Your stranded out at sea, your little square piece of wood is your only friend right now. That and the small notebook and pencil that you have kept in your corset for as long as you could remember. You never really understood why you carried it around but you believe that your mother did something similar when she was still alive. You look down at your dress, your beautiful light blue dress. Well, it wasn’t light blue and elegant any more. It was a tattered white blue, the salt water was eating away at your clothing. Just wonderful. You sighed and started writing in your small little notebook.
Adrift at sea, not the best feeling in the world if I do say so myself. I’ve been adrift on this dreadful sea for two days now all because of the East India Trading Company. Apparently the ship I was on held something of value so Lord Cutler Beckett, my father and the chairman of the East India Trading Company, issued an order board the ship, tie up the crew, hold the passengers at gun point, and search the ship for this valuable item, which they never found I might add for the valuable item had abandoned ship. Lord Beckett was extremely upset and issued the order to fire all cannons on the ship, thus sinking it. Thank the gods that I managed to find some wood from the ship before I drowned in the water. I’m not a very good swimmer you see so I have actually been frightened this whole time. Not because I am adrift but because I am in the middle of the ocean and I cannot swim very well. I have not slept in two days and I am utterly exhausted.
You look around the little square flotation devise and lay down, your legs dangling over the edge and into the water. You cover your eyes with your right arm and soon fall asleep.

You slowly open your eyes to a dark room, the walls are wooden and you feel rocking so you know that you are on a ship. ‘maybe it was all a dream.’ you think to yourself as your sit up. The rough sheets look a little dirty but you don’t really care at the moment. The sheets fall away from you and you look down and shriek. Your completely naked! You wrap the sheets tightly around your body and get up, making sure that you are completely covered. You look around and you cannot find your dress anywhere. You walk to the door and open in slightly, peaking out. Its night time and the sky is dark, and, from what you can tell, it’s a moonless night. The sails make the sky look darker though. ‘Wait…..dark sails…black sails.’ your eyes get wide. ‘The ship with black sails, The Black Pearl.’ You were so caught up in your thoughts, wondering how you had gotten here, that you had failed to notice a man walk up to the door. When you finally noticed him you shrieked and backed away. ‘The Black Pearl is a pirate ship and that is a pirate and I am a woman…Pirates are womanizers….and I am naked!’ Your thoughts were screaming at you and, frankly, you were giving yourself a headache.
“Now, now. I’m not going to hurt ya lass.” The man, wearing a big black hat with feathers on top and he had a beard and long hair, started walking towards you. For every step he took towards you, you took one back, knowing that fear shown on your face. You wrapped the sheets around you tighter and the man smiled a horrible smile, making you cringe as thoughts of what this man could do to you raced through your mind.
Suddenly you stopped stepping away and smiled as you finally realized something. You knew the pirate codes and since you were a pirate by blood, it should work. “Parley!” you exclaimed and sighed a sigh of relief as the pirates smirk fell.
“First, ye are not a pirate and so the Pirate Code does not apply to ye and second, I be the Captain of this vessel.” He grinned and you gulped.
You took a deep breath and stood straighter and looked this pirate in the eyes. “I am a pirate. Captain Horne was my mother.”
The Captain’s eyes widened and he looked you up and down. “And your name lass?”
He was looking at you funny, which made you nervous. You stammered over your words as you tried to tell this man who you were. “I-I-I’m Xaria H-Horne.” You always used your mothers last name for the name of your father would surely mean death to you.
After you had spoken, someone barged into the room. “Captain, we be in Tortuga.” The captain looked at you then grabbed your arm, leading you out onto the deck, your free arm still holding the wrapped sheets tightly to you. The crew cat called and whistled at you but the captain silenced them. “Ye will be let off in Tortuga and ye better ask someone else for a passage home, Lady Horn.” He said ‘Lady’ scornfully and you winced, partly from his harsh tone and partly because of how hard he was gripping your arm. At the sound of your last name the crew started to whisper amongst themselves and the captain let you go. “She is not to be touched. We don’ want the curse of her mother brought down upon us.”
You looked at him confused. “Curse of my mother?” What had happened since your stay in the America’s?
“Aye, the curse of your mother.” That was all that he had said. “Captain Barbossa, wont letting her go in Tortuga be more dangerous then letting her stay with us?” Barbossa turned on the man and glared at him causing the mans eye to get big. He must have lost the other one because he wore an eye patch over his left eye. “She will be fine in Tortuga.” and that was the end of that particular conversation. Barbossa turned and left, going to the wheel and yelled to the crew. “Throw ancher! We be taking the lass to shore by boat.”

You stood on the docks, your sheet still wrapped around your body as you watched the beautiful Black Pearl sail away. You slowly backed up and bumped into someone and you whirled around. You smelled alcohol on his breath and his hair was gray. He was on the heavier side but he had curious eyes. “what be a lady like you doing in Tortuga?”
“I hardly look like a lady.” You looked down at the sheets that were wrapped around you then back up at the man. You had a weird feeling that you could trust him but you didn’t know why. He was filthy and was more then likely a pirate since this was a pirate port.
“Aye, that may be true but ye have that air about ye that suggests that ye are indeed a lady.” You looked at him slightly confused then you saw another man walking over. He wore a red bandana and had braids with beads in his dark brown hair. He had chocolate brown eyes, a little mustache and a goatee with two braids, he had a dirty look about him but it only added to the sex appeal, not to mention the fact that he was utterly beautiful.
“What do you have here Mr. Gibbs?” The voice was a little slurred but you could smell no alcohol on him for he was to far away. He looked you up and down then grinned, causing you to blush fiercely as you held on tighter to the sheets around you.
“The East India Trading Company blew up my ship.” Was all that you said and the man raised an eyebrow at you. “So, you were naked when your ship blew up and all that survived was a dirty sheet? I hardly believe that, love.” You looked down. “I was adrift at sea and I was most certainly not naked. I passed out from no water and to much sun. I awoke on the Black Pearl only to find myself completely naked, resulting in me wrapping the sheet around myself. Captain Barbossa tried to make a movie on me but we were near port and he ordered me to tell him my name and so I did.” You paused. “Then he kicked me off the ship and told me to find someone else to take me back to Port Royal.”
“Hmm.” Was all the man said then his eyes grew wide. “Barbossa has the Pearl?!” You just nodded. “That’s the fourth time that man has sailed away with my ship!” The man pushed past you and looked out over the sea and sure enough, the Pearl was on the horizon. “Your ship? He said he was the Captain of the Black Pearl.” The man turned to you. “I’m Captain Jack Sparrow, love, and the Pearl is mine.”
