The elevator’s lights went out. It was absolutely pitch black. What do you think happens when a newly engaged couple are stuck in a small little elevator that’s dark? Well, let’s just leave what they do in there up to you.
A few minutes, or hours passed. Until they finally realized they had a cell phone that they could use. Joe flipped open his phone, and lit up the small room with a bright light.
“OW.” Kelly yelled covering her eyes.
“Sorry.” He whispered, then speed dialed Nick.
After a few rings, Nick finally picked up.
“WHERE WERE YOU?!” Nick yelled.
“Relax Nick! I’m stuck in an elevator.” Joe replied calmly.
“Yeah, okay. Is Kelly with you?”
“Hey Nick.” Kelly said.
“Hi. Okay, now where are you guys!” He panicked.
“I told you! We’re in an elevator.”
“Are you serious…” Nick asked dully.
“Yeah.”
“THEY’RE IN AN ELEVATOR AREN’T THEY?” Someone in the backround yelled.
“Yes…” Nick said defeatedly.
“Who was that?” Kelly asked.
“Sara…” They both laughed.
“Okay, wanna get us out of here now?” Joe asked.
“Okay, we’ll go get the manager. Or some person.” Nick replied.
“See you soon!” Kelly replied cheerfully. Before they hung up, they heard someone say “I told you so…”
She placed her head against his shoulder. “Do you really want to marry me?” She whispered softly.
“Yeah. I’ve thought about it for a while.”
“But… what if you regret it?”
“What do you mean? You don’t want to?” He asked.
“I do… but…I-i… don’t know… just forget it. I don’t even know what I’m saying.” She told him.
“I don’t know if you’ll regret saying yes. But I swear on my manhood that I won’t ever regret it.” Joe told her placing his left hand over his heart.
She laughed. “Well, let’s just hope you won’t turn into a girl within the next few seconds.”
He smiled. “Just remember, that I love you, and no one can ever change that.” He whispered. She felt all tingly around her arm that was touching his; but it felt nice.
“It’s just… kinda unreal. That someone would actually want to be with me forever you know?”
He took her hand, and stared at its silouette carefully. The ring just seemed to be made just for her.
“Well, then I guess I’m not real, because even though it’s cheesy ; I do.” And he kissed her softly on the cheeks.
Suddenly, and burst of bright light seeped through the crack of the elevator and instantly blinded them both.
“Did I rescue you guys too soon?” Nick asked.
They both got up. “Shut up.” Joe replied.
Later that day, Joe and Kelly both decided to not announce their engagement until they see his grandma after Dinner.
“God Nick! Stop twisting your curls!” Sara told him annoyed while stabbing her meatball on her plate aggressively.
“Oh, sorry.” He whispered quietly putting his head down.
“Dude, you really have to stop yelling at him, you have been all day. Did you guys get into a fight or something?” Kelly asked. Nick stared at his untouched burger.
“Psh. No.” Sara mumbled and shoved the meatball into her mouth chewing it ferouciously.
Joe just started laughing, and Kelly jabbed him in his side.
“Come on. Tell me what happened!” Kelly whispered.
“NOTHING HAPPENED!” She yelled spitting little pieces of meatballs all over.
“Ugh…” Kelly mumbled and wiped it all off of Joe, who stopped laughing.
“I-I’m… sorry…” Sara sighed and put down her fork.
“I-it’s.. okay…” Joe mumbled, slightly annoyed.
“Not to you, to Nick.” She started tearing up.
“N-no… No no no. It’s okay Sara. Come on.” He comforted her while wrapping his arms around her.
“What’s going on here?” Kevin asked while walking towards them with a large turkey leg on his plate.
“No clue.” Nick whispered while covering Sara’s ears.
“I HEARD THAT!” Sara snapped.
“Do you have your … Period?” Kevin whispered.
“D-don’t… go there…” Nick said smacking his head.
“What the…” Joe said confused.
“It’s none of your business Kevin. If you don’t shut up, I’ll shove that turkey leg up where it’s not suppose to be.” She told him while chowing down on her food.
“How’d you know what a period was?” Joe asked.
“Because….” Kevin said nervously.
“What.” Nick asked.
“Yeah Really! I didn’t know until a few weeks ago!” Joe replied. Kelly pinched him.
“OW.” He yelled but quickly shut his mouth.
“Can we please change the subject?” Sara asked quietly while eating her spaghetti.
“Y-yeah…. I think that’s best.” Nick agreed.
“Noo! I want to know!” Joe insisted.
“Umm….”
“Yeah, come on Kevin!” Kelly insisted.
“I WANT TO BE A MIDWIFE.” Kevin blurted.
