Chapter 13 : Only a Vampire can Love you Forever[Part 8]Bite Me

"Where is this?" I showed her the picture of the platform and she looked up at me like I was a weirdo. I made sure I couldn't see it from where I was so I knew I had to ask to find it. The lady gave me a weird look for a couple more seconds before she sat back in her chair and decided to help me.
"Go over here." She pointed to the left of the booth. "And there should be a door. If you go through and go down the stairs you get onto a concrete slab just keep going until you reach platform 33."
"Thank you."
I rushed off to the left and went through the wooden door to find instant darkness, but there was another light to see where you're going. I headed down the stairs onto the concrete slab like the woman said and headed down it. There were columns here and there that had different platforms printed on them and I sped up a little because it started off with 28. There was a train sitting there on the right side where the larger numbers were so I knew I was obviously supposed to be here but I was just hoping the train didn't take off before I got onto it.
I got down to platform 33 and the train was still there so I went to the nearest compartment area that was open. A black man who looked cute in his big muscle way helped me on board the train. I already had enough scary experiences on trains so I wasn't happy with getting on but as long as I was down in one of the comfortable seats I was going to be just fine. I moved down until I found a vacant one next to a scrawny thirty-year guy and sat down. The man only glanced at me before turning to look back outside the window. I would have wanted the window seat but I didn't really care at that moment I just wanted this train to move and stop so I could get off.
"This is the train to Sheridan. The food court won't be open until five minutes after we take off. Please enjoy your ride and thank you for choosing Amtrak."
It wasn't until a couple minutes after the man got off the intercom that we finally started to move. The beginning jerk reminded me of the time the train ran into my truck but I only closed my eyes and wished the thoughts away. All through out my troubles I didn't have that bad of a time trying to push away all the bad thoughts that I had. Most of the time my mind was to cluttered with other things to really even think about it so just like the other times I changed the subject and thought about Kaylyn. I was just about to pull out the new phone I had when the familiar black guy came up to my seat.
"Can I see your tickets?"
Panic. My throat was suddenly dry as I watched the guy next to me get out his train ticket. I just sat there dreading over the fact that I couldn't hand him anything to indicate that I paid for this ride. Well it turns out Kaylyn isn't that smart after all. I didn't know what to do at that moment. I could pretend I lost it, but I knew that wouldn't work for very long. I just had to tell the guy because I was just going to get off at the next stop anyway. Once there I could probably just run away. I decided that was the best thing to do so when he looked toward me for my ticket I merely said.
"I don't have mine."
He looked at me oddly and made a frown face, "What is your name?"
"Samantha." I answered hating the way he was looking at me accusingly, but then when my name sunk in he smiled.
"Kaylyn's, Samantha?"
I blinked and then blinked again. It turns out Kaylyn wasn't that stupid after all. "Yeah, that's me."
"Already paid for." He gave me that smile again before taking a pink ticket thing and sticking it to the top of our seat number. I looked around and noticed that the people behind us had the same thing so it must have meant that we had our tickets. The man walked off and I was left there flabbergasted. Kaylyn had this all planned out and it was beginning to scare me. I wanted to find out what was at the end of all this and at the same time I didn't. What I really wanted was this tracking device off of me so I could at least try to escape.
I shook my head for a second before leaning back against my chair and looking at the new phone I had. It was small for a phone and looked more like a small stick then an actual phone. It was a Verizon phone and it had Samsung on it but it didn't say exactly what type it was. I actually had to push the top to the side so it swiveled open and showed the keys. I started to mess around with the phone trying to see what kind of stuff I could find on it. I went to the menu and immediately went to the first thing on the list. Music.
When I clicked on it a message popped up saying, Close phone to continue. I did just that and used the little spinning button to go through the thing that was like an ipod. I was sort of depressed that I didn't have any headphones because I would have loved to listen to music but instead I looked through the stuff it had. Of course it had Alesana and some other bands that I loved like Bullet for my Valentine and Chiodos. I was looking through the Chiodos songs when the screen lit up and the phone started to vibrate announcing that I had a new text message.
I opened it up and read, "Get off at first stop." It was just on time because not five seconds after I read it the intercom came on.
"We're entering Sheridan now."
I rolled my eyes and closed the phone before putting it back into my pocket. Just then when I reached back to tug on my backpack I noticed that I didn't have it on. I felt scared thinking that I lost it, but after a quick review over everything that happened I remembered that I just left it at the dinner. I felt stupid to leave it, but I was heading to Kaylyn [I hoped] so I didn't need it. As the train started to slow down I started to think about Kaylyn a little more. Why was he going through all this trouble? One, all the trouble of making me go around places and two, the trouble of seeing me. I thought a bit to decide that he was making me go around and around just to get the guys off my trail, because of the tracking device. The second one I really didn't have an idea because I knew that because I said I hated him he was helping me.
That meant he obviously cared about me in some way, but if it was because I kissed him or because he knew I was his lifemate I had no idea. I wasn't even for sure I really was his lifemate but with the way I was feeling inside it sure damn felt like it. As the train came to a stop I made myself promise that if I did see him again I would make him bite me. I wanted him to know, and I wanted to know if I was truly his lifemate. I didn't care if I had to come face to face with those fangs of his; quite frankly I was looking forward to it.
I got up from the train when it came to a full stop and when everyone else started to exit off I followed in pursuit. When I got off the train I looked around the people for any sign of Kaylyn or just anything but that was when I got a text message. I pulled the phone free from my pocket and headed into the train station like most of the other people. I quickly flipped the phone open and saw that the new text message was actually a picture message.
I opened it to find myself looking at a nice metallic silver yet black Aston Martin DB9 and immediately fell in love. I knew when I closed the phone and headed out to the parking lot that I would find it parked out there. The parking lot wasn't that big so I quickly took a side and started to look around for the car. It would have been much easier if I had the button to make it beep, but right when I was going to start up in another row I saw the back of a nice shiny black car. I didn't recognize it that much from the back but I went to the front and checked it out to find that it was the same car that I had in the picture message. I smiled a sinful smile as I glanced behind the phone, but ignored my horrible thoughts and got into the car.
The interior of the car was just as good as the exterior with leather seats that hugged your body. It seemed like a car that was fresh from the market yet it didn't because when I started to fiddle with the digital ipod radio in the thing I found that Kaylyn suited up the car with good music. I was looking through the music when suddenly something beeped at me. It wasn't that high pitched but it was loud enough to rattle my cage. I looked directly to the source and found another GPS system attached to the windowsill and from the look of it; it already had a destination to go to. I tapped the screen because I couldn't see the star and after the thing swiveled to the star I knew that I had another place to go to.
I sighed and looked around for the car keys but they were already there right in the ignition waiting for me. I turned the car on and for once enjoyed the silence of the engine. I would have preferred a motorcycle but Kaylyn sure knew how to pick cars because this thing had to be expensive. It made me feel bad as I backed up because that meant he had to keep the car keys in this nice car the entire time. He also had to trust me to drive it, but again if he was like the Kaylyn in my dream world then money wasn't something he had to worry about.
As soon as I was out of the parking lot I sped off toward the direction of the glowing green star. I was tempted to put the brights on the car as I went through town but I ignored the stupid impulse for trouble and drove legally, well except for speed. While I was going through the easy roads I started messing with the music and turned it up as loud as it would go. I knew he had subs in the car when the back of my seat started to vibrate. I would have kept it on but I didn't feel like getting sick so I turned it down and sung along with whatever song came on. I knew most of the songs but with the songs that I didn't know I sung the chorus after the second time I heard it. The music seemed to speed up time and it only seemed like a couple short minutes before I was heading down the street toward the green star.
The street looked like a rich village with houses on both sides that were beautiful. This had to be the richy rich area and I had an odd feeling like it wasn't humans who owned these places. I was expecting to have to turn off the road but when the star showed a white house I slowed down until I was directly in front of the drive way. I could easily turn and drive up still but for some reason I didn't feel like the house was correct. It was a white house that looked too innocent to have anyone inside. I knew if Kaylyn was still doing all this stuff that he would be the one in that house, but the nerves of seeing him again were started to arise.
I swallowed a lump in my throat and forced my hands to turn the steering wheel. I didn't know why I was being so stupid. If it was the wrong house I could just apologize and leave, it wasn't like who ever was in there was going to shoot me.
I pulled into the drive cautiously still, parked the car, turned off the lights, and got out of the vehicle. When I looked around it seemed even plainer up close but I closed the car door and headed toward the door. There was a small patio that led up to an ordinary wooden door that had glass on both sides. I wanted to peek through but the glass was covered up. It did appear like someone was inside because the lights were on. My nerves were starting to get to me and I could feel that double person come forward who always seemed to come out when I wanted to steal something. I wasn't going to go in and rob the people though so I pushed her aside and rang the doorbell. The sound echoed through out the house but there wasn't any movement on the inside for quite awhile and I was about to turn around and leave when my phone suddenly went off.
I thought it was an odd time for a phone to go off, but I quickly grabbed it and read the new text message.
Come in
I gave the cell phone a weird look because it seemed like someone was lazy or they were just being retarded. I had a feeling that Kaylyn was in the house so when I reached down to open the door I felt confident, but at the same time nervous.
I opened the door easily and slid inside the house to find the one vampire I wanted to see on the other side. He was standing there waiting patiently, but he did have a look on his face that said, 'what took you so long?'
"So why did you have me go through so much trouble?" I found myself asking ask I closed the door behind me without taking my eyes off of him. He was just such a site to see because he actually existed this time and my heart rejoiced because of it. I shouldn't have allowed it since I had no idea if he was going to be on my side or what he wanted with me. It appeared like he wanted to help me since he told me about the tracking device and he went through all the trouble to just get me to this house.
His reply wasn't one I liked all too much because it started off with a shrug. I looked at him oddly as he said, "It seemed like fun." My eyebrows raised a fraction before my eyes turned into a deathly glare. He made me go through all of that just because he thought it would be fun. Well, it would appear to be the same Kaylyn I was with. He only smiled a cute innocent smile that had my hormones doing a jig when he saw me glaring. "Plus I had to make sure they went on a goose chase to figure out what you are up to."
I nodded my head with a short "Oh" and tried to figure out why the heck I was even here. Kaylyn wanted to help me that much I knew, but why would we be in a house if they could easily track us here. There had to be a reason why we were here and without too much thought it came to me. "So, do you know how we get this tracking device out of me?"
"I have to get it out of your blood stream." He answered with a nod. My eyes narrowed in a confused sort of way because it didn't look like there were any tools around that would help him with that. I stopped looking around and stared directly at him when a thought occurred to me. The way he said it I couldn't help but get the impression that he would need to use those fangs of his as tools to abstracting the device.
"You have to bite me don't you?" I asked with a slight nervous look on my face. I shouldn't have been scared since I wanted him to bite me earlier when I was riding on the bike, but I wasn't exactly use to the whole biting thing yet. His answer was a nod and a questioning look in his eyes. I knew what he was asking so I sighed. "Fine I was going to have you do it anyway if I found you." His eyes narrowed in the way that asked, 'why' so I quickly thought of the answer myself. "So you'd know who and what I am."
Technically I didn't even know if I was what I thought I was but I had this gut feeling that it was true. If it was true I wanted to know so it was the easiest way, I just hoped my blood sang to him and he wouldn't be ignorant toward it.
"And what are you?" He asked making me want to smirk for some reason.
"You'll find out."
He nodded but looked at me straight on with a warning. "There's one thing though I don't know where the microchip is so I might have to drain you."
"Not kill me right?" I asked a little worried at the look in his eyes.
"No, just knock you out."
I breathed out a long sigh and though for a moment. Before long I started pacing a little because the prospect of being knocked out didn't sit to well with my stomach and it was starting to jumble up. I had to move around other wise I was afraid it was going to coil up so bad I wouldn't be able to move. I wanted the microchip out of me, but could I trust Kaylyn? I felt like I could but I didn't know for sure. I hated the feeling because I was so afraid of ever going back to sleep. It was just a strong fear that it sent me on edge.
"What?" I almost jumped at his voice but I looked at him to see that he was wondering why I was freaking out so badly.
"I haven't fully slept for-" I paused for a second because I had no idea how long it had been since I actually slept. "-A long time. I'm afraid he'll find me again."
"Who?" It didn't seem like he knew everything because this perplexed him.
"I don't know his name." I thought up all the information I knew about him or what I thought I knew about him. "He works with immortals I think and solves crimes by getting into their head and finding out what happened."
His eyes narrowed and there was a look of recognition. "Elliot De La Cruz? But he only works with immortals."
Even though I never heard that name before it sent shivers down my spine and I knew that was him. It didn't seem like Kaylyn believed me all that much because it appeared Elliot had a reputation with only immortals. "I'm his mortal experiment."
He looked at me oddly but before he spoke he directed me into another room. I didn't notice until I started walking that direction that I was actually wobbling on my feet. Kaylyn must have noticed for he took me into a room that looked like a living room but it only had a couch and tv. He sat me down on the small tan couch and finished what he was going to say. "But why?"
"I don’t know. He created this whole virtual world inside of my head." The thought of it had me thankful that I was no longer standing up because even my hands started to shake a little.
"And I'm thinking I was there?" I looked at him oddly for a second wondering how he would know that, but it was very quite simple because I would I know him enough to say that I hate him and kiss him if he never met me in his life.
"Yes, I thought I was in real life but I've just been in a lab the entire time." I felt winded from talking about it, but I forced steady breaths through my mouth and lungs.
"That's why he wants you back so bad." He was looking down while he spoke this but I looked at him weirdly.
"What?"
He looked directly at me and captured my gaze, "We can't perform experiments on humans only on immortals and even the we're restricted."
I thought for a second and started to feel a pinch of hope when I heard the news. There was a chance I could get out of this. "So if I told your big main people he'd be in trouble?"
"Yes."
I felt a sudden urge and immediately I got to my feet, "Then why are we sitting around here then?"
It seemed that it wasn't as easy as I was picturing for Kaylyn grabbed my shoulders and pushed me back down onto the couch and told me so. "It isn't that easy." I gave him a questioning look and he explained, "He controls most of the big men since he's pretty big on solving crimes. The guys that are chasing you are actually the cops for immortals. That's why I'm helping you I was curious as to why they were going after you when you're human."
I sighed a little because I didn't like when this got harder. I thought of what I knew about the Kaylyn in my dream and soon I came up with another question when I thought of Kaylyn's profession. "You work with them don't you?"
"In a different department but yes."
I slumped back against the couch not seeing how that was supposed to help me. The situation seemed helpless and it sucked because I was never going to be free it felt like. "This sucks. What are we supposed to do now?"
"I'll figure out something but we need to get that microchip out of you." I looked at him with a scared look this time because I came back to the dilemma of having to be knocked out. I might have wanted him to bite me before, but that was when I thought it wouldn't be that much blood.
"I don't know." I admitted looked at him with a frightened look.
He brought his hand forward and touched my cheek gently but the feeling of his cold flesh against mine felt soothing. "I won't let anything happen to you."
I felt my heart warm and I felt like the ice I had built around it was starting to break open. I didn't want that happen though so I quickly fought his fire with mine and acted annoyed. "Fine."
He looked at me skeptically, but I gave a sigh before collecting my hair. I wasn't so sure and I was positive my shaking hands, as I put my hair around my right shoulder, showed that. He must have caught my hesitation for he was very cautious as he grabbed my face in one hand and my shoulder in the other. I started to feel that same nervousness creep up inside my stomach even though it was there the entire time as he slowly leaned in. I hated when he had to go in slowly if he would just hurry up in bite me I felt like my suffering wouldn't be as bad. He was finally close enough to feel his hairs brushing against my neck in an agonizing caress but I swallowed the lump in my throat and forced myself to calm down. This wasn't going to be the first time I was bitten, but I guess it was in real life. I suddenly felt like I made a mistake because it was real life, but it was to late because Kaylyn kissed my neck.
I felt a shutter go down my spine but Kaylyn held me still as his mouth opened and his fangs split my skin. I felt the exact precision of his fangs entering and then puncturing my artery but I didn't feel any pain and actually I didn't feel anything until he started to drink the nectar of my life. I didn't know why it always felt like fire, but this time it seemed a little more intense then when it was in the virtual world. The pain brought with it a feeling of strong pleasure and I couldn't help but moan as he drained me. When I moaned he grabbed a hold of me as if he would never let me go, and began sucking harder so the fire burned deeper and deeper until I was lost in the haze of the heat.
Then all to fast a quick cooling sensation washed through out me as he pulled his mouth free from my neck. The cooling sensation seemed to bring with it a feeling of sleepiness and before I knew it I was out. I slumped against Kaylyn fully passed out and he held on to my tightly as he worked on swallowing all the blood that was around the microchip trapped between his teeth. As soon as he had nothing but the microchip in his mouth he picked my unconscious body up and laid me down on the couch. He made sure to place a blanket over me before he headed into the other room so he could spit the microchip in a harmless liquid that he soon put into a shot. The tracking device was still working so he had to dispose of it into something that would act like a human.
Without further thought he made sure I was sound asleep before he headed out and went to the nearest woods. Once inside he used his senses to track down a deer and with his predatory abilities he called the deer to him. It was a nice looking buck so he carefully injected it with the shot. It wouldn't hurt the animal but if the vampires that were tracking me found him then it would be the end of the poor deer's life. Kaylyn bid it farewell and put a little compulsion to travel in its mind before he headed back to the house where I was still fast asleep.
