Elise didn’t know what was going on. She was surrounded by darkness- darkness that wouldn’t go away. She saw no trace of light anywhere, and was beginning to get somewhat frightened. She mentally kicked herself- she wasn’t scared of the dark, so why was she cowering now? Okay, no more caving in the dark, she decided. It’s time to find my way outta here. She waited and waited, until it struck her that she was unconscious, and mentally groaned. She then paused, thinking that she heard something. The sound became a little clearer...wait...were those...voices? Was she hearing other people’s voices? She tried to catch most of what she was seemed to be listening in on. "Is she going to be okay? Do you know that?" Elise then felt a gentle hand touch her forehead, and slightly gasped to herself, but quickly became calmer as she felt the hand travel down to her heart, then her lungs, then to one of her wrists. "She’ll be fine, she’s just unconscious, is all. She should wake up in a while." "Thank goodness..." "But still, she looks a little pale...Kirby, could you go and get some water for us?" "Sure." Elise was still wondering what was going on, but tried not to bother with it as she heard tiny footsteps run in a direction away from her, then quickly return. "I put it at a warm temperature, is that okay?" "That’s just fine. Now, could you pour a little bit slowly on her face?" "Okay." Elise then began to tense up a bit, but then felt the touch of warm water fall gently on her face. She then slowly let a smile come on her face as her consciousness began to recover. She then felt her eyes slowly flutter open, and her vision seemed to return, although somewhat blurry, but at least she could see. She could then see four figures standing above her- two girls, that looked like they were princesses, a male that was wearing a red cap, a red shirt, and blue overalls, and a little pink...round...puffball-like thing? She couldn’t tell. But then, her vision was clear again, and she could actually see for real. Then, one of the girls spoke up. "Oh good, you’re awake! Thank goodness." a blond-haired girl said, a smile on her face. Elise looked around, having just enough strength to sit up. "Ugh...what hit me?" she asked, rubbing her head. A brown-haired girl then spoke to her. "You were just passed out when you arrived here, but seeing as you’re awake, you should be fine now." she replied, a hand on Elise’s shoulder. She then took the time to look around. "Wait a second... where AM I? What am I doing here? Why aren’t I back at home?" she asked frantically, glancing around everywhere. The brown-haired girl then spoke to her again. "It’s alright, just calm down," she told her, a hand still on her shoulder. "Now then, why don’t you just take a deep breath...?" Elise tried to protest, but she eventually nodded, standing up. She then took the time to look down at herself, and freaked out again. "Wha...what is this?" she asked herself, out of pure disbelief. Instead of the T-Shirt and jeans she was first wearing, she was now wearing something totally different- a black skintight warrior suit, with silver armor covering her body, from her shoulders to her ankles. She was also wearing grey fingerless gloves and ankle-high boots of a deep purple color. A long dark blue and black cape was draped over the back of her body, and her reddish-brown hair was tied up in two warrior style ponytails. To finish off her look was a dark violet belt that was secured loosely around her waist, but tight enough so that it wouldn’t fall off. Underneath the belt was a knight mask, as if to help conceal her identity, and on the other side was a sword- built especially for a warrior. It was sleek, durable, and fierce-looking all at the same time. Taking another glance at her new form, something clicked in her mind. I...I look so much like...like...Meta-Knight... she thought, fiddling with one of her ponytails. "Well, to answer the one of the questions you asked earlier, you’re in Super Smash Bros. Brawl- The World of Trophies!" the male spoke up, gesturing to the world around him and the others. Elise’s eyes widened. "You mean... I got transported here? To Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Out of nowhere?!" she looked around again, and began to "spaz out". "Oh my god, how am I gonna get back home? What about Conor? Where is he? Is he okay? Oh god, what am I gonna do?!" she kept running around until she ran out of breath, placing her hands on her silver shin guards. Breathing heavily, Elise looked up at the four figures, and felt her cheeks turning pink from embarrassment. "Oh... heh heh, sorry about that. Anyway, what are your names?" she asked, recovering from the sudden outburst. "Well, my name is Zelda," the brown-haired girl replied. "This is Peach," she gestured to the blond, "Mario," she pointed at the male, "and Kirby." the pink puffball creature smiled and waved at her. "What’s your name?" Kirby added. "I’m Elise," she replied, giving a slight bow. "So, what exactly was going on before I arrived here?" "We were just having a friendly battle," Mario told her." Me VS. Kirby. Would you like to watch?" the girl smiled. "Sure, sounds like fun!" she replied, but then added something else. "Do you think that... I could participate, too?" Kirby nodded, almost in delight. "Of course! You can battle the winner out of us," he replied in his usual squeaky voice. Elise nodded, then backed up with Peach and Zelda to watch the match continue.
~SOMETIME LATER~
"Wow, this is amazing!" Elise eyed the match between Kirby and Mario intently, cheering both competitors on. However, it all ended when Kirby brought out a hammer and whacked Mario out of the arena making him the winner. Everyone began to clap, but Elise was by far the loudest.
"Alright, Kirby! That was awesome!" she called out, watching him wave to the audience. Soon, Mario came back, but in the form of some sort of statue. Elise raised an eyebrow.
"Hey Zelda, an particular reason that Mario’s a statue?" she asked, pointing at the unmoving figure. Zelda nodded.
"Yes, every time someone in this world is defeated in a battle, they turn into a trophy. But not for long, because a pure touch can bring them back to life." Elise put a finger to her chin, pondering what she had heard.
"So basically, it’s like a state of death, although you can be revived?" she asked.
"Something like that, yes."
Elise then watched as Kirby walked... or moreso hopped over to Mario and tapped his trophy pedestal, bringing him back to his normal state. Shaking hands, Mario then walked over to Elise, tapping her shoulder.
"Well, it’s your turn now." he replied, gesturing out to the arena. Elise gulped, but nodded, and walked casually walked to the center of the floor. Facing Kirby, she watched as the pink creature began to bounce up and down in excitement.
"So, you ready to battle, Elise?" he asked, a little smile on his face. She paused, as if in fear, but her unsure expression was replaced with the same smile as she stepped back into a fighting stance.
"You know it." she responded, giving a little wink.
~MEANWHILE~
In a place somewhere else, high above the arena, an angel stood, watching the current battle take place. The angle’s name was Pit, and he looked very amazed by the sudden newcomer, which appeared to be a human girl. He didn’t say anything as he watched, but silently cheered both fighters on, raising his fists in the air and throwing stimulated punches. He then smiled broadly as the girl did a backflip away from one of Kirby’s attacks, then threw a kick at the lower part of hid body.
Wow, she’s impressive... Pit thought, watching the match continue.
~BACK AT THE ARENA~ Man, this is a little harder than I expected, Elise thought, catching her breath as she rested on a knee. But still, there MUST be a way that I can win... wait, I’ve got it! Quickly standing up, she positioned herself into a fighting stance again, and lunged forward at Kirby, spinning around at almost light speed, and threw a kick from her back leg at Kirby, sending him flying out of the arena. She had won. "I... I did it... heh heh, I did it! I won!" she cheered, smiling and waving at the audience. As she was enjoying her victory, she saw Kirby come back to the arena, but in the state of a trophy. Elise walked over to it slowly, pondering. Zelda said that a pure touch can resurrect a trophy back to normal, She thought. So, let’s see if I have that sort of power... Glancing at Kirby’s trophy, she raised up her hand and lightly tapped the pedestal. In a flash of light, Kirby was back to his normal self. He smiled, holding his arm out for a handshake. "That was amazing, Elise! One of the best fights I’ve ever participated in!" he squeaked. The girl laughed to herself, before nodding. "You’re welcome. It’s been a while since I’ve had fun fighting," she replied. They laughed and shook hands, then waved to the audience again. Everyone began to cheer loudly, clapping and whistling. Elise smiled, enjoying every second of this, when all of a sudden, she felt the ground begin to shake. Looking up out of curiosity, she saw reddish-purple clouds approaching, along with a huge air-ship. In a matter of seconds, the clouds had covered the entire sky, darkening the arena. Kirby’s smile had changed to an expression of worry, walking towards Elise to investigate. "What is this...?" Elise asked herself, watching the suspicious events unfold. As the ship drew closer to the arena, Elise could see a hatch underneath opening, with purple fuzzy-like substances falling out. They descended on the arena, surrounding Elise and Kirby. "W-What are these things?" Kirby asked, his voice trembling. Elise glanced over at her companion, and shrugged. "We’ll soon find out." And she was right, for the purple balls began to attach to each other, molding into shapes of figures. When it had cleared up, the thing in place of the purple substance was a tall green figure with a black face and yellow eyes, known as a Primid. One by one, they kept appearing from the fog of purple balls, until there were at least 50. "This can’t be good," Elise muttered, watching the Primids multiply. She soon heard footsteps approaching, and found Mario, Zelda and Peach standing beside her and Kirby, ready to fight. Elise looked around, then sighed. "Well, if it’s the only way to do it..." she reached to the left, and drew out the sword that was resting in the side of her belt. Now that she could see it better, she was amazed. It was a beautiful shade of gold, with thin silver lines running down the blade and the handle. Also, in the center of the handle was a red gem that shone brilliantly in the light. A Galaxia Sword. Smiling, she thrust it out, ready for battle. "...then let’s do this."
~SOMETIME LATER~
"Elise, behind you!" Zelda cried out. The girl looked behind her, seeing a group of five Primids stomping towards her. Smirking, she dashed forward at light speed, her sword thrust out in front of her, and sliced through them, leaving only the remnants of dust in her wake. Turning to the brunette princess, she flashed a smile.
"They can’t take me out that easily." she replied. Glancing around, she knew that she had taken out the last of the Primids.
"Phew, looks like we beat ‘em," Elise whispered, but then looked up at the sound of whirring. "But it’s not the least of our worries at the moment."
"What do you mean by that?" Mario asked, turning to the girl. In response, she pointed up to where a mysterious figure was floating in the air, seeming to descend. The figure wore a long green and magenta cloak, with a tall hat of the same color green. On the cloak was a silver badge with a gold bottom. The cloak and hat hid his face, which appeared black with yellow eyes. Two red kunai knives were resting on his sides, and he was sitting atop of a platform that was carrying a large silver and red sphere. Elise squinted, trying to recognize the figure from the game, when it suddenly clicked in her mind.
The Ancient Minister! She screamed in her mind. He’s going to pull the arena into subspace with that sphere!
After a while, the platform released the sphere, dropping it on the ground. Then, two white robots emerged from behind the sphere, seemingly "plugging" their hands into the sides of the sphere, which separated the center into a visible timer. The sphere was a bomb!
As Elise, Mario, Kirby, Zelda and Peach stood in horror at the time bomb, none of them noticed the Ancient Minister fly back to the air-ship...
