Melanie's (you're) POV (point of view)
'i wonder if he hates me'
FLASHBACK 7 years old
"sasuke-chan!" 7 year old melanie says happily.
"what do you want melanie." an angry sasuke says.
"what's wrong sasuke-kun?" i said. concern showing clearly in my face.
"don't call me that, i'm not your friend. Friends are weaknesses. i need to get revenge and i cant have anyone slowing me down." sasuke exclaims.
"revenge!? revenge will only bring sadness. even if HE killed eveyone, that doesnt mean you have to kill him. he's the only family you have left! If you continue like this and kill people just to get stronger to kill HIM, than you're just like HIM!"i scream with as much anger a 7 year old could muster. i walk away slowly, and when i was almost out of sight i turn and say, "i'm leaving to train so i can protect those close to me. sayonara(goodbye for a long time.), uchiha."

END FLASHBACK
i looked up at the konoha gates and sigh before walkig into the village.
"state your name and business" the gaurds demand.
"melanie nara" i say simply, hoping they would know my name and just let me pass.
"so you're that kid that left to train."
"yeah" i say walking away, not wanting to strike up a conversation at the moment.
"hey, where do you think you're going!?"
"home, i'm tired and would like to sleep now."
"you're supposed to wait till we say you can go!"one of the gaurds say, obviously angry. before i can retort, another man says,
"what seems to be the problem?"
"i'm tired and i want to go home to see shika-chan and aunt and uncle but these guys seem to want to keep me here and say i can't leave till they say i can."i say quickly, not giving the gaurds a chance to speak.
"so can she go?"the man asked. the gaurds merely nodded. the man then turned to me and said, "asuma sarutobi. jounin sensei of squad 10."
"melanie." i say, not wanting to cause anoymore trouble with useless chitchat. i turn towards my house and start to walk away when a vaguely familiar voice called me.
"are you melanie nara?" my eyes widen when i saw who had spoken.
"is that you shika-chan, is that really you?" i say incredulously.
"yeah" he says as i turn away again. "by the way, you're going the wrong way." i turn and scratch the back of my head saying,
"i knew that." laughing slightly, i walk away. before i was out of earshot shikamaru called out to me,
"what about sasuke?"
"i don't feel like talking to uchiha. maybe tomorrow."
"do you want me to tell him that you're back." he said after a second hesitation, still dazed that i called saske, uchiha.(you didn't tell him that you and sasuke had a fight yet.)
"no, i don't want him to act for me. i want to know just how much he changed."i ran as fast as i could, not wanting them to see my tears. i ran so fast that it almost seem as if i disapeared. i ran all the way home, fell onto my bed and cried myself to sleep.
Shikamaru's POV
'what happened between her and sasuke for her to call him by his last name. i thought i saw tears in her eyes just before she ran off. were those because of sasuke too? d-amn you sasuke.'
"shikamaru, who was that girl? you knew her right? how does she know sasuke-kun?" ino's annoying voice interuppted my thoughts.
"yeah,*munch* who *munch* is she? choji asked inbetween chips.
"that's melanie nara, my cousin. her relationship with sasuke is her own business and if you want to find anything out ino,ask her."
"but you know don't you shika?" she asked you.
"don't call me that you troublesome woman." i said impatiently. "i'm going home, see ya." before i opened the door to my house, i look to the large stone mansion to it's right. 'nara main building. she's probably asleep in her room by now, troublesome woman." i sigh as i look at my cousin's looming house. 'she might be lonely in that big house of hers all alone.' sighing again. i walked into my house to tell my parents of the arrival of my cousin.
