Chapter 4 : The Girl Behind The Books |four|
"No, what?" I raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know. I thought you knew." he shrugged. I laughed lightly and shook my head.
"Dude, you're stupid." Brent chuckled.
"Alright here's the deal." I said after we calmed down. "I'm taking you through a trail in the woods but at any sign of danger you guys get back here to my house as quickly as you can. Don't bother rubbing down the horses. Dismount and tell Fred that I'm sealling the perimeter." I ordered.
"What do you mean?" Brent sneered. "You think we're a bunch of wusses and can't handle a little danger. I mean what could possibly be out there?"
"Yeah, Valintina. We aren't just gonna let you stay there and fend them-what ever them is-off by yourself." Alex protested. I sighed in frusstration.
"Listen!" i barked. "There are wovles out there. Freedom is my only horse that isn't frightened by them. Even if you don't want to leave when there is trouble, you won't have a choice. Once I give those two a comand they shoot straight for the house, mind you."
"Since when are you all snappy?" Brent and Alex hissed at the same time but agreed none the less.
About 20 minutes later Freedom came to a hault 50 feet from the border.
"Shit. Mother Effin'..." I trailed off. I had to get those guys out of here.
Sara, Kailey. I need your help. I said through my head as the boys came to a hault. They were staring in awe at the senery.
What's wrong? Sara responded.
Are you okay? Kailey freaked out.
Intruders. South border. My house. By the sound of it... wolves. I'm coming! Me too!
I turned to the boys. I took a deap breath at whispered sorry.
They starred at me confussed. Alex opened his mouth to say something but I heard the paws of the wolves hit the dirt hard and fast. To my left I could hear Kailey and Sara's horses stampeeding to this site.
I let out a loud camanding, "GEFAHR!" and the two male horses and there riders sped towards the house. If I was lucky they would stay there.
Author's note: Gefahr is danger in German. Don't kill me if it's wrong I used the translator.
At the same time my friends came into view.
"You ready?" Kailey asked concern very clear.
"Yeah." I sighed.
Okay, maybe before I wasn't telling the entire truth. So I have friends. But they're more like sisters so I really don't count them when I say I have friends, because they're like family.
"I heard other horses before. What the hell?" Sara hissed.
"I had boys out here. So sue me." I sneered. That shut them up.
But not for long, cuz' before you knew it they were smiling broadly. They sniggered and started saying how i'm 'finially growing up!' Please just let a wolf kill me! The steps grew louder and quicker.
Kailey knotched an arrow and Sara summonded her dagers out of thin air. I unshelthed my sord and it lit on fire .
"Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" I sighed.
"When don't you, have that feeling?" the girls chirped.
"Shut up..." I mummbled. We hopped off our horses and yelled a forcful, "NACH HAUSE LAUFEN!" meaning run home in German.
"Why do we train them in German again?" Sara laughed.
"It's a very agressive language, Tree Hugger." Kailey smirked.
"I'm not a tree hugger, Airhead" Sara countered.
"Stop acting imature, both of you!" I snapped. That shut them up. Maybe being leader of this group has it's advantages.
The steps grew faster and so did the speed of my heart. Good thing I have my leather boots on and my leather jumpsuite on under this. Why you ask. Well, you'll see.
