I woke up, and hurried through the morning. knew the answer to the riddle, and I found out the purple hair witch's name. "What's the hurry?" Asked dad, before he went to work. "I uh, need to talk to my friend today." I said. He stared in disbelief. "A friend? In all the other places, it took everything for you to even talk to people, and now we move here and your making friends? Maybe it is better if we stayed." He said goodbye and left, then mom took us to school. Looks like I got dad's vote on staying in the Gray town.
"Sumnium!" I shouted, running towered her. She was walking among the graves, and seem to be in her own little world before I shouted to her. "What?" She asked. "I found the name, and I know what your riddle means." I said, barly able to keep from shouting. She took my hand, and lead me to a grave, near where I was in my first dream. "Name." She demanded. " Joli Ramassez. What dose that mean?" I asked. "It's French. Joli means pretty, and ramassez means gather. Pretty Gather, but I'll explain latter. You are right, you even got her full name. But the riddle..." She seemed frightened, hopeful, and pleased.
"You were young when you died, and stayed that way, but it's been that for a while. So young yet so old. You were unwanted by your family, who should have been the ones to love you most, you were trapped in your own home. So you killed yourself, long ago when you were so young. You have become strong enough to walk and talk to people, unlike the other ghosts. But you are viewed as only a body, not a having a soul."
She didn't breath, not that she probably needed too, but it's a rare to see her stop for even a second. "You..." She whispered. Her blank face, cold and sad, suddenly became a bit warmer, as a small smile appeared. "You...did it!" She giggled and sighed. "No one has ever solved this riddle, save for Mokonosa. But no one else cared. Thank you!" She would've cried, but she couldn't. What would it be like not to cry? "So, are you a ghost?" I asked. She smiled and said, "Basically yes, but I'm very old, and powerful. Someone, I can't remember who, named me Sumnium. It's Latin, my name meaning dream. I am a dreamer, and so are you. We are both powerful, and I live here helping Mokonosa whenever she needs it." She then looked frightened again. "You must see Mokonosa, she will be displeased if I didn't bring you to here. She will be interested to see a human with such a powerful gift. What will she do?" She shook her head, as if getting rid of a bad thought. "No, she'll be of help to you. She knows about the dreamers, but if you get involved..."She trailed off, then took my hand, and ran off.
I couldn't tell if the same purple cloaked person stood guard. "Ah, what bring you two here. Kale,...." He mumbled Sumnium's name. How much power did one have knowing someones name? "She knows my name, and she is a dreamer. She even found out her full name. I'm sure Mokonasa would want to speak to her. I was pushed through, this time, Sumnium coming with me. The cloaked person stared, but didn't follow. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. "It'll be OK." Whispered Sumnium, but I could here the fear in her dead voice.
We went to the same room, were the main people stood in a circle, black cloaked. Mokonosa wore a deep purple dress, with black lace. cloaks didn't suit her. "Hello Sumnium. I'm surprised that Kale discovered your name. Was it in a riddle?" She asked. Sumnium glared at someone standing next to Mokonosa. It took me a second to remember it was the mind reader. He chuckled, but said nothing. "No Mokonosa, Kale did solve my riddle, but my name had nothing to do with it. She even found the name of...." She mumbled a name, and Mokonosa forced a smile, and asked, "Kale, please tell us her name, and how you found all of this out."
Not having a choice, I told them everything. Coming here, the creature at night, the dreams, the crying even. When I was finished, the room buzzed with the mumbling. "Mokonosa! How, what shall we do?" Said the same hight pitched female voice. "A dreamer, a rare gift. But she knows nothing on dreams. How about a little lesson? You can stay Sumnium, maybe you will learn something."
"Dreamers are special. Somehow, their dreams are more real, more harmful. They can learn about people in there dreams, sometimes talk to others. Powerful ones can go into others dreams, and even get objects, and have them become real. It is a rare gift, even among the ghost children, who usually get this strange gift. Sometimes a human gets this gift, but is weak, they can hardly even get the answerers they need. You, on the other hand, seem to be powerful with this gift, and should use it wisely. People have often tricked powerful dreams to get what they want, in the end betraying them. dreamers usually can tell if their 'love' is false. A strange feeling interferes with them, and their dreams confirm this. But, if the person using them is strong enough, it can be too late for the dreamer, and death follows. Kale, your gift is a good thing, please join my team, become one of us, and use your talent for the better good. For now, Sumnium will answers some of your questions, and will can think of my offer. Good bye Kale, make the right choice."
