And1s], and a black and white skull shirt or muscle tee. He had his white bandana on his head and his beautiful plain black fedora. Score! He had his typical black makeup too. Synyster has also grown a mustache for those who don't know! I personally think it looks sick [the good kind of sick!].

All I could tell about the Rev is that he didn't have a shirt on. Ha, typical.
                                                          _____

Going back to the concert: They played Beast and the Harlot, Burn It Down, Blinded in Chains, Bat Country, Trashed and Scattered, Seize the Day, Unholy Confessions, Chapter Four, and Eternal Rest [not in that order]. I really wish they had played Sidewinder, Strength of the World, Betrayed or even M.I.A.

During Beast and the Harlot I could hardly hear Matt singing, all I heard were the fans' voices screaming the lyrics. It was funny when they messed up. At the end of Beast and the Harlot is when Zacky threw his guitar pick into the crowd. And guess who got it! Go ahead guess!

The rest of the concert was just flippin' beyond awesome [besides the bitch of a girl who was hitting me in the back and the head trying to take my spot! HA, take that b*tch I got Zacky's guitar pick and you didn't! HA!]. Zacky actually moved around a lot more than he did last time. He was over by Synyster, back by the Rev, everywhere. But he was still by his stand most of the time. Which is good! Though I swear that boy hardly ever looks up. He needs some eye contact lessons.

Matt was near our side of the stage a good number of times. It was rad because we had the stand in front of us and Matt would always jump on the platform and sing from there, so basically he was always in front of us. He was awesome though always involving the crowd and looking out at us.

It was funny, every time Johnny came over I'd scream because he'd be sticking his tongue out and making funny faces. Johnny was hilarious and really nice always smiling at us.

Synyster, wow, he and Zacky did the duo act loads of times. And like Johnny he'd come over and smile at the crowd, though he didn't make the faces. Ha, and unlike Zacky he made eye contact!

It was bound to happen, and it did. Someone threw their bra at Zacky. It was comical because it was huge! Zacky picked it up, still attempting to play, and waved it around. To tell you the truth I'm surprised there weren't more bras thrown at Zacky. Ha, and no one threw cigarettes this time. Poor Zacky.

Then the intermission, Synyster's solo. I was simply blown away. Towards the end of his solo he started playing Walk by Pantera. What I remember and will never forget is the smile on his face when the crowd screamed. He just looked so happy and real. But it was just too great. Synyster owns, and it's not even funny. He is such a virtuoso on the guitar, it's purely amazing.

During Seize the Day Zacky got out a blue eclectic/ acoustic guitar. It was wicked to see him walk around gently strumming the guitar.

Before they played Trashed and Scattered, Matt talked to us about people hiding behind computers and talking 'sh*t' about them. How people made up stuff about them, and then he said it was all okay because they had "the best f*cking fans in the world". Then Zacky saluted us with his Bud Light, now that was possibly the best part of the night.

The last song they played was Bat Country, like before. I figured as much, so that's when I went all out screaming at them. At the very end Johnny came over first and waved goodbye. Then Synyster walked over with Zacky, right in front of us, and they waved and blew kisses at us! I started laughing and waved right back and of course screamed. They stood there for a full minute and it was just awesome. Then they went backstage and the lights went on.

It took me a while to get off the floor, but then my friend, Chelsey, and I went to the merch stand. I got a tour T-shirt, a tank top and a bandana, yes, all A7X. I swear to God that the guy who runs that stand is Synyster's brother, I mean they look so much alike. He had run the stand before at the House of Blue show they put on in October too. I think it was really ironic that at the merch stand was Valary, Matt girlfriend. I had to do a double take, but it was her. She's actually really skinny and has some wicked tattoos on her legs. She seemed nice.

We tried to meet A7X, but security wouldn't let us. Two people tried to help us and get us to wait with them, telling us that when they come out is when we could meet them. But I asked them how long that be, and they said last time they waited two or three hours. I really sucked we didn't have the time to meet them.

But, the concert royally rocked. I may have gotten bruised and virtually beat up by the b*tches, sorry no other word for it, behind me, but the waiting and the torment was worth. I'd do it all over again!

I got pictures! I'll try to upload them even though they're crummy since they were taken by a camera phone.
