Craig walked into the kitchen.
"Hey Q-T, what's up?" Craig questioned.
"Oh you know the usual, Jason and I, he's leaving for the tour in a week, I'm 3 months pregnant."
Craig hugged me.
"You're pregnant?!" Craig asked excited, "But Jason doesn't know."
He said knowing me all too well.
I nodded.
"Babe, that's rough, you're my best friend and I'll let you tell him whenever you are ready."
I smiled up at him as he started to carry dishes into the dining area.
Craig my best friend, I loved him to death, but not the way I loved Jason.
Jason and I may fight and may have a terrible relationship, but we still do really love eachother.
As we ate, Craig was the only one to say he liked supper and thank me.
Veronica simply mumbled a thank you.
Jason, just ate.
I was used to that though.
"You look beautiful today." Craig said complimenting me in my short baby doll dress.
First, and only compliment of the night.
Veronica snorted and glared at him.
Jason just didn't care, as long as now he didn't also have to compliment.
"Don't you think Jason?" Craig asked.
"What?" Jason cleared his throat, "Oh yeah you look alright."
"Thank you." I said looking him in the eye.
That was probably the first compliment from him in about a year.
We've been married for a year and three months.
Craig helped me clean supper up as Veronica and Jason sat awkardley in the sitting room.
It was no secret that Jason strongly disliked Veronica.
"Craigery why do you even try?" I asked.
"Landon, why do you let him do that?" He asked mocking me.
"Laney, I guess it's because you are my best friend and I've known you since birth, and it hurts me to see him treat you like that."
He gave me a side hug and continued to put dishes in the dishwasher.
I was exhausted by the time they left.
"Babe, come clean this up." I heard Jason yell from the living room.
I glanced in and on the ever so expensive rug Jason had spilt his bowl of greasy popcorn.
I grabbed the vacuum and started to clean it up.
"Jesus Christ woman, you keep blocking the tv."
A day in the life of Laney Hale.
