Chapter 13 : {Dark Side of the Moon} Werewolf Love Story /11/
(Rylee's POV)
"Stupid. Stupid." You growled to yourself as you continues pacing back and forth in front of Zane and Ace who were sitting casually on a fallen tree and both whom were watching you with a bored look in their eye as if they didn't want to be in your presence. "I shouldn't have told her. I probably just lost the- - -"
Zane rolled his eyes as he interrupted you, "Oh come on, you just met her. Don't be going all soft on us, I'm sure there's other more accepting people out there."
You glared at Zane out of the corner of you eyes, and was about to say something when Ace jumped in the conversation. "You know, I kind of wished Kylee would have freaked out. It would have at least been something, instead she just stared blankly at me like she was too shocked or scared to say anything."
Zane sighed uncaring, "Well you didn't have to push it as far to have actually showed her, that would have freaked any rational person out. Besides, girls aren't even worth the trouble so I don't see why you're both worrying about it. You don't even know them that well."
"Someday you'll meet someone who can stand you besides us." Ace mumbled under his breath.
You tuned them out as they began arguing once more and you really weren't in the mood to be drug into the middle of their disagreement. You started to aimlessly wander through the woods, you would know where you were going when you got there. When you finally came to a stop you realized that you were standing in the exact spot where you first laid eyes on ________. Well technically the first time you saw her was at a distance, though you saw her from a far away distance she was still very enticing, and you remembered every detail.
You remembered how the moonlight shined off of her shoulder length sandy blonde hair and how the moon made her light green eyes sparkle. You sighed once more as you sat on the same rock she had once sat upon. You leaned over and folded your arms over your knees and rested your forehead against your forearms. As you began to wallow in self pity the wind caught a familiar scent as it wafted into your nose. You lifted your head as you heard a voice speak to you, breaking the calm silence that lay about.
"You wouldn't happen to be lost would you?" _______ spoke. You smiled back at her, unable to frown as you noted the irony of this situation. "Um. . . . well sorry for. . . . you know." She stated nervously as she buried her hands in the pockets of her jacket.
"Don't worry about it I should be use to it by now." You replied with a grin. How could anyone be upset with her smiling like that. You stood up and stretched a little for no apparent reason, other than she always made you feel like you had butterflies in your stomach. "Do you remember the night we met?"
She paused for a moment to rethink, "Hmm. Just briefly I suppose. Why?"
"Oh well no reason." You said quickly, disappointed that she didn't remember everything in the same detail that you had.
(Your POV)
You hated lying to him when you said that you didn't remember much from that night, when in truth you even remembered what kind of shoes he was wearing, but you didn't want to come off as some kind of freak for remembering it either.
You relived the moment in your mind as you were brought back to that night when he had accidently come across you, when you looked up to see who it was that was addressing you, you almost completely lost your breath. His messy dark hair was being tossed around in the wind and his blue eyes sparkled and lit up when you peered up at him curiously. Before you were drawn into deeper thoughts you remembered why it was that you were standing in front of him in the first place. "What to do know about my parents not being. . . . . . my parents?"
He scratched the back of his head nervously,"Why don't you come back to my house and I'll explain what I can too you." He replied carefully, not wanting to guarantee that you'll learn anything. "That's not a sexual reference to anything either." He added quickly, knowing that some guys often use that for a pick up line.
You laughed softly and brushed your hand against his arm as he moved next to you, making him blush slightly at your touch, "I didn't think it was. Don't worry."
"Nice place you've got here." You murmured as you rubbed your pointer finger on top of a small bookcase and inspected it as an inch of dust was caked onto your finger before you blew it off. "Kylee would just LOVE this place." You murmured with a hint of sarcasm in your voice, she was what you would call a neat freak with a slight case of OCD.
Rylee laughed, "Yeah I guess it wouldn't kill us to clean every once in awhile." He joked as he led you through the large but old looking house that was still in good condition, the dust aside. You followed him up narrow and small steps as he came to a short stop at an attic door which he eased open carefully.
The smell of mildew and dust invaded your nostrils and almost resulted in you gagging, but instead you just wheezed. "When was the last time someone was up here."
Rylee smiled weakly at you, "It's been awhile I'm sure." You watched as he pulled frail dust covered boxes off of ancient looking shelves as he began to dig through them, sending clouds of decade old dust into the air. You shuddered as spiders emerged from their resting places and began to scatter. "Found it." He used the edge of his shirt to clean the glass. "Here."
You looked at him curiously but took the old photo frame from his hands, the glass that protected the picture on the inside was cracked and on the verge of breaking completely. The picture itself seemed to be in fairly good shape, though it looked centuries old. There were six people represented on the burned, crumpled and faded picture. Your fingers traced over the girl who looked like she could be your mother, but it seemed nearly impossible that it could be. "Is that my mom?"
Rylee took the picture from your hands and carefully removed the picture from it's frame and handed it back to you. You lowered your eyes to read the scraggly handwriting.
And it read: left to right. Kylee Ace Zane _____ Rylee Cassandra
