(This story is made not knowing who Amy Rose’s real father is if any and as if all the characters had never met or led different lives together.)

A love hate life
Chapter 1
You need saving again?
Shadow was in his store room of a shop he owned in a small town.
He hears a rustle behind him “what are you doing here…?” he says knowing who it is who it always is.
Sonic limps a bit after just crashing into crates left across the floor “Who me?”
Shadow turns around to face him “Yes you !!! what are you doing here?”
Sonic: “just killing time why what’s it to you?”
Shadow: “You’re always here you’re always under my feet! Why don’t you get a job?”
Sonic: “In dew time but first you need to do something for me!”
Shadow: “Oh and what would that be?”
Sonic: “Go rescue that girl!”
Shadow crosses his arms “What girl?”
Sonic: “The one screaming help duffus!
Shadow: “Oh you mean the really noisy one? Dam ein’t no way I’m rescuing her you should see what she did to the last guy!”
Sonic: “Why what did she do?”
Shadow: “Ripped his heart right out man that boy was so cut up I thought he’d never smile again!”
Sonic: “Great …and she’s calling my name why couldn’t I be named Elbert or Tony. Tonys nice!”
Shadow: “Yeh well you wasn’t and she’s waiting and mite I add slipping” he says while standing on more crates and looking out the above window at her.
Sonic: “Slipping?”
Shadow: “Yeh in that tub of glue or hadn’t you noticed?” Shadow gave a little chuckle.
Sonic “I noticed!” he snapped“I’m just stalling!”
Shadow: “stallin? Man your not just gonna let her choke are ya?
Sonic: “no ….”he runs off and slowly saves the girl from the glue bringing her back to the store room. Dropping her on the ground he says “ …there you are Miss now I’ll be going” he about faces quickly to walk away.
Amy swings her arms round his neck “hey no wait thanks for saving me there so….erm” trying to make convocation she asks “What’s your name?”
Sonic mutters “ermm……Sonic……” while thinking you’ve been calling it the last half hour how could you not know? Adding quickly “well I better be going now” he ducks out of her arms and zooms off.
Amy: “no wait will I see you again?”
Sonic under his breath “hope not” then waves back “yeh I’m sure we’ll meet again don’t know where don’t know whennnnnn…” he yells back disappearing into the horizon.
Amy: “I hope so take care!”
Shadow walks up to her “so you’ve fallen for him? God knows why he’s a no good lazy …”
Amy cuts him off “Don’t say that he’s a real nice guy!” she turns to face him
Shadow: “where have you been livin? Under a rock” he gives another laugh before being hit with Amy’s hammer.
Shadow: “you …..” he yanks the hammer off her and snaps it in half over his knee “I don’t see why anyone puts up with you”.
Amy: “what do you mean?”
Shadow: “I mean your annoying!” he does an impression of her “ohI love him he’ll always be mine .. get a life” he tosses the hammer pieces to the floor.
Amy flops to floor nearly in tear she’d liked him a while but didn’t realise how many knew.
Shadow walks off while saying “he’s not coming back for you so you mite as well give up” as he disappears out the door it begins to rain, thunder and lightening.

Chapter 2
Next day
Sonic was walking around the small town “well I guess I should make a start on that job thing”
Larry a red hedgehog pipes up with “your looking for a job great” Larry walks right up to Sonic and dumps 3 heavy boxes on him “you can start right now it’s a steady pay and you get as much fresh chilli dogs as you can carry”
Sonic peeps over the boxes “alright I’m in” he speed stacks the boxes from the near by truck into an open shop Larry was pointing to.
Larry “wow you make this look easy great now you can meet the family!” he says walking into the shop “AAAAMMMYYY” he calls upstairs.
Sonic: “Amy?”
Larry: “yeah my daughter”
Amy bounces down the stairs “what dad I’m trying to study?
Larry: “meet the new staff”.
Sonic: “YOU?!”
Amy: “hey we did meet again” she beams a happy smile.
Larry puts his arms round the starry eyed Amy who had joined her fathers side and a worried Sonic who was thinking of quitting already “you two know each other good! Because you’re gonna be seeing at lot more of each other” he laughs and walks off.
Sonic: “what oh no I didn’t sign up for this I’m outta here I’m gone” he begins to walk off.
Amy: “aww but you promised him!”
Sonic hangs his head in defeat “these chilli dogs better be worth it”
Chapter 3
Learning the hard way
In the days to follow Sonic did a lot of hard work while Amy followed him around all day day dreaming and falling behind on her homework…..
One day a month or two later Larry was yelling at Amy “A D? You got a D in maths what are you doing child?”
Amy: “I’m sorry I’ll do better next time”
Larry: “next time next TIME? Girl you go to your room! I don’t want to see you till you’re spitting A’S”.
Amy runs off crying.
Sonic walks in carrying another heavy box wondering why he gets all the heavy work he sees Amy run off and asks “what’s going on?”
Larry: “she got a D on her maths test and her other subjects aren’t looking too bright either I just don’t know what’s got in to that girl man I had such high hopes for her..” Larry walks off shaking his head.
Sonic puts the box down and walks after Amy. he knocks on her bedroom door “Amy?”
Amy: “just go away leave me alone!”
Sonic opens the door and walk in “ah come on it’s me your dream boat” he gives her a smug smile “what’s been going on with your homework?”
Amy was sitting on the floor staring out the window “oh nothing it’s just got a lot harder and I don’t know where to start” she tosses the math quiz book towards his feet
Sonic picks it up and reads it “aww this is easy I’ll show ya how” he pulls up a seat at her desk and begins to help her study.
Chapter 4
Crushed

For many days they studied together and her grades improved again. Sonic slowly fell in love with her but Amy slowly fell out of love with him….
One day near the end of the school term Amy and Sonic was sitting in her room and she was now looking for a polite way to tell him to go away. “Look I appreciate all what you have done for me but I can handle this by my self now”.
Sonic: “oh I see” he looks down nervous of what to say “well maybe we could just go out for a shake sometime?”
Amy: “nah” she paused a bit looking down searching for the right words to say “now that I’m back on top with my homework I’m gonna have to keep it that way and that means a lot of hard work”
Sonic: “oh.. I see”
Amy: “you understand right?”
Sonic looks down sad face knowing he’s being rejected and leaves “yeh I understand”.
Somewhere in a near by forest Shadow was out walking spotting Sonic he says “hey long time no see where you been hiding?”
Sonic having stomped his way there looks up to see it was him before answering “ah go away I’m not in the mood for you right now”
Shadow: “ha ha you ran into that girl again didn’t you? And by the looks of things you’ve got your self a job” referring the apron he was wearing “it took you long enough”
Sonic takes the apron off and throws it on the floor “look Shadow just leave me alone get out of my face “
Shadow: “or you’re gonna what?”
Sonic: “bust your face up!”
Shadow laughs “you wouldn’t stand five minutes in a fight with me”
Sonic rushes at him. Shadow just steps back and trips him up. Sonic lands face first in the mud. Getting up he hears cries of help again. It was Amy! Eggman had her in a robotic hand attached to his Eggmobile and was rushing by. Eggman stops seeing them standing there to leave Sonic a “haha you can’t stop me message” before he pulls out a bomb which he drops as Amy hits him on the head with a spare hammer she keep for emergencies calling him a egghead.The bomb went off. The blast not only threw Sonic and Shadow backwards it threw Eggman forwards after rolling a bit Eggman still holding Amy got his Eggmobile up and running again flying off to the shore. Sonic gave chase right to the edge of the sea Shadow went off back to his shop not caring if she lived or died. Eggman flew to an island in the middle of the ocean and all Sonic could do was watch.
Sonic: “dam how the hell am I going to get over there?”
Tails was walking on the beach he over heard him seeing where Sonic was looking to he said “erm excuse me” he waited till Sonic spotted him before continuing “do you want to fly over there? I can help”
Sonic: “yeh?”
“yeh I’m a pilot and my workshops just over there” Tails says pointing backwards to it.
Sonic: “great lets get going them” and with that he grabs Tails and dragged him along at speed to get there.

Chapter 5
Where’d it go?
10 minutes later after hi’s, I am’s and whats going on’s anyway Tails was all set to go and they were off.
Flying over the spot where the island should be they had found it had gone!
Sonic standing on the wing leaning over the edge off the plane yells “what? Where is it you sure you went the right way?”
Tails: “yeh this is the spot”
Sonic: “but it’s gone” he looked around there were no islands anywhere apart from the one they had just left “how the heck do you lose an island?”
Tails: “me?!”
Sonic: “well it’s got to be here an island don’t just disappear”
Tails: “maybe it’s hidden”
Sonic: “hidden? How do you hide an island?”
Tails looked down at his radar “I don’t know but it’s still here according to this”
Sonic peeped down at it “well the god dam thing must be broken do you see it?”
Tails: “no but I’m gonna land on it” with that Tails took a sharp dive towards the water. Sonic had to grab the plane “are you crazy?” wishing he’d never met him. Sonic shut his eyes and felt a bump as it landed rather then a splash opening his eyes again they appeared to be floating on thin air.
Sonic: “see I told you it was here”
Tails: “you told me?”
Sonic jumps off the plane and straight into water up to his middle.
Tails: “looks like I just made the edge”
Sonic gives him a do you think look and runs threw the water towards the plane and hopefully shore “all well and dandy but how am I gonna find her when I can’t even see the land?”
While they were thinking off a plan Eggman had already clocked them on the island and sent out his army of robots to greet the new arrivals also hidden under what ever spelt he had over this island.
Tails: “well wait a minute I’m sure I can think of something”
Sonic stomped his foot up and down and crossed his arms “well hurry up about it!” suddenly he was knock flat to the floor “ what the?” he said as he narrowly rolls out the way of a laser beam.
Tails: “we’re under attack”
Sonic jumps about and spin dashes trying to hit whatever it was hitting them “do you think?”
Tails gets out the plane guns and starts shooting at them. He accidentally hits a hidden floating silver globe it fizzed and sparked before part of the land returned to site also revealing the remaining robots locations. Sonic quickly finishes them off.
Sonic: “well all we have to do is find the rest off them floating globes by the looks of things to find the land how hard can that be?
Tails transformed his plane into a walking machine and moved forward. he took aim and starting shooting ahead of him here and there. Hitting another globe it fizzed and died out revealing more land Sonic let Tails lead the way as they continued forward.
Eggman meanwhile had his hands full with Amy she’d broken free from the robots assigned to take her to her cell and was now causing chaos to every locked door and computer in her path with her hammer.
Eggman starts yelling at his useless robots as alarms blare “can’t you take care of one little girl???” the robots mumble apologies as the main computer a woman’s voice started to but in “sir?”
Eggman: “I’m busy I’ll do your tune up later!!”
Computer: “but sir!”
Eggman turns to the computer monitors to see what his computer wanted. He saw his Eggmobile being nicked by Amy. Eggman slams his fists down on the computer “why didn’t you say anything??” he yells at it!
Computer: “I did sir!” it then mutters to it’s self “you weren’t listening you big know it all”
Eggman stomps off to go and stop Amy before she learns how to start the Eggmobile up pulling the computers plug as he went.
Amy looks high and low in the Eggmobile for the start key. “start key start key come on you gotta be …ah ha!” she exclaims finding it behind the rear view mirror she shoves it in and starts it up.Eggman burst out just in time to see her leave!.
Chapter 6
Watch it!
Tails had finally run out of bullets
Sonic: “dam and we’re only half way there”
A sudden rustle got them to spin round before the Eggmobile came crashing out of a big thick bush like plant. Hitting the ground it tosses Amy out landing face first in a sandy bit.
Sonic: “hey you’re alive!”
Amy: “yeh no thanks to you!” she picked her self up just before being sweep off her feet by Sonic.
Sonic: “ok Tails change that thing back and lets get out of here!”
Tails did as asked and they were off into the air Amy still being held by Sonic on the wing of the plane. Eggman ordered they be shot down. As missiles flew Tails did his fancy flying getting them out of range. As soon as Tails had landed back at his workshop Sonic was off he had an idea for wooing Amy he took her to the most beautiful place you have ever seento watch the sun set before returning her home.
Her dad was so busy he hadn’t even notice she was gone or the great big hole in the wall where Eggman broke in! Larry thanked Sonic a lot as he was leaving and Amy shyly said “call me” as she wave good bye. Sonic smiled back taking out his mobile.
