He's my Elf Prince(Legolas/LOTR story)Part 1
Chapter 10 : He's my Elf Prince(Legolas/LOTR story)Part 11
As we left Lothlorien, the elves sang for us and waved as we left. Gimli was smiling.
“I have taken my worst wound in this parting, having looked my last upon that which is fairest. Haugh, henceforth I will call nothing fair unless it be her gift to me.” He said. I smiled.
“What was it?” Legolas and I asked at the same time. I rolled my eyes.
“I asked for one hair from her golden head.” He paused. “She gave me three” I smiled and patted his shoulder.
As we reached a larger branch of the river I felt that we were more exposed. I looked out to the Western shore and I felt great danger. I looked away quickly, my breathing quickening. I felt a hand on my shoulder.
“Are you alright?” Legolas asked. I shook him off.
“I’m fine” I snapped.
We rested on a small island once darkness fell. I climbed up onto a rock and looked out at the river. A log floated along and I saw hands clutching it. Gollum. I sighed and pulled my knees up to my chest and rested my chin on them. Aragorn and Boromir were talking.
“Gollum. He has tracked us since Moria” Aragorn said to Boromir who was looking out at the log.
“I had hoped we would lose him on the river. But he’s too clever a waterman.”
“Minas Tirith is the safer road. You know it.” Boromir was saying. I coughed, covering a laugh. “From there we can regroup….strike out for Mordor from a place of strength.”
“There is no strength in Gondor that can avail us” Aragorn said.
“You were quick enough to trust the Elves. Have you so little faith in your own people?” Boromir snapped. “Yes there is weakness. There is frailty. But there is courage also, and honor to be found in Men. But you will not see that.” Aragorn turned away but Boromir grabbed his arm to turn him. “You are afraid. All your life, you have hidden in the shadows” Aragorn tugged himself free and turned. “Scared of who you are, of what you are.”
Aragorn turned suddenly and got in Boromir’s face.
“I will not lead the ring within a hundred leagues of your city!” Aragorn hissed before walking away. I smiled. Good boy. My stomach growled.
“Pippin” I whispered. He was sitting on the ground next to the rock I was on. He looked up. “Toss me some Lembas” He reached into his bag and tossed me a piece.
“Thanks!” I took a bite and wasn’t full yet. It was supposed to fill the stomach of a full grown man. I guess I had a bigger stomach of a grown man. I took a few more bites before I gave it back to him. I wrapped my cloak around me and put the hood up. I subconsciously fidgeted with my necklace gazing up at the stars. I sighed. I felt someone behind me. Legolas came and sat next to me.
“They’re beautiful, aren’t they” he said, looking at the stars.
“Mmm” I muttered, not looking at him. I could feel his eyes on me.
“Do you need something?” I snapped, glaring at him. I caught his gaze and he just stared at me.
“Look, I don’t really want to talk to you right now, so if you could-“ I didn’t get to finish my sentence because his lips were suddenly on mine. I gasped in surprise. His hands were on either side of my face. He pulled away slowly.
“I’m sorry, Idril.” He whispered. I looked into his eyes for a long time. “When I saw you and Haldir I thought that he was someone that you’d known for a long time and you two had a thing going on, but I was wrong and I’m sorry” his voice died down as he finished his sentence. He looked down and waited for me to say something. I took his chin in my hand and tilted his face up, then kissed him. When I pulled away he smiled at me.
“Apology accepted” I whispered.
