True Love Conquers All [o1]
Chapter 1 : True Love Conquers All [o1]
the sequel to the ghost 1! yay!
My head rose and fell with Matthew's breathing. His fingers pulled through my hair. We were laying outside in the sun. Me, laying on Matthew's chest. We'd been together two months and were still going strong.
"What are you thinking about?" Matthew murmured.
"I'm not thinking about anything," I lied easily. "Why would you think that?"
"You're a bad liar Jamie. What's on your mind?" Damn Matthew and his knowing me too well. I let out a stream of breath.
"Nothing big, just something I heard on the television that bothers me." It wasn't a lie. It was true. I had heard it on the TV. And it did bother me. A lot for that matter.
"What?" Matthew's hands stilled in my hair and moved to my temple. He gently started massaging my temple. I felt myself grow weaker.
"That's not fair," I complained uselessly. Matthew knew that massaging my temple could get me to say anything. My mom had told him that.
"It's also not fair that you're keeping this from me. Tell me. Please." His finger moved from my temple down my jaw line, sending a million tingles through my body. I shivered a little. No fair. How can he do that? Evil possessive boyfriend. Who just happened to be the most sweet, sensitive, caring, smart ass boyfriend I knew. And when I say smart ass, I mean smart ass. Matthew could be very cocky sometimes too.
"But, I don't want to worry you, too," I objected. I knew this information would irritate him just as much as it irritated me.
"Don't worry about me so much. I'm fine, just please tell me." He brushed his fingers over my lips and I shivered again. Damn him! My breathing became shallow and I started breathing more.
"You are going to make me faint," I accused breathlessly. Matthew chuckled. He had, actually made me faint. It happened a week ago, in the foyer. Mom was getting us something to drink and he was tracing my jaw line and then he barely kissed me when I fainted. Mom was kind of nervous. She said that we were too serious. I concentrated on steadying my breathing.
"Then you better tell me, before you faint. It's just gonna get worse." He ran his fingers down my neck. I knew I was about to give in. But the stubborn girl in me was fighting this all she could. Matthew traced my collar bone and I moaned a little. Matthew thought that was hilarious and burst out laughing. Totally killing the mood.
"You just killed the mood," I said, sitting up. Matthew sat up too. His eyes were sparkling, like they always were. He was smirking.
"Yeah, but it was so worth it. So this," He traced my collar bone. "Is a weak spot. I better make a note of that." I glared at him, or I tried to. Matthew leaned in, still smirking. No way was I gonna let him kiss me. I ducked out of the way just as he tried to kiss me. Now it was me who burst out laughing.
"Hey! I was a little busy there, and you moved." Matthew stood up. I giggled and scooted back. Our height difference caused a lot of people to give us funny looks. But I guess the fact that Matthew is unbelievably gorgeous and I' m unbelievably plain, gets us funny looks too.
Matthew was 6'2". And me? I was 5'4". Yeah that's right. Matthew is 10 inches taller then me. Almost a foot. I barely come up to his chin. The top of my head that is, comes up to his chin, I mean. So Matthew has to lean down a lot when we kiss. Either that, or just lift me up. Which I hate cause I'm so afraid he'll drop me. I know, I'm a coward.
"You deserved it."
"Nuh uh."
"Yes huh."
"Okay, maybe I did. So what?" With that said, Matthew scooped me up bridal style, ignoring my scream for him to put me down.
"Matthew!" I screamed. "Put me down!" I could already see him dropping me. He moved his hands from under neath and I fell. But he caught me before I hit the ground. I slapped his arm.
"Don't do that! You know I hate it." I complained, crossing my arms over my (very small) chest.
"Yeah, and you know I'd never drop you." Matthew said. I opened my mouth to protest but decided not to.
"Please put me down?" I asked feigning innocence and sweetness. Matthew grinned a grin I knew meant trouble. "Don't do it. Whatever you're going to do, don't-" I screamed as Matthew moved the arm supporting my back. But like last time, he caught me before I fell.
"You don't trust me," Matthew pouted. He looked so adorable when he made the puppy dog face. I made one back.
"I do trust you. Now, please put me down." I kept the puppy dog pout in place. His puppy dog pout slowly faded and he groaned, setting me down.
"I can't resist that puppy dog face. Damn, I'm getting weak." Matthew ran a hand through his hair. I giggled and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"You're not weak, you just love me." I planted a big kiss on his cheek and unwound my arms from his neck. But Matthew held me close.
"Yes, that I do." Then he kissed me. I gasped in shock. I rewound my arms and we kissed. When we were done, I didn't let go. I just let him hold me.
