Chapter 10 : The Best Story about Hogwarts.you.will.EVER.read...EVER! Chapter 7: The Comeback Kid
*Cori's POV* ~Friday during lunch~
I couldn't stand to be at lunch, I was still too depressed about Skylar leaving. I headed for the dungeons after Defense Against the Dark Arts. I was looking at the stone floor, not paying attention to anything. Suddenly Iran into something tall and hard. My books and quills flew everywhere and I bent down to pick them up. "Think you could watch where you're going?" I snapped to whoever I bumped into.
"I'm sorry about that," the person said. They had a deep voice, so I assumed it was an older guy. "I didn't mean to. Here, let me help." I looked up as a boy who was, I'm guessing a fifth year, with brown hair and grey eyes.
"Thanks," I said, softly. "I'm sorry I snapped at you, I'm just not in a really good mood." I apologized. The boy smiled.
"That's alright." he said. "I'm Cedric, by the way," he said extending his hand. "Cedric Diggory." I smiled and shook his hand.
"Cori Wright." I stood up and he handed me my things. "Thanks for helping me." I said, taking my stuff.
"No problem," he looked at me and smirked.
"What?" I asked, looking down to see if I had any inkspots on my clothes.
"Well," he said. "It might be just me, but I thought Slytherins were supposed to be evil, and you're pretty nice."
"Well, we try our best, but we can't always be, you know, evil, caniving(sp?) people." Cedric smiled. "I'd say that you're pretty nice for a Hufflepuff, but, then again, aren't all of you suppose to be nice?"
"There are some Hufflepuffs that have a dark side as well." He said. I laughed and looked down at my books again.
"Well, I should get going, thanks again for helping me pick up my stuff."
"No problem. It was nice to meet you."
I smiled. "I bet you never thought you'd say that to a Slytherin." Cedric shrugged. "It was nice to meet you, too." He smiled and we parted ways. I walked past the entrance to the Great Hall when I was suddenly soaked with water. I looked up with alook of shock on my face and I saw the Weasley twins, Fred and George laughing their heads off and waiting for me to explode. But instead of yelling at the top of my lungs, I started to laugh... really hard. They just looked at me strange and then looked at each other.
"What's wrong with you, Wright?" Fred asked. I just kept laughing. After a few minutes I eventually did calm down.
"I think she's mad." I heard George say to Fred.
"I'm not mad," I said to them. "That was really fun, thanks for that, guys, I really needed it." I walked to the dungeon entrance and heard Fred say, "She's definintely mad."
~10 minutes later~
I placed my books down on my bed and magicked them dry. I did the same to my outfit and picked up my cell phone and I noticed a message on it. It was from Skylar.
"Hey, Cori," Sky's voice said. "It's Skylar. Thought I'd let you know that I'm at home and that mom and dad send their love. Oh, yeah, and their forcing me to go back to school, so, I'll see you on Sunday. Oh, and also, whatever you do, DO NOT TELL BLAISE! You may tell Draco if you wish, but just tell him to not tell Blaise, and, like, yeah, whatever, bye."
I smiled at my phone and did my happy dance. YAY! I thought. Skylar's coming back!
