Well I called Matty and he was none to happy that I'm leaving today. He said he's going to miss me, and will come up next weekend. I personally don't think he's going to get a chance to come this weekend, but hey, if Matty thinks he can, we'll let Matty think that. It's currently 7 a.m. All my stuff is packed up and in the car but I'm not dressed yet. I think I'll just throw on a pair of blue skinny jeans and my black american eagle polo. With the black ballet flats I always were it'll look good. Besides, the skinny jeans make my curvy legs look longer. The polo makes my over-sized bust look a bit smaller and the flats just finish the look. I'm going to leave my long brown hair wavy. I can't be bothered to straighten it. I'm going to need to get it cut soon I think. I'm not putting any make-up on either. It'll just smudge off when I fall asleep in the car.

"RILEY! LET'S GO!" yells my mom. She's really antsy today, same with dad.

"I'm coming, keep your pants on." I said back, walking down the stairs calmly.

"Matty is outside with snacks. Why?" asked my dad. Why are you asking me I never have any clue what that boy is up to.

"What? He is?" I asked looking at them like they had 4 heads. I walked out my front door to find Matty with some sort of Road Trip Survival kit. Snack, a portable DVD player, all of our favourite movies and board games.

"I'm coming with. I realized I probably wouldn't have been able to get a drive up to New York City with my parents. So I'm dropping you off." He stood there smiling with his kit of goodies. I smiled back and turned around to recieve a very approving look from my parents. I actually think my mom was crying a bit.

"Matty!" I ran at him and gave him a tackle hug. Why is he so absolutely wonderful?! He put me down on the ground after a little bit and looked over my shoulder, wondering if my parents were still there I guess. He looked back at me and smiled. He put his hand underneath my chin and pulled my lips up to his and kissed me softly. I couldn't do anything but smile at him afterwards.

"Come on, we'll stick all this stuff in the car." He said motioning me towards all of his stuff. I picked up his board games and movies and he picked up all of his snacks and the DVD player. We put all the stuff in the backseat of the car and waited outside the car for my parents.

"Matty, are we still just friends?" I finally asked him.

"Yeah, we'll always be friends." He said wrapping his arm around my waist.

"No I mean after all that has happened in the past few days."

"I know." He smiled at me and wrapped his arm tighter.

"You're the best Matty."

"I know." he laughed. I laughed too. My parents finally came out of the house and we all started to get in the car. While driving through our little suburban neighbourhood I realized how much I was going to miss this place. I always thought it was boring and dull, but I realized then, that it was comfortable and safe. I was heading into the unknown. Somewhere exciting and dangerous, and I was going by myself. I was sitting in the middle of the back seat so that we could watch movies easier in the car but I wasn't in the mood for movies yet. I put my head on Matty's shoulder and fell asleep for awhile.

When I woke up 3 hours later, Matty was watching Horton Hears a Who. I stayed up to watch it with him. I like Horton, he's cute.

We watched a few more movies and then it was Matty's turn to fall asleep on my shoulder. He looked so quiet and sweet asleep. I too fell asleep. We both were woken up my parents in front of the Palace Hotel in Manhattan.

"Matty." I said starting to tear up.

"Don't you dare start crying." he said to me. We both got out of the car, greeted by some guy that took my bags up to my room, "Hey, I thought you were staying with a family, not at hotel."

"So did I Matty, so did I." I said to him. He wrapped an arm tight around my waist and we proceeded to walk into the Hotel. We were all greeted in the lobby by a rich looking bald man and a brown haired boy that looked like he was about 17.

"Well you must be Riley! Welcome to the Palace Hotel! We're so excited to have you here. You will be living in Chuck's Suite up on the top floor. The help is bringing up your stuff as we speak. And who is this?" He gestured towards Matty.

"Um, this is Matty. He's my friend." Matty stuck his hand out to shake Chuck's hand and he sneered at him.

"Wonderful, you're charming." Matty said to Chuck. I had to give him a pinch in the side, "Ow Riley."

"Be nice." I said rubbing where I had just pinched. We then realized that The Basses were no longer paying any attention to us.

"Come on up to the Suite now. Might as well show you where you're going to be living for the next two years," Chuck said to me. He gave me a wink and then guided me along with his hand on my lower back. I turned around and grabbed Matty's hand. Matty looked a tiny bit mad. We got in the elevator and proceeded up to the top floor. A very awkward trip I might add. No one spoke. We finally arrived at his room. It was magnificent. I let go of Matty's hand for the first time since I had arrived in Manhattan. There were 2 bedrooms and a futon. A huge kitchen, dining room and games room. And that was only the first floor! There was a set of stairs that led up to Chuck's bedroom and the master bathroom. I was amazed. It had just as many rooms as my house in Jersey did.

"Wow. This is so nice." I said finally to Chuck.

"Yep. I know. You're lucky you get to stay here. My father was going to have you in your own suite a few floors lower and I wouldn't let him do such a thing. Can't have you staying by yourself in a brand new city." Chuck said smiling. He has a sort of, I'm-going-to-get-in-your-pants smile. It kind of creeps me out.

"We should go back downstairs and say good-bye to your parents Riley." Matty said, saving me from having to talk to Chuck more. We proceeded back to the elevator and down to the lobby. It was time to say good-bye to my parents and Matty. I walked over to my parents and gave them huge hugs. We said our good-byes and they gave me good-bye kisses. They told me to call them every night until I was settled properly. Then it was Matty's turn to say his good-byes.

"Riley, I guess it's time for me to say good-bye." Said Matty.

"Yeah I guess it is." I felt my eyes starting to well up.

"I just wanted to say that it's not going to be the same without you at home. I'm going to miss you alot. Best friends?"

"Forever Matty." I moved into a hug and kissed his neck on my way in.

"I'll call you when I get back ok?" He said.

"Ok." You kissed his lips softly just before he left. You watched your parents and Matty get into a cab outside the hotel. You watched the cab until you could no longer pick it out of all of the other cabs.

"C'mon, we're going out." said Chuck from behind you.

"Where are we going? It's only 4 in the afternoon." you asked.

"The park."
