It was the middle of the night. Hakkai had finally gotten tired along with the rest of you and pulled the jeep into the woods. And to be honest, you were all so tired you didn't even put the tents up. So you all fell asleep in the car. Hakkai slept leaned back in his seat, Sanzo with his head in his hand, and Gojyo was leaned on his side of the car with you on him and Goku on you. Hakkai stirred in his sleep and woke up. He held his hands up to the sky as sweat dripped down his face. "A dream. I thought i had forgotten that whole nasty episode." He stood and left the car. You cracked open one eye and watched him walk away. When you were sure he was gone you gently moved Goku and shook Gojyo. "Gojyo! Wake up!" You whispered. He moaned in his sleep, "What baby? Go back to sleep." "GOJYO!" you whispered harshly. He snapped up, "What? What?" YOu put your hand over his mouth. "Somethings wrong with Hakkai. Come on." You leapt from the car and he followed. "Do you know what's wrong with him?" Gojyo asked you following you through the woods. "Yeah, his past." "What? How do you know about that." you stopped walking, "In heaven there is this pond. It's my mothers but i use it all the time. It let's you see into the human world. I've seen all of your past's." "Really? that sort of disturbing." you rolled your eyes. "Shut up. Look there he is."
Hakkai stood in the middle of a clearing, looking at something in his hands. "Hey Nai. Let's sneak up on him." you punched his arm, "Gojyo! We can't do that. He's hurting." "I know. Just come on." He grabbed your hand and pulled you along with him. You stopped behind Gojyo as he leaned over Hakkai's shoulder. "Now that, is one short lifeline." "Ah! You scared me!" Hakkai exclaimed jumping away from Gojyo. "That should be my line. I can't believe how easy it was to sneak up on you. Especially since it was two of us." Gojyo said in monotone with his hands in his pockets. Hakkai was puzzled. "Two?" You peaked over Gojyo's shoulder, "Hi Hakkai." He scratched the back of his head, "Um hey. So.. which one is the lifeline?" You came around and grabbed his hand and pointed, "It's that one right there." "Wow, it is short." Gojyo held up his palms, "Mine go all the way to the wrist." You smacked him in the head, "Don't tease!" Hakkai laughed nervously, "Did you two wake up to tell me that?" Gojyo squatted on the ground, "No, i just wanted to see that gloomy face of yours." You shook your head and grabbed Hakkai's hand in one of yours and touched his cheek with the other. "We care Hakkai. It's about that fortune teller isn't it?" He relaxed into your touch, "Yes, it's Chin-yisu." (no Hakkai does not like you like that and vice versa)
Hakkai's POV ~ "HELLO!" Nai's warm hand left mine and my cheek. We all turned around startled at the loud greeting. A doll came marching from the shadows in the forest. "HELLO! HELLO! CHO GONOU! YOU WILL DIE! YOU DIE!" "Why does that toy call you by your old name?" Gojyo asked staring at the creepy doll. I looked closely, it was holding a Ma-Jhong tile. "It say's hate." Nai said taking a small step back. Realization washed over me, "It's Chin-yisu." The creepy doll continued to watch us. It made my stomach turn. "YOU ARE A BAD MAN CHO GONOU! THATS WHY YOU WILL NEVER KNOW PEACE IN THIS LIFE OR ANY OTHER! CUZ YOU ARE A BIG FAT BLASPHEMER!" "SHUT UP! YOU STUPID PILE OF WOOD!" I looked next to me in shock, "Nai..." Why is she doing this for me?
You couldn't take it. He was your family, all of them were. You wouldn't let any spec of pain come near them, you refused. And this Chin-yisu guy was pushing the limit. "Just shut up! Leave him be! The past is over give up! Leave him alone!" you finished breathing heavily. Hakkai put his hand on your shoulder, "I understand what your trying to say." the comment was directed at the doll, "But if you have some unfinished business with me, why don't you speak to me face to face like a man?" you looked at Hakkai, he was furious. you could feel the anger emanating off him. "Yes. Those are the eyes i know. Show us your true face Cho Gonou." Gojyo had had it. "That's it!" He kicked the doll sending it crashing into the trunk of a nearby tree. "You should have stayed in your box. Come on you two, I've had enough of this toy." you all turned to walk away, when Hakkai saw it. "Nai! Gojyo! Look out." you turned and a slither of light whizzed past you and hit Gojyo in the chest. The doll started to laugh, "That's what you get!" it mocked. Gojyo fell to the ground and you fell next to him, "Oh my god Gojyo!" you felt yourself on the brink of tears. Gojyo was sweating and shaking, strange purple vines were winding under his skin, and he was groaning on pain. "Nai! Hakkai! What happened?!" You looked up to see Sanzo and Goku running over, "SAnzo!" He looked at you and you could see his eyes soften as he saw the tears running freely down you face. "Oh my god." you sobbed. you moved Gojyo's head off your lap and stroked his cheek. He looked at you and you could see the fear in his eyes, "Get it.... get it out....GET IT OUT OF ME!" He choked out. Goku leaned over him, "What's happening?" Sanzo just looked at you crying and Gojyo in pain, "I don't know." He said softly. "It's a seed! A living seed that feeds on blood and has taken root in his veins. He's agoner!" the doll spoke up. "Who the hells the midget?!" goku asked, "One of Chin-yisu's messengers." Hakkai answered solemnly. Sanzo rolled his eyes, "Not him again." the doll spoke again, "Tick tock, tick tock. Time is ticking, not much time for you to save your friend. The seed is buried snugly next to his heart. What will you do Cho Gonou? What will you do?" you stood from Gojyo's side as the toy started to laugh in a demented way. You marched over to it and slammed your foot down into it's face smashing it into little pieces. "Shut up." Sanzo cocked his gun, "Goku, hold on Gojyo's arms." The order was simple but Goku was confused, he followed anyway. "Are you happy now old man? Is this what you wanted?!" You watched in horror as Sanzo pointed his gun at Gojyo. "Sanzo! what are you doing?!" Goku was just as horrified as you were, but he didn't let Gojyo go. "Hakkai, get ready to close Gojyo's wound." Your eye's widened, "No! Sanzo please!" you cried. "Sanzo! the target is too small! You'll end up killing him!" Hakkai reasoned. "Calm down you two. I'm a good aim. If he dies it's because he has a weak heart." "What the hell do you think your doing?" Gojyo choked out. "Close your mouth or you'll bite your tongue." you closed your eyes and covered your ears. 'This isn't happening.'
Sanzo's POV ~ I woke p to find Hakkai missing. Nai and Gojyo were gone too and i panicked when i realized that Nai wasn't there. Now im here, Watching Hakkai heal Gojyo's bullet wound and watching Nai wipe away her tears. "This is all my fault isn't it?" we all looked to Hakkai, "No hakkai. Don't say that." Nai said to him, but the sadness in her voice obviously didn't comfort him. "Im the one Chin-yisu want's so badly." I couldn't take it, "That's enough." i said calmly. "It's not!" Hakkai retorted. "Shut up!" You listen to me!" I grabbed is shirt, "Cool it! If you lose it now that would be exactly what Chin-yisu wants you to do!" Hakkai collapsed and i grabbed him before he hit the round and turned to Goku, "Quickly! Bring water!" He ran off with Hakuryu in tow. "Hakkai!" Nai came over to me and took Hakkai from my arms. She gently laid him on the ground. I watched her as i thought, 'I was wondering why you hadn't been getting much sleep lately. Somehow i get the feeling we've been playing right to Chin-yisu's script. He put that seed next to Gojyo's heart knowing i shoot him in front of you, also knowing that Nai would react the way she did. Making it worse.' I looked up to the sky, 'I don't know why he hates you. But it's obvious that that bastard doesn't want you dead.' "He wants to destroy his soul Sanzo." I looked down at Nai's soft voice. "What do you mean?" Her eyes watered, "He wants Hakkai to suffer."
Your POV ~ I sat there in the cave. Glancing past my hands at Hakkai, waiting for him to wake up. The sun had risen and it was now mid-day. Sanzo was reading his paper. Gojyo was feeling well and went to find Goku. A fog had settled and it didn't help my mood. I was racking my brain, trying to figure out what this guy wanted with Hakkai. I couldn't remember. "Nai? You ok?" I looked up to see Sanzo peeking over his lasses at me. I smiled and shook my head, "No im not. It's my fault isn't it?" Helaidthe paper down, "What are you talking about you idiot?" "I am an idiot. Reacting the way i did with Gojyo. I scared Hakkai." I hugged myself, "I should have stayed in heaven. I never thought i could bear this. I should have known when i saw your past's, i don't belong here." "Nai... what- You awake?" I was puzzled, then i looked down. "Hakkai!" he looked up at me, "Where am I?" I opened my mouth to answer, "We're still in the forest. You slept half the day away." Sanzo said looking at the paper. Hakkai looked up at me, "Have I?" I forced down tears, i can't scare him again, "Yeah sleepyhead." I received a faint smile from the brunette. "Do you have any idea who that damn fortune teller is?" We looked to Sanzo, Hakkai sat up, "No. But he knows about my past." Sanzo removed his glasses. "He's not the only one. Nai." Hakkai looked at me, "What is he talking about?" I gulped, "Well I, um, i know all of your pasts." Hakkai went wide eyed, "What?! Well what does he want from me?" I forced down tears again, "Hakkai, there were survivors of Yo-kugen-mouh's clan." (i know thats not how you spell it but it's close enough) "No! I thought for sure i killed them all!" Sanzo folded his paper, "You should have made sure."
"Thats a funny thing for a priest to say." You looked up at Gojyo, "Hey." He smiled and said hey back. You silently noticed that Goku wasn't with him. Sanzo noticed too, "No luck?" Gojyo shook his head and looked out into the forest, "No, the fog is way too thick. I Can't seem to find him anywhere." Hakkai started topanic, "What is it?" He asked you, you just turned away. "Goku! Did something happen to Goku?" "He seems to have disappeared." you gathered up your courage and answered too. "We haven't seen him since he went to get water after you passed out." Hakkai went to stand and run until Gojyo grabbed his head and pushed him back down, "Your staying right here! Your the one the bastard wants!" "So you want me to just sit here while people get hurt because of me." You couldn't take it. "Dammit I could slap you Hakkai!" He looked at you puzzled and a little hurt, "You really think that this is all your fault?! We are here because we want to be! We are here because we have the same goal, and all of us will destroy whoever and whatever gets in our way. No matter who'senemyit is or who's fault it is." He looked at you and smiled. "If you meet the buddah, kill the buddah. If you meet your father, kill your father. Live free from all, bound by nothing. That's what my master taught me. Since Nai knows our pasts, i guess she already knew that." (if your wondering, go watch episode 11. What you said is basically what Sanzo say's. But i love the buddah saying so i had to make him say it. ^_^) You smiled. "Right Sanzo. So Hakkai, if you understand where we're coming from. Stop putting everything on yourself." He nodded, "Got it."
Sanzo and Gojyo went outside to smoke. You stayed in the cave with Hakkai. "I'm sorry Nai." "Please stop it Hakkai. Don't apologize to me. I'm fine." "Alright, so where do you think Goku is?" You shrugged, "I have no clue. I just hope he's ok." "There you are! I thought i got left behind!" you knew that voice. "Hakkai! It's him!" the two of you ran from the cave and came face to face with Gojyo trying to rip Goku apart. But something wasn't right, you stopped short next to Sanzo as Hakkai continued on to greet him. "Sanzo." "Yeah." Your heart felt heavy, "That's not Goku." Sanzo's eyes narrowed. "Goku." He said sternly, the fake turned to him with a smile. "Huh?" "Where's Hakuryu?" Sanzo continued. You took a step back as the fake ran over to the two of you. It grabbed Sanzo's sleeve, "I'm sorry. I must have lost him in the fog, we'll find him. Let's get out of here." The fake turned to walk away. Anger and sadness boiled in you, your hair turned silver and you summoned your whip, "Goku." Ice was dripping from your every work. He turned around. "N-Nai! It's me! What's wrong with you!" "Don't Nai me you impostor!" Hakkai and Gojyo didn't know what was going on. "Nai, what are you doing?" Hakkai was too stunned to speak. Sanzo walked over to them. "That's not Goku." Realization came to the two, they all turned their attention back to you and the fake Goku. You gripped your whip tighter, "N-Nai! C'mon Nai! Nai!" "Shut up!" Sanzo smirked, "Whoever you are you sure as hell ain't no monkey and she can tell." Sanzo was slightly impressed that you could tell, you had been with them for a little more than a week and you could already tell their personalities. but then again, you knew their pasts so you've known for a while. The fake Goku turned to Sanzo. "No! It is me! Nai please!" you raised you arm, "Well lets see if the monkey can land a back flip." you cracked you whip around his ankle and pulled, the impostor did a full back flip and landed with a sickening thud on his back. Sanzo stood next to you as the fake Goku turned to dust.
"Come on out Chin-yisu! You made the lady awfully angry!" Gojyo called into the forest. You all heard sinister laughter, "That was one of my best puppets. So tell me my dear, what gave it away." "I know Goku." You said simply eyeing where the voice was coming from. Sanzo cocked his gun, "Yeah. And he didn't say 'I'm hungry' once." He laughed again, "I'm hungry? Is that all it was? Well who would have thunk it." Sanzo was growing impatient, "What have you done with Goku?" "Where do you think he is? He could just be wandering in the fog. Then again..." he drifted off and started to laugh again. Sanzo fired a shot next to Chin-yisu's foot. "Where is he!" "Why don't you just put a bullet in me now? That is, if your able too." He snapped his fingers. Thousands of centipedes started to come from everywhere. "AAAAAHH!" you screamed. The guys started to back up, "Ah shit." Gojyo said looking at them all. They started to crawl up your legs, "Shit is rite! Shit shit! Double, triple, SHIT!" "Yo-kugen-mouh was a centipede demon. Don't move too much, they will bite and that is enough poison to kill even you Miss Goddess." You snapped your head up, receiving a few small bites from the startled centipedes. "How did you know?" he smirked, "When your hair changed, your ears didn't point, and you don't smell like a demon. You scrunched up your face in anger as he walked towards Hakkai and grabbed Hakkai's face. "Are you angry? Take a good long look at the son of the man who raped andimpregnatedyour woman. You eyes flew open, "No! Hakkai don't!" you knew the memory would tear him apart, but when you looked his face was already frozen in fear of the memory that was playing in his mind. "Stop it! Let him go!" "It's too late my dear, he's remembering who i am." "No! HE KILLED YOU!" He smirked at you and turned his attention back to Hakkai, "Did you kill my entire clan out of revenge?!" He slapped Hakkai, "DID YOU?! Or was it some. Misguided. Sense. Of. Justice!" You drowned out the smack and almost choked when he kicked Hakkai in the stomach. Chin-yisu towered above Hakkai, "Only your disgrace and utter humiliation can rest my soul." Sanzo had had enough, "Shut up. Not another word. Your boring me to death. How about i tell you two of the things i hate the most." Chin-yisu was amused, "Sure." SAnzo smirked, "Psychos and worms. SCRIPTURE REPELL!" you summoned your whip as soon as you were freed, Gojyo smacked Chin in the side with his weapon and you wrapped your whip around him before he hit the ground and threw him in the opposite direction. You noticed Hakkai on his knees, so did Gojyo. He was muttering to himself, "Hakkai, is that-" "Get a grip on yourself! You are Cho Hakkai!" Gojyo yelled grabbing his shoulder. "Yeah, your right." Hakkai agreed. "GOJYO!" A hand came out and grabbed Gojyo around the neck. "Nice little trick you got there." Sanzo raised his gun. "You bastard." Chin rolled his eyes, "Again with the gun. Why don't you actually aim for the chest this time?" You looked up, a little spec was coming at all of you. "Gojyo move!" He managed to dive out of the way as Goku came in and crash landed on Chin-yisu. "Sorry im late." "Goku!" Hakkai said happily. Gojyo jumped up and started to stomp on Goku's head, "YOU STUPID MONKEY! WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG?!" "Ow Ow! Come on! Gimmie a break! My leg's broken and i'm hungry! Ugh, it's awful!" You were sure it was him now, you pounced on him and started to kiss him all over his face like a mother who's been reunited with her child. "Oh! My little monkey!" He tried to calm you down, "Nai! Nai! I'm ok." "Yeah thats him." Gojyo reasoned watching you, Hakkai just smiled. You stopped kissing him as Sanzo came over. "Hey there." Goku looked up, "Yeah?" "Ya dumb stupid monkey!" *SMACK* "What the hell was that for!" "What?" "What do you mean What you big mean dumb ass!?" you just giggled behind your hand, "Why can't he just say he's happy to see him."
Sanzo's POV ~ I was relieved to see him, but i wasn't gonna be all kissy face like Nai. I grimaced a little. We all heard that familiar chuckling and turned to see Chin-yisu cradling his arm. "Oh look. My arm is all shattered." "Shit." Gojyo cursed. What the hell is he still doing up? Somethings not right. "Doesn't this guy feel any pain?" He laughed again, "Oh trust me. I'm in enough agony watching this little sappy family reunion." "Hey Sanzo." I looked down at Goku, "Somethings not kosher." "Goku what do you mean?" Gojyo asked leaning forward so he could see him. "I really walloped him. But he doesn't even seem fazed." "Thats because Hakkai killed him." We all turned to Nai, she had said that earlier. "Hakkai think. Don't you remember?" His eyes widened. Nai hit a nerve. "I do remember. He was there that night, i killed him, literally with my own two hands. I'm sure of it." I watched Hakkai look at his hands, this guy was really getting on my nerves. "As you can see i gave this some thought." Oh god, he's at it again. "I knew that the only way to make you suffer was to make your friends suffer for you." He threw some senbon needles at Goku and Gojyo. (we're gonna say there senbon needles. i didn't wanna say sticks, thats stupid) "I will admit, the red head and the monkey have been a real barrel of laughs. But next time, you just might lose some of your play mates." He threw more needles at me. I caught them between my fingers and dropped them on the ground, "I'd love to see you try it." I was on the edge now, one more push from this bastard. He smirked, "Good." He threw more needles at Nai. She blew at them and a gust of wind hurled them back at him. Nai took off at him and went for his neck. He grabbed her hands and grabbed her around the waist, he slammed her back to his chest. "Nai! You idiot! What is the rule!" She looked sadly up at me, i felt a pain in my chest. Was i, heart broken? "Don't leave your side." She said sadly.
"Nai!" Goku called out to you. Chin-yisu's grip was strong for a dead guy. Sanzo and Hakkai just stood there. 'Please help me.' You thought, you could see in there eyes that they were planning something. You kept eye contact with Sanzo. He stared into your ice blue eyes, as you stared directly into his beautiful purple orbs. 'Beautiful?' You thought, 'Yeah, Sanzo was beautiful. Angelic. A pain in the ass, but Angelic none the less.' "Why aren't they moving?" Goku asked Gojyo a little way's away. "They're waiting for an opening." You didn't hear that conversation, you were focusing on Sanzo. "Hey you!" Chin turned to Goku with you in his arms, breaking your concentration and Sanzo and dragging you back to reality. You still couldn't believe how strong he was. "You just try and do something to Nai." Goku continued. "GOKU! STAND BACK!" Sanzo yelled, you closed your eyes. Chin brought his lips to your ear and spoke loudly. "My compliments girl. Your pet is very loyal. But he yaps too much for my taste." You screamed as he jumped in the air and threw more needles that landed in Goku's broken leg. "Dude, is your leg really broken?" Gojyo asked, "Yes! I told you that already! Will you focus!" You closed your eyes and trained your ears. you picked up Sanzo's voice. "Let's get him while his back is turned." "Yeah." Hakkai answered, "We won't hit Nai that way too." There was a silence, then, "Ready? GO!" Chin jumped just as Sanzo pulled the trigger. "You cowards! Attacking me while my back is turned!" you took the opportunity to pull from him, you landed on the ground on your feet. "Now it's my turn!" Hakkai blasted him with his Chi sending him through a tree. He recovered and disappeared. Sanzo turned to you, "Get up. I'll discipline you later. We're going after him." You nodded. "Gojyo, Goku! You two stay here." Hakkai ordered. The three of you ran off before they even had the chance to argue.
Gojyo POV ~ (i totally forgot about him...oops >_>) I watched them run away. "Wait! Dammit! I can't believe they ditched us." I couldn't help adding the thought that Nai was only following orders from her bitchy self appointed handler. "Are we gonna take that from them?" I turned to Goku, "Hell no! We're going after them!" He smiled that big goofy smile. "I'm right behind ya!" I went to run when the pain went searing through my chest to the rest of my body. I doubled over in pain and clutched my chest. "I take it your wound's not completely healed yet." I looked up at Goku, did he care? "You useless bastard." He finished, i should have known. "Your one to talk you stupid one legged monkey!" "Hey stop calling me a monkey water sprite!" Honestly these little fights are what keep me sane. This little monkey was what made everything seem ok for me.
You ran through the forest on Sanzo's heels with Hakkai close next to you. "Sanzo." You breathed out. You all stopped running, "We haven't lost him have we?" Hakkai asked. You shook your head. "No. I feel something, he's here." Sanzo looked around the tree tops, "Yeah he is. CHIN-YISU! If you want to kill one of us you'll have to show yourself eventually!" Sanzo yelled into the trees. You walked over to a tree and flexed your hand, "How about i force him out?" Sanzo raised an eyebrow, "Don't be stupid." "I'm not Sanzo. I'm being a goddess." You placed your hand on the trunk of the tree and little green vines came out and wrapped themselves around your hand up to your elbow. "Now." Hakkai ran over to you, "Nai! What are you doing?" "Relax Hakkai. My mother was practically mother earth. When i was born i was given the power of earth, fire, water, and air." Hakkai nodded in understanding, "That's how you did that thing with the sticks." You smiled, "Exactly." Sanzo walked over, "So what's your plan?" "I plan on finding him, dragging him here, and killing him before he kills us." Hakkai's eye'swidened, "Nai you don't have to do that." "Hakkai! Please, i do." Sanzo lit up another cig, "His plan is to have you watch the two of us die in front of you." You nodded, "Exactly, one of us depicting the woman you lost. and the other, a friend who helped with the pain." "No." You looked at Hakkai. "That's not what he wants. He wants to crush my soul. Hey guys?" you answered with a simple 'hm?' while Sanzo, "What is it. If you ask something stupid i'll kill you." "Ok, maybe i shouldn't then." You rolled your eyes, "Go ahead Hakkai." "Ok. Do you two think, it's ok for me to be here?" You felt your eyes water, but Sanzo beat you to the jump, "See that was stupid. Now i have to kill you." You smiled, 'Sanzo has his own way of letting the people he cares about know, that it will be all right.' "I know you would never betray us Hakkai. Am i right?" Sanzo asked. Hakkai looked up at the sky, "that's not a fair question. We've never been put in a situation to test that." You hung your head a little, 'Hakkai...'
"I got him!" you yelled, hand still part of the tree. "I feel it too." Sanzo said getting ready, "He's on the move now." You focused and tried to grab the source of energy with a vine, it didn't work, "SHIT!" the tree you were attached to flung you across the clearing into another tree, hard. You were blinking in and out of consciousness. "NAI! DAMN!" you heard Sanzo yell. You looked down in your hand, and there it was. A 'tree' Mah-Jhong tile. You smirked, "Bastard." Senbon needles hurled towards Hakkai and Sanzo. Thy dodged, "Up there!" Sanzo pointed, and there he was. Perched on a branch smiling downevillyon all of you. "How sweet. A little heart to heart before the big farewell. Too bad your little tree hugging girlfriend can't be apart of this." Sanzo glared, "I'm tired of playing this game of hide and seek with you. Come down here!" he said sternly. Chin smirked, "Oh really? Fine, this will be over quickly." He jumped to the ground and started to talk, "You killed my entire clan for the sake of one woman." Hakkai glared too, "One woman that was my whole other life." 'Oh Hakkai.' You thought. "Was she worth it?" "You're breaking my heart." Sanzo said with a touch of sarcasm, "Leave him alone." Chin smirked, "What a forgiving friend you have there Cho Gonou. It makes me so happy to see that you have another companion who you would hate to see die." Your eyes widened, 'Oh no. He targeted Sanzo. He's gonna kill Sanzo. No!' YOu wanted to yell out, but it was taking a lot of strength to stay conscious.
Hakkai's POV ~ My brain was tearing itself apart. Nai was barely conscious against a tree, Goku and Gojyo were hurt and not here. And Chin was gonna kill Sanzo. I'm not gonna let that happen. "I'm the one your after. So go ahead and do whatever you can to me. but him. I will personally make sure that you never lay a finger on him!" He started to laugh. God how i hated that laugh. "I can't lay a finger on the monk you say? Well... how about you do it for me?" a pain seared through my head, all i could hear was his voice. "Show me the agony you will suffer at witnessing your won crime!" I fell to my knees, the pain was killing me. This can't be happening, no, NO! "Hakkai! Are you all right?" That voice, Sanzo? "Stay away from me!" "Hakkai!" Why was he so stubborn? "Hakkai-" I grabbed his throat and looked up at him. He stared back at me and choked out my name, 'Im sorry Sanzo but...' "I can't control my arm!" I finished my thought out loud. this was really happening, i was killing him, i was killing Sanzo. I took a glance at Nai. She was horrified, 'I'm sorry Nai.'
"What a frail creature you are. It was so easy for my to work my way into the crevices of your heart." You closed your eyes and blocked out the mans evil words. You refused to look or listen, Sanzo was not going to die, Hakkai was not going to go crazy. You refused to believe any of it. "Just kill him. Can't you se the poor boy issuffering? Put him out of his misery." You snapped your eye's open. "Hakkai! Please don't! Wake up!" Hakkai was on top of Sanzo now, still choking him. "That day when you killed me. I saved myself using a life piece. I saved myself so one day... i could make you suffer." Hakkai slowly took his hands from Sanzo's neck, "No. It can't be. I didn't...NOOOOO!!!" Hakkai realized what he did, "Sanzo..." He glanced at you, you weren't crying, just staring in disbelief. He turned his attention back Sanzo, "Sanzo. Sanzo. Sanzo! SANZO!" Hakkai shook him and shook him but he wouldn't wake up. "See how easy that was?" Chin-yisu mocked. "SANZO!" 'Oh my god.' you thought, 'Goku. No! Anybody but Goku!' You tried to stand. You did and leaned against the tree. Hakkai stood to, and watched as Goku and Gojyo ran towards him. "Sanzo? What's wrong with him?" Goku asked. Gojyo laid eyes on you and ran over. "Nai. what happened? Are we too late? What did that bastard do?" He threw all these questions at you as he helped you stand, he held onto you. You wanted to collapse on him and cry. "I-I Hak-" you couldn't get the words out, it hurt to bad, so you looked at Hakkai. "I did it." He said clearly. "What?!" "Come again." Goku and Gojyo couldn't believe there ears. "I did it." He repeated. A chi ball started to form in his hand. "Guys move!" Hakkai threw the ball of chi just as the three of you moved out of the way. "It's really no use." That voice sent chills down your spine, "He might as well be my own personal puppet." Goku was outraged, "Stop it! Hakkai!" He formed another ball of chi. You closed your eyes again, 'No, please.' "Goku move!" You opened your eyes just as Hakkai turned and hit Chin-yisu with the blast. "Oh my God." You pushed away from Gojyo and fell to the ground, Sanzo stood behind Chin with his gun cocked and pointed to his head. Hakkai kneeled in front of you. "Im sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." You jumped on him in a huge hug and cried on his shoulder. He hugged you back. "Im so sorry." "This was all just an act?!" chin yelled. Hakkai removed himself from you and turned to Chin and Sanzo. "Hakkai would rather bite off his own tongue than strangle me to death." "You said it was easy to find the crevices of my heart? Well my heart isn't big enough for crevices. When Nai started to cry, me seeing her in pain forced you out." chin smirked, Hakkai continued, "I would have thought you would have learned after the last time i killed you. Don't underestimate me. but now, i get to kill you twice!" Chin rushed t Hakkai, "Why don't you fight me without your limiters like you did then?!" Hakkai readied his chi, "I have no such use for trivial force." Chin-yisu came down upon him and Hakkai plunged his hand into his chest, "It was right about here wasn't it? Where i stabbed you all those years ago?" Hakkai pulled his arm back and pulled the life Mah-Jhong piece out of Chin-yisu's chest. He fell forward onto Hakkai, "I hate you Cho Gonou." Hakkai crushed the piece in his hand, "No, my name is Cho Hakkai." Chin dissipated into little pieces and flew into the air. "Yes! Go Hakkai!" You cheered loudly. He smiled a sincere smile ate you. "Nai?" "Yeah Sanzo?" *SMACK* "That was for not following orders!" You pushed him to the ground, he looked up at you very puzzled with a slight tinge of pink on his cheeks, "That was for faking your death and making me cry you unholy bastard!" He continued to stare at you until you cracked a grin, "Damn you girl! Imma kick your ass back to heaven!" Sanzo jumped up and chased you around the forest. You just smiled and ran, 'I'm so glad we got through this.'
"You pervy water sprite! What do you think your doing!?" Gojyo put the cap on the permanent marker and you came over to see what he had done. A vein pulsed on your head as you saw the graffiti on Goku's cast. "I can't walk around with all this graffiti! It's insulting!" Goku whined. *SMACK* "Will you shut up! At least be quiet while we set your leg!" You smacked your forehead, "I knew i should have done it. I can't trust you guys with anything, you all need to be babied." "Nai, i think he broke my head bone." You giggled, "Try breaking his jaw bone." Gojyo said next to you, Sanzo smiled wickedly, "Im one step ahead of you my man." "Don't even joke about it." Goku said still holding his head. You laughed and walked over to Hakkai with Gojyo, "Hey!" "Well you two are awfully energetic. Shouldn't you be resting?" Gojyo rolled his eyes and sat on the hood of the car on the opposite side of Hakkai that you were on. "Your one to talk." You touched his shoulder, "Yeah, you look like a weight's been lifted off you shoulders." "I guess one has been. In a way the fortune teller helped me. It was only a matter of time before i had to confront my past and move on." He raised his hand in front of his face, "I still wish my lifeline was a little longer though." you laughed, "It is a littlescraggly." He smiled, "I guess that means i have to just make the best of the time I have left." "Or you could try this!" Goku reached over his shoulder and drew a new lifeline on his hand with the magic marker. Goku laughed and went back over to Sanzo who smacked him with the fan, " Dumb ass! Can't you at least pick up after yourself?!" Gojyo burst out laughing, "Ha ha ha! Do it again!" "Ah! This is permanent ink." You started laughing and looked at Hakkai's hand, "Yeah it is!" "It's not coming off is it?" you laughed some more, "Nope! Not coming off." "I guess i can live with that." "Everybody! We're leaving!" You jumped off the hood of the car, "Woo Hoo! Man am i hungry!" "Nai! that's my line!" You laughed. Goku got an idea, "Wait! Maybe if we had steak my bones would heal quicker!" You raised your eyebrows. Sanzo got in the car, "Like hell they would."

The guys are so happy you all got through that ok. Gojyo is a little crushed that he didn't get to hold you when you cried, Typical Gojyo. LOL I think Hakkai just became your best friend out of the group though. And Goku has more than earned the name of son. All we gotta do now is place Gojyo and Sanzo!
