Sunset Forever
Have you ever just looked into the dark of the night and asked if anything’s out there? I have and what scared the shit out of me was someone or something answered me back, it said “yes.” That’s the night I met Alex, a 200 year old vampire, at he time I was ten. I had always been wise for my age, always having the answer to everything; but talking to a 200 year old vampire is weird even for me. That night he confided in me, telling me about his past, his life before, after and during his vampiric existence. I learned that all the things I’ve read, all the things I’ve watched were wrong…so wrong. We talked till my mom came to wake me up for school. That was the first and last time I saw and spoke to Alex.
-7 Years Later-
“Sunset, dear wake up its time for school”. Came my moms voice from the doorway.
“okay I’m up” I yawned , pushing the covers away.
Hi my names Sunset Storm, I’m 17 and a senior at Gueydan High School. Something’s missing in my life, the thing is I have no idea what I’m missing. My dream from last night came to my mind, I hadn’t thought about Alex in a long time, I haven’t seen him since that night 7 years ago, actually its been exactly 7 years today. That night changed me forever, instead of trying to fit in with the preps, I am Queen of Misfits, my best friends. My best friends are a mixture of Goths, scene kids, emos, and people that just don’t fit into any clichés.
School
“Miss Sunset, detention” came the teachers voice as I tried to sneak through the back door.
“yes sir” I saluted Mr. Ray, the teacher.
“smartass” he muttered turning back to the bored. I had a couple of friends in this class so I was high-fived on my way to my seat… the preps and jocks just glared so I did the only thing I could, I stuck the tongue at them.
That Afternoon
*sigh* Sunset, when am I not going to see you in this classroom after school, the detention teacher, miss crystal laughed.
“well you know I have to visit you” I said sitting in my usual seat. I grinned a minute later when loud noises came from down the hallway.
“why sunset, we ha no idea you’d be in here” Willow said in fake surprise, followed by the rest of my friends.
“yea right” miss crystal laughed.
“so what’s a girl like you doing in a class like this” willow ask, in a western accent.
“I’ve no idea miss willow” I answered trying to keep from laughing. This is the way the rest of my detention time was spent.
