The next morning I was in my bathroom getting ready to take a shower. Pulling my hair up into a loose ponytail, I grabbed my toothbrush squeezing some toothpaste onto it. Turning the faucet on briefly, I ran my toothbrush under the water before starting to brush my teeth.

Hearing the buzzer telling me someone was at my front door I sighed exiting through my bedroom and heading down the hallway to my front entrance, still brushing my teeth.

Twisting the lock and undoing the chain I pulled open the door to see Gabe standing there.

“Nice jammies,” he smirked at me making his way into my apartment as I shut the door before turning to face him.

“And the toothpaste,” he continued, pointing his finger to his own chin, “is the perfect finishing touch.”

I blushed, turning away and used the back of my hand to wipe my face clean.

“I’ll be right back.”

“Take your time,” he chuckled, heading into my kitchen.

Walking back to my bathroom I spit out the toothpaste, rinsing my mouth with water before drying my face on a towel.

Looking up at myself in the mirror I shook my head with a sigh. Pulling the hair tie from my hair, I pulled it up again - this time so it wasn’t sticking up all over the place. I smoothed out my yellow tank top and shorts the best I could before walking back through the apartment, finding Gabe sitting on my kitchen counter.

“Sorry about that, I wasn’t expecting you to just show up,” I said and he looked over at me, laughing slightly.

“It’s alright. You looked adorable. Still do,” he smiled.

Feeling the heat creep onto my face for the second time I walked over to the fridge hoping he hadn’t noticed.

“So, what are you doing here?” I asked and I heard him slide off the counter and walk up behind me.

“I have a few hours before I have to go to the studio and record and I was getting myself some coffee and I thought you might like some too.”

Leaning up again, I started to remind him that I didn’t much care for coffee but he cut me off, holding out a strawberry and cream frappucino.

“Then I remembered you don’t really like coffee so I got you this instead,” he smiled and I smiled back, taking it from him.

“Thank you.”

“No problem,” he said, going back over to the counter holding up a bag. “I got a bagel too.”

I chuckled and nodded, taking a seat as he popped it in the toaster before going into my fridge for the cream cheese.

“You just make yourself right at home, don’t you?” I joked and he glanced back at me grinning.

“You’re lucky I found my own place, or I might’ve just moved in.”

Is it just me or does it seem like he’s flirting? But then again, Gabe was naturally flirty and it seemed to have gotten worse since I’d last seen him so maybe this was normal for him. Still, I couldn’t help the hopeful butterflies springing to life in my stomach.

Trying to remain casual about his actions though, I simply laughed taking a sip of my frozen drink as he proceeded to root around in my kitchen drawers.

Finding what he had been looking for - a knife for the cream cheese - he grabbed the bagel from the toaster.

“Hey, when’s your next day off?” he asked as I flipped through an Alternative Press magazine that had been laying on my table.

“Uh, Thursday I believe. Why?”

He walked over to the table, setting a plate with half the bagel - the bottom half, my favorite - in front of me before taking a seat across from me with his half.

“Would you like to come check out the studio that day? Hang with me and the guys,” he asked, taking a bite.

“And Vicky,” I added for him with a chuckle and he grinned.

“She’s not here, don’t need to say it.”

I laughed, shaking my head, closing the magazine. “I’d love to…as long as I’m not in the way.”

He shook his head. “You won’t be.”

“Then I’ll be there,” I smiled, taking a bite of my bagel, “and thanks for breakfast by the way.”

He looked up at me and smiled. “No problem.”
