I Want You To Mean It-Alex Gaskarth-1
Chapter 2 : I Want You To Mean It-Alex Gaskarth 2
Leah would always get asked the same question. "How can a band of 20 year olds be your heroes?" Her answer: these four boys inspired her to learn how to play music and their music was there with her through some of the toughest times in her life.
She wasn't the typical fan girl either. Yes she loved them and would love to meet them but she would never expose herself in nasty ways to get their attention. Some girl in the line wrote Alex Gaskarth on her boobs and others had homemade t-shirts that said "Marry Me Alex?" She hated the fact that he was the only one that got all the attention in the band. "It takes all four of them to make the music you know?" she would tell people who only liked Alex.
"Leah, I'm going to the bathroom." Said Leah's best friend Gabby. They had been friends since they were in diapers. They went to every school together and grew to love the same band. All Time Low.
They had been waiting under the blazing sun for nearly four hours. Every time this band would play near them they would find a way to make it. Even if they had to drive a couple of miles more, they would do it.
Finally the doors opened. The line began moving and Leah and Gabby got to be in the standing crowd. First played The Maine, then Mayday Parade and finally came All Time Low. Even before they started playing everyone started going wild and girls were throwing bras at them. Jack, as always, put one of them on his microphone.
After playing a couple of songs they began joking. "Wouldn't it suck if…" began Jack. "All these sexy girls in the crowd had penises." The girls screamed wishing that there would be a way that one of them could get in their pants. "This song is about my herpes. Its called Break Out! Break Out!" The way they played live always amazed Leah. They looked like they had so much fun. Other bands just stood in one spot, but All Time Low was all over the place.
After they played a couple of more songs Zack Rian and Jack went backstage. Matt brought Alex a guitar and a stool.
"Anyone want to have a one night stand tonight?" he asked as he fixed the strings. The girls went even crazier and screamed as loud as their lungs would allow them to.As if, thought Leah to herself.
He waited for the place to quiet down before he began playing the guitar.
The lights out,
I still hear the rain,
These images that fill my head,
Now keep my fingers from making mistakes,
Tell my voice what it takes,
To speak up,
Speak up,
and keep my conscience clean when I wake.
Jasey Rae was one of Leah's favorite songs. She felt like Alex had a lot of guts to basically apologize to a girl he fucked over. Whether it was true or not.
Don't make this easy,
I want you to mean it,
Jasey. (say you mean it)
You're dressed to kill,
I'm calling you out, (don't waste your time on me)
When Alex looked into the crowd, Leah noticed that his eyes were focused on her. But she didn't want to believe it. She thought maybe he just doesn't want the light in his eyes.
Now there's an aching in my back;
a stabbing pain that says I lack,
the common sense and confidence,
to bring an end to promises,
that I make in times of desperate conversation,
hoping my night could be better than theirs in the end.
Just say when.
She finally believed it when she pointed to herself like an idiot and he lightly nodded and winked at her.
Don't make this easy,
I want you to mean it,
Jasey. (say you mean it)
You're dressed to kill,
I'm calling you out, (don't waste your time on me)
Leah could hear girls around her whispering, "OMG Alex winked at me." She wished she could have said, "STFU, it was for me." She sang along with him as her favorite lyrics came up.
I've never told a lie,
and that makes me a liar,
I've never made a bet,
but we gamble with desire,
I've never lit a match,
with intent to start a fire,
but recently the flames,
are getting out of control.
Call me a name,
Kill me with words,
Forget about me,
It's what I deserve,
I was your chance,
to get out of this town,
but I ditched the car,
and left you to,
Wait outside,
I hope the air will serve to remind you,
that my heart is as cold as the clouds of your breath,
and my words are as timed as the beating in my chest.
After the concert Leah and Gabby waited outside for the bands. When they heard the screaming fans they knew where to go. Leah and Gabby waited in line, again. Girls screamed as they got their pictures taken with the boys.
"Ugh, I hate screaming fan girls." Said Gabby.
"Me too," agreed Matt out of nowhere as he walked by. Gabby and Leah couldn't help but laugh.
They got their shirts signed by Zack, Rian and Jack. When Leah got to Alex he looked up at her and his eyes grew wide. He quickly stood up and extended his hand to her. "I'm Alexander Gaskarth."
"Leah Singer." She said back as she held his hand.
"That's the girl." Said Rian in a whisper to himself.
