Nani!?!?! I'm Going to Konoha High? Chapter Ten: Darkness

Shikamaru's P.o.V.
I never thought that I could actually be inflicted with so much pain...My own screams echoed inside of my mind and it tooks minutes for the quiet to set, for me to realize that screaming is just a sign that it's too late.
Failing for me wasn't an option my mind was still reeling with ways to keep Orochimaru away from Aerial, but my body had other plans. Fangs released their grip from my neck and a burning sensation coursed throughout my viens as I fell to the floor panting and shaking.
He laughed. "This one goal has made me curse many who are unworthy...but..." I swear I could hear the smirk creep up onto his face. "At least it was entertaining"
Pain...entertaining...how much I wished I could gather the strength simply to glare, but I barely had enough to breathe...
Aerial's P.o.V.

Don't open my eyes...Don't open my eyes...Don't open my eyes...Don't open my eyes...
Too late...weakly my eyelids lifted themselves, I saw Shikamaru lying on the ground beside me shaking. My heart ached for him, I put him in this situation, a situation I had no idea about. Everything was just getting twisted up in this. All my fault, at first I felt sad as I should in my heart I knew that no one would be getting hurt if it wasn't for me, but...that feeling quickly faded and in the pit of my stomach something entirely new took over.
A craving...bloodlust...fueled by revenge...
MY friends...all in pain because of me and because of these people I just recently heard of...I wasn't going to stand for it any longer...I shut my eyes tightly in anguish as I used my hands to push me up from the ground.
"Aerial what are yo-" Shikamaru barely managed to get out before I cut him off.
"Be quiet..."
"What?" He said weakly wide-eyed

"Everyone's had to protect me...I'm going to do the same..." I whispered feeling a surge of new energy jolt throughout my body.

"You can't!" He stared in awe at something I hadn't noticed was happening to myself. "DON'T LOSE CONTROL TO THIS!!!"

The entire area around us became lost...nothing but a black fog was visible...I heard voices, screams of panic and worry around me but nothing was clear but those eyes. Those eyes that had smirked in the hours before at my pain, oh how I wanted to scream all that time, he wanted to see me scream as well. And here it was the moment to see whose pain would pierce the air. I wasn't giving in, I wasn't going to lose...I refuse...

Shikamaru's P.o.V.

I was choking on the thick black fog in front of me that had just appeared forming from Aerial’s being. This wasn’t the light that was latent in her, was it? No it was the darkness. She tapped into the worst element…all the others…had no choice but to use the one power they were given to defend themselves, but Aerial…she chose what was easiest…the one that came quickly with the need for revenge…

Still coughing laying on the ground I knew there was no chance I could call out to her, tell her to turn back…what was my option…save myself?

“Shikamaru!” I heard a voice call out and I was lifted off the ground and held up in standing position. “Are you still conscious?”

I nodded lightly hearing coughs around me, and finally recognizing this voice as Kakashi’s. “We…have to…get…-” I coughed more not being able to finish my thought.

The other coughs around me became more distinct and I knew who each belonged to.

Paige choked on the air before she spoke. “We can’t, Aerial’s still fighting…I-”

“We have no choice! Just go!” He cut her off and began pushing all of us out reluctantly and blindly through the halls.

All of us…well not…all of us…

Ran out of there as quickly as possible, I heard behind me the collapsing of rocks and rubble. Screams of people who were still inside…those we didn’t know and maybe one we did…I didn’t want to think about that fact too much.

Everyone’s face remained pale even in the rise of the morning sun…just silence…No one knew who would speak up first, I knew it wasn’t going to be me…

Cassie stared off into the distance, standing further away from Naruto then I expected and holding Paige’s hand. “Did we…did we just…” She looked down not even being able to say the words a tear rolling down her cheek.

Paige had tears already streaming down her face. “We abandoned her!” She shouted. “We left her to die!” She let go of Cassie’s hand and fell to her knees.

Cat was silent holding Jennifer in a tight hug as she sobbed against her. A bond had formed quickly between the five of them and I knew that, yet I felt like they couldn’t possibly be hurting more than I was…there was no way that was the case…

“We failed…” I looked up to the sky the sunlight glaring in my eyes the pain almost blinding, but I didn’t care. “Our mission actually failed…”

Kabuto’s P.o.V.

“Lord Orochimaru…” I said almost silently not really hoping to find him alive, I truly hated that man, I wanted my own power. I smirked to myself at that thought.

“Your lord was foolish” A chilling laugh made the air tense as I turned around my eyes went wide. “Easily defeated by a mere amateur to powers, I was disappointed.”

“How are you…When did you…?” The only words that managed to escape my lips.

“Hush…” I was silenced quickly. “Come with me…We have a lot to do if we want the darkness to spread…and this dimension to end…”
