"Don't worry about Yuu-chan! He's tough." Lavi said.
Slowly, Kanda opened his eyes. He looked around and sat up. He was sitting on a white bed. In the same room were four other beds, presumably for his comrades. Something seemed out of the ordinary. Where WERE his comrades. He was sure that he had heard Lavi speaking.
"Tch!" Kanda growled. He pulled on his exorcist coat which was draped around a chair beside his bed. A small metal basin filled with water was on the nearby table, a orange cloth in it.
"CLANG!" Reika dropped the plate of freshly cut fruits that she was holding. Kanda had awoken! Ignoring the pieces of scattered fruits and the fragments of the broken plate on the ground, Reika rushed towards Kanda and pushed him down onto the bed.
"Are you feeling okay? You have just woken up so rest awhile." Reika ordered, not giving Kanda a chance to react.
Kanda was surprised as Reika pulled the blanket up til his chin. He was willing to lie down for Reika's sake but he thought that this was too much. Shouldn't the one lying down be Reika? She had used up so much energy to defeat ALL the Akumas. Wasn't she exhausted?
"Are you feeling fine Reika? You were so tired just now. Shouldn't you lie down and rest?" Kanda asked Reika, who was clearing the pieces of broken porcelain on the floor.
"Sure I'm fine Yuu. I have already ... er ... replenished my energy..." Reika slowly said, picking her words carefully
Kanda peeled off the blanket and got out of bed. He buttoned-up his Exorcist coat and strode to the only full-length mirror in the room. He tied up his hair into a single long pony-tail when he realised it had come undone.
Reika watched Kanda uncertainly. He looked dashing. Stop it Reika, snap out of it, she thought. She noticed that Kanda looked slightly irritated. Was it because he had noticed that she was hidding something from him? Or was it because he thought that she was annoying? Either way, the fault lay with her.
Kanda noticed Reika had silently left the room and Lavi soon entered.
"YO Yuu-chan! Looks like you're up and about. Reika-chan was worried sick over you!" Lavi smiled.
"I SAID NOT TO CALL ME YUU." Kanda was annoyed. He didn't like it when other people other than Reika called him that.
"Are you two fighting again?" Lenalee sighed, "Break it up!" She was always the peace-keeper. But they were her friends. Friends did not harm one another.

Reika was holding back tears as she curled up in a ball in the toilet. Why did Kanda dislike her so much? Pain and sorrow filled her. This was the first time a boy had moved her heart. When Kanda looked at her, her heart had been pounding wildly in her chest.
"Reika? Are you alright?" Allen asked. He rapped on the door. He was certain that he heard Reika crying.
"I-i'm alright. I'll be out in a second." Reika checked her reflection in the mirror. Her body didn't betray itself. There were no signs on her face that was evidence that she had cried. Swiftly, she unlocked the door and stepped out.
Allen looked at Reika from head to toe. She looked alright. "Lenalee had heard from the villagers that they had spotted a wierd creature at themountain close to the village. We're going to set off to investigate now ;D"
Reika nodded and followed Allen to the living room where the rest of her comrades were waiting.

Kanda looked up when Reika entered the room. He was startled when he saw her face. It was apparent to him that she had cried. Why didn't the others notice? Or was it because he observed Reika too much that he already knew every detail of her?
"Alright, let's go!" Allen shouted enthusiastically, breaking the tension in the air. He punched the air with his fist. Well, he MEANT to punch the air but it collided with Kanda's face when Kanda moved forward.
Oh no, Lenalee sighed.
"MOYASHI, DO YOU WANT ME TO KILL YOU?" Kanda burst.
"It was an accident! AND MY NAME IS ALLEN." Allen retorted. He disliked it when Kanda called him Moyashi.
"I'LL KILL YOU NOW!!!" Kanda roared and drew his Mugen.
Allen's face turned white, "Reika...HELP MEEEEE!"
Reika stood rooted to the spot. She didn't know what she could do to help so she tried by asking, "Yuu, please stop. You wouldn't really want to kill Allen do you?"
Kanda froze when he heard Reika pleas. He enjoyed hearing that soft musical-like voice of hers, "I warn you Moyashi. Don't annoy me any further. Understood?" He used the tip of his Mugen and trailed across Allen's neck.
"Y-yes." Allen stuttered, afraid that any wrong answer or false move that he made would cause Kanda's Mugen to slice his neck of.
"Che!" Kanda, pissed off, shealthed his Mugen.
"Kanda is always like that, but we're used to it." Lenalee whispered to Reika, trying to cheer her up.
Lavi had noticed the relationship between Kanda and Reika. When Kanda was in one of his I-am-so-going-to-kill-you mood, it would take Lenalee many tries to convince Kanda to stop. But one sentence from Reika managed to stop Kanda in his tracks. He had also noticed how Reika looked at Kanda lovingly and how Kanda had treated Reika differently from them. Kanda was much nicer to Reika and made an effort to smile (which ALWAYS failed). Lavi wanted to help them develop their relationship but he was a Bookman. He was supposed to watch from the sidelines, never to interfere with anything.
Once outisde, Lavi took out his hammer from his small side pocket.
"Big hammer, small hammer! Grow, grow, GROW!" Lavi commanded his hammer. The hammer glowed then enlarged a ten times its original size. "Grab on Kanda, Allen!" Lavi shouted.
Allen and Kanda held on to the handle of the hammer as Lavi directed the hammer to the forest that was beneath their destination.
Lenalee activated her Innocence and sped off in the air while Reika unfurled her great snowy wings and hurtled off in the same direction.
In less than a minute, the five friends had already reached the edge of the forest. Kanda walked uphead as the other four looked at each other. Lavi shrugged and followed after Kanda, with Reika the last, behind Allen.

Reika was pondering over what had happened back at their room in the inn. She felt that both Kanda and Allen were so childish. They were always at loggerheads and couldn't agree with anything.
Soon, Reika noticed that the surroundings were TOO quiet. She blinked as her senses returned. She was surrounded by hundreds of trees and her friends were nowhere in sight. Suddenly, she felt very afraid. More frightened than she had ever been in her life. Here she was in a all new territory and she was already lost. Why didn't she pay attention to where the others were walking?
She wanted to ask for help but there was obviously no one who could help her. And not to forget that Komui hadn't given her her golem yet because they were still working on it. The tops of the trees were interlocked, blocking out the sunlight. How was she going to fly above the forest to look for them? Would they notice that she had gone missing and come back to look for her.
She continued walking forwards, still deep in thought. She couldn't use magic because that would mean attracting too manynegative spiritsthat wereinthe woods and God knows how many there were.
She didn't notice the low growling behind her. By the time she heard it, it was too late. She saw a silvery blue wolf-like creature dart out from the bushes. The creature had nine elegant tails trailing after it. It lunged forward and bit Reika on her leg, injecting its poison into her blood through it's fangs.
Reika fought off the creatureas it sprang away. Reika continued walking forward. She knew that her ability to heal would cleanse the poison out of her system. But the poison was too fast. Reika already felt a dull pain on her left leg. Luckily the blood from the bite had already stopped flowing. This way, it wouldn't attract too many negative spirits. Reika licked her finger to moisten it. She rubbed it over the dried blood to wash it off. Her wound had turned a light shade of violet. Was her healing abilities not working?
Pain and fatigue overcame her as she lost consciousness and fell.

As the mountain towered above them, Allen turned around to ask Reika if she was tired. Midsentence, he turned around to face her. But she was not there.
"Uhmm, guys, Reika isn't here." Allen announced to his comrades.
"WHAT?" Kanda hissed and looked for himself.
"Maybe Reika got lost. She wasn't looking like herself today." Lavi picked his words carefully, trying to not enrage Kanda.
Panic-stricken, Kanda ran off back into the woods without waiting for his comrades with only one goal in his mind, find Reika.
