::CHAPTER FOUR START::

Emiliana's POV
Location: Shinya's Apartment
Time: 12:44 pm

I watched from Shinya's couch as he milled about the apartment picking up various things and placing them in their respective places. Smiling, I glanced out the window next to me at the beautiful day presenting itself outside. "Its lovely outside today..." I murmured as I continued to stare out the window. I heard Shinya stop picking up his apartment as he glanced over to the window. Smiling, he nodded.

"It sure is..." I turned my face to him, smiling, and nodding agreeably. He paused to stare out the window for a minute, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Emiliana? What would you say to taking a walk to the park with me? I have to walk Miyu anyway, and that will give us an excuse to get out of the house. What do you say?" He glanced over at me. I drew my eyebrows together in confusion.

"Who's Miyu?" I asked him.

A smile graced his lips as he began to laugh slightly. "I must have forgotten to introduce you to her. Miyu is my dog..." I smiled at him as he left the room, calling her name quietly. In a few minutes, he returned from the hallway that lead to the bedrooms with a small dog in his arms.

I laughed slightly. "I was half expecting her to be a larger dog, but that might explain why I didn't see her at all this morning..." He smiled at my comment.

"I found her in the wash basket in the laundry. I swear, she's just like a little kid; always getting into everything." Laughing I stood up and held my arms out, wanting to hold her. Shinya placed her carefully in my arms as I smiled down at the small dog I held.

"Hello little Miyu. My name is Emiliana. How are you today?" I questioned the dog as I held her closer to my face. She turned her head to look at me and then placed both of her paws on my shoulders, licking my face. I began to laugh as I tried to pull my face back from her torrent of puppy kisses.

Shinya began to laugh at my predicament. Carefully I sat back down on the couch and placed her down on my lap so she couldn't attack me with her tongue anymore. Miyu hopped down from my lap and scurried out of the room, back to wherever she had come from I guessed. That was Shinya's cue to start talking. "So, do you want to go? I'll understand if you don't..." He smiled politely.

I nodded. "Sure. I'd love to go..." Nodding, he stood.

"Well, then I'll just go get Miyu's leash. Do you think you can go back and hunt for her while I get it?" he asked as I nodded in answer.

Making my way back to the hallway, I began to search for the small dog in a bunch of different rooms. I finally found her in what I guessed was Shinya's bedroom, standing on his bed at the foot of it. She wagged her tail and almost seemed to have a sort of smile on her face as I walked into the room, although I was probably just seeing things. I gently picked her off of the bed and made my way out of his room with her in my arms. Reaching the front door, I handed her to Shinya who already had her leash in his hand. He linked it to her collar and then placed her on the ground.

"Are you ready to go?" he asked me. I thought for a second and then remembered that I didn't have any shoes on. Looking down at my feet, Shinya got the hint and smiled. "I've got a few pairs that you might like that you can borrow."

I smiled thankfully at him. "Thanks..."

Shinya's POV
Location: On a walk at the park
Time: A little bit after 1 pm

A few birds tweeted as we walked under the trees of the park. The pathway of which we walked upon was scattered with leaves and fallen flowers that once had bloomed from the various trees above our heads. Miyu was ahead of us slightly, walking along, her tail wagging happily.

Emiliana and I had been talking about her. Who she was, what kinds of things she did and liked; simple things like that.

"So, are you working anywhere?" I questioned her as I kept an eye on Miyu. She had been eying a squirrel sitting on the edge of the path that was eating an acorn.

She nodded. "Yeah. I'm a hairstylist at a salon. We specialize in Visual Kei type hair designs and cuts. But we do others too." I glanced over at her as we walked along.

"Really? Thats pretty cool. How long have you been working there?" She smiled and shrugged.

"Eh, about 3 years now? I've been here in Japan for about 4 years, and after being here a year studying to be a hairstylist, I was finally able to become one." She stopped abruptly as a frown crossed her face.

"Speaking of that, I need to get back to work soon..." I stopped walking and looked back at her.

"Well, I've been thinking. The first thing that you need to do is get yourself together fully. Then we need to go see the police to let them know you've been found..." Her eyes widened slightly at my last statement.

"Oh yeah. I forgot about that. How could I forget about that?" She paused and thought for a moment before saying, "Well I feel like I've gotten myself together as much as I possibly can. So I guess maybe we should go see the police today. That is, if its okay with you?" She looked over at me.

I felt Miyu pulling on the leash, so I motioned for us to start walking again. She complied, and we continued walking as we continued our conversation. "Yeah. I was actually going to say that we should go to the police today..." She looked over at me and smiled.

"You know, I never really got the chance to properly thank you for all that you've done for me." I made a move to act humble about it, but she cut me off before I could say a word. "No. Don't pretend like its nothing. It's everything, and more. You saved my life... And there isn't anything I could do for you that could possibly equal that. The most I can do right now is say thank you..." I nodded and smiled over at her, blushing slightly.

"You're welcome..." I said quietly as she smiled a bit in my direction.

"Shinya?" she questioned. I looked up at her as she said my name.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Mind if I walk Miyu for a bit? We can head to the police station now if you want... You know, to get that out of the way. You'll just have to lead the way..." I nodded once more.

"Sure. And the police station is actually just around the corner..." I handed off the leash to her as we continued down the sidewalk. It was quiet between us until we got there, but on the way there I couldn't help but admire her.

She was undoubtedly beautiful, one of the prettiest girls I had seen in a long while. Her complexion was very pale, almost snow white, which contrasted greatly to her raven black hair. It fell down her back in straight pieces, waves, and a few loose ringlets reaching almost to her lower back. Her eyes were a bright blue color which stood out more against her pale skin. She wasn't really tall; she had to be as short as Kyo was. But she had a normal sized frame, and she had all the right curves in all the right places.

I blushed slightly as I thought this. 'What is it about her that makes me think such things? I've known her for not even a day...' I thought as I rounded a corner.

Emiliana followed behind me with Miyu right on my heels. As soon as we reached the police station though, I cleared all thoughts from my head other than letting the proper authorities know that the killers latest victim hadn't become a victim in the end.

"We're here..." I announced as I looked back to Emiliana.

Emiliana's POV

Location: Police Station
Time: Around 2 pm

"Can you tell us as much as you possibly can about the night you were abducted? We need you to try to recall this; it might help us in locating your abductor." A cop stood in front of me, pacing. Another cop sat in the corner of the room, writing down anything that I said that was interesting or anything I said that might come in handy with their investigation.

I was sitting at a metal table in the middle of a room. Shinya sat at another chair in a different corner in the room. He sat silently, listening to what I said. He wanted to know what had happened to me as well. I took a deep breath and looked down at my hands, which sat in front of me on the edge of the table.

"Well, I had gone to work, just like every day for the past three years. I work at the hair salon called V.K. Silly name, I know... But anyway, I was locking up the place because Hiro had to attend to a family emergency earlier that day, and we all look out for each other there. She asked me to lock up the place for her when I was off my shift that night. She's the one who owns V.K."

The officer pacing stopped me before I could finish to ask me, "Who is Hiro?"

"Chihiro. She's the owner of V.K and also works there. She's a good friend of mine..." He nodded as he looked over at his partner who was writing a few things down in his notepad.

Then he looked back at me as he said, "Continue..."

"Well, I locked up the shop and started walking back to my apartment. It was... I think it was a bit after 10 at night? I'm not really sure...Anyway, I had this feeling of being watched, but I tried to ignore it as best as I possibly could. I thought I was just being paranoid, because I didn't see anyone anywhere around me at all. I was about half way to my apartment though, when he attacked me out of nowhere. He came from the alleyways of one of the buildings and came up behind me, wrapping his arm around my mouth and the other around my waist to drag me into the alley. When he finally wrestled me to the ground, he choked me. It wasn't enough to kill me; he didn't want me dead yet. It was only enough to knock me out so I wouldn't struggle anymore. And thats about all I can remember of that night..."

The officer nodded as he turned to his partner. "Did you get that all?" he questioned him. The other officer nodded, not once saying a word. "Good" the first officer said as he turned back to look at me.

Then he said, "Now I know this may be a little painful emotionally and mentally to try to recall, but what all did he do to you while you were in his custody?" I bit my lip, trying to think. I was a bit uncomfortable talking about this with them, but they were just cops who wanted to help.

"Well, I'm not really sure of where it was that he was keeping me at with the other girls. But while I was in his custody... well..." I paused and looked down at my hands, which were clasped tightly together in my lap. The cops looked to me expectantly, waiting for a reply. Shinya looked towards the floor.

A small tear leaked from the corner of my eye as I started to talk again. "Well, he would say things. Horrible things. He would tell me about what he did to the other girls, and what he wanted to do to me. He liked to call me his 'Masterpiece' like I was a piece of artwork or something; like I belonged to him." I stopped talking for a minute as more tears rolled down my face. Wiping them away as best I could with the backs of my hands, I continued to talk with a shaky voice. "Multiple times he would slap me or punch me; anything that would make him feel superior... He... He had this butchers knife. It was, I guess, his favorite thing to torture us with. He did so to me many times. The last thing he did to me with that God-forsaken knife was cut a gash into my leg, a deep one." I tilted my leg to the side so they could see the healing wound. "And... And I just remember how the other girls used to cry." The tears rolled down my face as I sniffed. "When he first abducted me, he kept me in a room with some of the other girls that he hadn’t yet toyed with. Those girls were some of my closest friends. We weren't friends before then, but we grew so close because we were all in the same situation..." I looked up at them as I tried to stop crying.

Shinya was looking at me, sadness clouding his eyes. He had already answered all of the officers questions earlier.

The cop who had been asking me all the questions spoke up again. "Do you know if there are any other victims that the police don't know about? Are any of the girls still alive?

"No officer" I said. "He didn't take any girls after me, as far as I'm aware. And the only other girl that might be alive is Lorrie... but I highly doubt that now."

"Who is Lorrie? We'll have to check our missing person's lists..." said the officer as he sat down in another chair across from me, tired of pacing back and forth.

"She was a girl who worked with me at VK. She was kidnapped a week or so before I was... She was the last one in the warehouse with me..."

"Where is this warehouse at?" he asked. I shrugged, because I really didn't know.

"I can answer that one..." Shinya said quietly from the other side of the room. The officer turned his attention to him, waiting for a reply. Shinya told him the street name, and where he should be able to get into the field at. The officer nodded, stood, and excused himself from the room.

The other officer who had been sitting in the chair the whole time spoke up finally as he stood from his chair. "Would you two like to come with me. We have some forms you need to fill out..." Shinya and I both nodded. The officer lead the way as Shinya and I walked next to each other out of the room.

Shinya's POV

Location: Police Station
Time: Sometime after 4 pm

It had taken us a little while to fill out all the paperwork, but we had finally finished and were just about to leave.

I stood at the entrance with Emiliana as she leaned against one of the walls, her head in her hands. She was thinking about things, and I didn't want to interrupt her, so I just waited until she was done. With a heavy sigh, she stood up from the wall and looked to me. "I'm ready to go now..." she said.

Just as we were about to leave, one of the officers from before came running up to us. "Excuse me, but we need you both to come with us..." I looked at him confused, and then looked over at Emiliana. She wore the same expression on her face.

"Why?" she questioned him.

"We... need you to identify someone, Miss Dreyer..."

"Identify someone?" she asked again.

He frowned. "Just come with me. You'll understand when you get there..."

The officer lead the way out of the police station and to his patrol car. We both got in the back as he got in the drivers seat, and took off.

On the way there, we didn't say much. We both just sort of stared out the windows of the patrol car. All the while I was wondering who it was that she had to identify. I had a sickening feeling in my stomach, because I was getting the feeling that I knew who it was.

But from just looking at Emiliana, I could tell that she knew deep down inside who it was. And it looked as if it was eating her apart.

We arrived at the bar not too long afterwards. Both of us exited the car after the police man did. We followed him down the same ally that I had been in a day or so earlier, having to duck under yellow tape used to keep people away from a crime scene, and avoid other officers who had already swarmed the premises. He took us through the gates, and through the tall grasses to the back door of the run down warehouse. Emiliana looked pale and sick at the sight of the building. I could only imagine the memories that were coming back to her from just being there.

We passed through the door to the building. Another officer met with the one who was leading us.

"This way" was all the one who met us there said.

So we followed him to one of the back rooms. Emiliana gripped onto my arm as we stopped in front of an open door. I looked down to her face as she stood next to me. She was trembling, and she looked like she was about to cry, but she held strong.

I took her hand in mine to comfort her. "Its okay. I'm here..."

She nodded her head. But she didn't open her mouth to acknowledge me. I knew it was because she didn't want to get sick.

Stepping through the door, we were greeted with the sickening smell of blood, and an even worse sight to go with it.

Random body parts littered the room. Arms, legs; it didn't matter. They were there.

Most of them were being taken away or examined by Medical Examiners, but some of them were not yet taken away.

I could feel her start to shake more. Her face grew paler at the sight as we were lead to a corner that was partly hidden by some crates.

In the corner, there was a white sheet that lay over something crumpled, or rather, someone. The person who was documenting the body looked up from their clipboard and frowned, seeing the state that Emiliana was currently in.

He sighed. "Do you know who this is?" he questioned Emiliana as he pulled back the sheet slightly.

Cold, dead eyes seemed to stare straight back at us. Cold, blue eyes. I could feel the color drain from my face as well, but I was sure that I wasn’t in as bad as a position as Emiliana was.

Emiliana gasped, taking a quick intake of air. Then she began to shake even more as she started crying. "O-Oh God... Lorrie..." Her tears fell freely from her eyes as she began to look as if she would get sick.

Then she started to tilt to the side a bit, almost as if she was going to faint. The bile in her throat began to rise, and the room around her started to spin.

I grabbed for her frantically as she started to collapse against the concrete floor. "Emiliana! Are you okay?" I asked desperately as she grabbed onto my arms for support.

"Shinya... I-I... I feel like..." she stuttered out.

And then she fainted.

Holy hell! I can't believe its done! *sigh*
