Chapter Five: Gotcha!
Nichole sighed in defeat and dropped the gun, raising her arms in surrender, but not without glaring daggers at the blonde and his red headed friend. Satisfied with Nichole's action the blonde smirked, "Now, give me the notebook," he demanded.
As the attention went to Nichole and the notebook, Ally slowly removed a small device from her pocket. Her eyes shifted to see if she was caught, but held back a smile when she noticed that she got away with her movements. Her eyes shifted over towards Nichole. When she knew she had Nichole's attention, she gave a slight nod to let her know that something was up.
"No, I don't think I will," Nichole said, smirking, "Your friend needs to learn to keep a closer eye on his captive." Just as she finished speaking there was a flash and a layer of smoke filled the room. Nichole and Ally quickly made their way out of the house, leaving the two males in blind confusion.
"Nice work, Ally. I should have known that you would have something up your sleeve," Nichole complimented. Ally smiled.
"I always have something up my sleeve," she replied as the two got in the car and sped away.
"Dammit!"
"Well, that was unexpected. Guess I should have watched her more closely," the red head admitted, scratching the back of his head. The blonde turned and glared at him.
"Yeah, thanks alot, Matt!" Mello shouted. He sighed and put away his gun.
"So, what now?" Matt asked.
"What do you think, idiot! We get that damned notebook back. I'll be damned if I'm going to lose to two, damn girls," Mello growled, clinching his fist.
"And how exactly do you expect to find them? Any ideas?" Matt asked with a smirk.
"Why do I have a feeling that you have an idea?" Mello asked.
"Cause I do."
"Really? This should be good," Mello muttered.
Three days later
"Bye, Nichole! I'm going shopping and probably to the beach! I'll be back later, ok!" Ally said happily as she opened the front door. She was dressed in an orange tank top and camo-pants with a black bikini underneath. She wore a silver chain around her neck with a small heart locket with a single letter A on it. Wrapped around the wrist of her left hand was a small metal beaded chain with military dog tags; her right a black watch and a high school class ring on her third finger.
"Sure, but I'm leaving to take the notebook at five, so I might be gone when you get back," Nichole replied.
"Oh ok, well then see ya later!" Ally said, walking out the door.
"Oh, hey Ally?" Nichole called. Ally turned around, peering back into the apartment.
"Yes?" she asked and saw the smile playing on Nichole's lips. Ally shook her head. She knew Nichole only smiled when she wanted something.
"Can you get me some chocolate ice cream while you're out?"
"Sure," Ally replied then left the apartment.
She spent the first half of her day at the beach, playing volley ball with a group of college boys and walking along the shoreline. The latter half she spent walking around the shopping center, trying on a few outfits. That all ended however when she reached the video game store in the mall. "Oooh! A Game Tournament!!" she squealed, seeing the banner outside of the store. "Next month, I'll definitely have to sign up for that," she told herself then looked towards her watch, "Hmm, it's getting late. I should probably head on back now." She made her way back towards the apartment, stopping by a corner store along the way.
"Hey, Ally," the clerk said, waving at her as she walked in. He looked in his late thirties and had light brown hair and blue grey eyes. He was a friend of Nichole's father and has known Ally for a little over four year. He was a simple family man who worked in a corner store during the summer months and taught classes during the school year.
"Hi Mr. Jones, it's been awhile. How's Michelle?" she replied with a smile and wave.
"She's doing great. She's starting high school this year and can't wait," Mr. Jones replied. Ally grabbed a box of chocolate ice cream and set it on the check out counter. "Chocolate, yet again. Nichole needs to add variety with her ice cream."
"I try to tell her but she just mumbles profanities and goes into a long monologue about how chocolate is the best flavor," Ally explained. Mr. Jones laughed.
"That's Nichole for you, three fifty is your total," he told her.
Ally paid the man then took the bag and after saying bye, left. Unaware to her, she was being watched. The person smirked, "Gotcha."
A/N: So yes, now we are diving into actual plotline, not to worry though, it won't be too serious yet :D Anyway, you know what to do, review! Please & thank you! :3
