"Blaze..."Blazekin trailed off dreamily as he ate the stew Kuro made out of the three days worth ingredience. The map said they were close to town, so they could by more, and eat their fill.
"Hey, could you pass the bread?" Max asked Amaya, and she did as asked. Kuro sat on the ground a little ways away. Kuro was thinking about how her mom was holding up. It had already been at least twenty four hours since they all left. Did anyone miss them?
"This is great Kuro! Thanks." Max said, trying to get Kuro to at least smile, even if it was to be fake.
Soon, Max Amaya and Blazekin finished the stew, and they washed their plates in a little stream near by. They placed the bowls and the pot and wooden spoon neatly back in the back-packs, and put out their fire.
The four continued on, walking without words.
"Ralts?" A little Ralts wandered into their path.
"Aww!" Amaya cried, looking at the little guy. She bent down, and held out her hand to the little pke'mon.
"Come here, little guy..." Amaya cooed. adventually, she got the Ralts to dome to her. Amaya got the Ralts quickly, and let him out to play, along with her Pichu. The two little poke'mon played with each other happily. The six now walked along with a steady pace, making good time.
"Whats that...?" Kuro stopped, looking out over the tall grasses. Max pulled out the map, and had to turn it a couple times to get it the right way.
"That is..." Max hesitated. "Summer City!" He said excitedly. They were only an hour from their destenation...
The blazing sun was just barable, but they were too excited. As they neared the village, down to a hill, they broke into a run, and climbed to the top of a big cliff. Looking down at the the City, it was beuitiful.
"Woah..." Amaya muttered, in awe of the beutey.
"Wow!" Max yelled. The city had red roofs, towering over evrything. Yellow cement beuildings, and brick side walkes of white, yellow, and red. Blue roofs scattered amoung it all. Hundreds of little people walked the brick streets, hurrying, or just taking it easy.
"Blaze..." Blazeking was in awe too, looking at the beutiful city.
"Come on!" Max called, running back down the hill, towards the city. Amaya laughed, fallowing him down. Ralts and Pichu stumbled after her. Kuro stayed a couple seconds, looking in awe, then giggled, and ran down the slope. Blazekin jumped after her, leaping a great distance.
The kids stumbled into the city, taking int the sites. Blazekin attracted attention, but it was all very fun.
"Mom! It's a Blazekin! Do you thinka trainer is here to challenge Ace?" A little boy said excitedly as they passed.
"Wow..." A little girl said.
"Hey!" Someone called from behind Kuro. She turned around, surprised to find someone wanting to talk to her. A boy came running up to her. He had black hair and deep green eyes. A man with dark brown hair, and a green vest fallowed him. Also, a girl with blue hair.
"Ash! I'm going to be late for the tournement!" The blue haired girl whinned.
"Go on with out me. I have a battle to win!" Ash called. A pikachu was on his shoulder, vary happy to be with him. This boy was like her.
"You have a bond." Kuro said to him as he neared. Amaya watched as the brown haired man and blue haired girl went a different way, wondering what this "Tournement" was.
Ash looked utterly confused. A bond? What was that? Kuro could see that he was confused.
"A certen poke'mon that is more then just a possesion. A best freind. A poke'mon you don't think you could live without." Kuro explained. "Hi. I'm Kuro." She said, and held out her hand. Ash shook it, and pulled his hand back quickly.
"You wanted a battle?" Kuro asked, looking at him sincerly. Ash brightened at this.
"You betcha'!" he yelled.
"But, Kuro. You only have one poke'mon." Amaya said, and Ash looked at Kuro with a funny intrest in her accepting this.
Kuro thought for a moment, and remembered the pke'ball prof. Mika had given her.
"No, I have two." Kuro said, and fallowed Ash into the drowd towards the poke' arena.
"What is she talking about?" Max asked, but Amaya was already fallowing Kuro and Ash. Max scrambled after them, wanting to watch the battle...
The reena was just a dirt one. Normall evryday dirt with the white lines.
"You ready?" Ash called mockigly across the feild. The areena was anly around the corner, waiting there. Kuro didn't answere, just got ready to send her Blazekin into the battle.
"One poke'mon each?" Ash asked, and Kuro nodded.
"I choose Blaziken, of course." Kuro said, and Blaziken got onto the feild. The ten foor poke'mon looked vary powerful, but Ash has a big ego.
"I choose Pikachu." Ash said, and Pikachu jumped onto the feild, across from Blaziken.
"You can have the first move." Ash said, feeling confedent, mostly because he guessed Kuro was just a beginner. That she was just lucky to get a Blaziken in her first try or somthing. Not that Kuro had been training Blaziken for ten years, longer than Ash.
"Blaziken, Ember." She said, and before anyone cold even flinch, Blaziken attcked Picachu. Pakachu's HP went down quickly.
"fire punch!" Kuro called, and in a flash, Blaziken had finished pikachu off.
"Bad idea to let me go first." Kuro said, a smile playing on her lips for the first time scince the four left the little town they live in.
"Pikachu!" Ash cried, and ran up to hid pal. Blaziken simply went to Kuro's side, and stood there.
"That was fun! I'd love to battle agein later, after you trained harder, and got more badges." Kuro said. Ash was also just a bigginer, and didn't have even one badge in this region. Not even a new poke'mon.
"Okay..." Ashh muttered, and ran off to find the healing center.
"Yeah! Go Kuro!" Amaya called from the stands, and Max joined in. They were the only two siting in the giant arena. They were all alone agein.
"Well, we need to find a hotel." Kuro said, and they hurried out of there, wanting to get the best place they all could. Amaya and Max got a room on the third floor, and Kuro got a room with Blaziken on the first floor. Kuro couldn't fall asleep. She kept thinking of home. She got up, restless, and left the hotel. She wandered the bsre streets of the city. Kuro was so used to it being crowded with people. No body was out right now.
Kuro wandred for a long time, not really looking for anything. Adventually, she came to an old clock tower. The door was wide open, and for some reason, seemed awfully inviting. So, Kuro went inside. She mindlessly climbed the staires. Up and up and up... At the top, you could see out of the face of the clock. A big light lit the round face. Huge gears, and little gears slowly turned in the tower, making it work. Making it tell time.
A small red door was on the other side of the clock tower. Kuro was ciriouse, so she tried to turn the nob, but it was stuck. The door was jammed. Kuro gave one finall tug, and the door whipped open. It slammed ageinst the wall, then slowly came back. Kuro thought about turning and running, but what she saw was so weird. It was exactly the same, like somone put a mirror in the door. But, she wasn't standing in that mirror. Kuro stepped through the door. No, it wasn't all the same. the wood was gray and decaying, and the clock face was cracked, and some peices had fallen off. The gears were rusty, and didn't move, frozen in place. Kuro turned aropund, and ran back through the door. She closed it, and raced back to the hotel.
