Konoha Middle School: A Tale of Princesses Info

The girls and I had been going to that lake for about a month now. The boys have not followed us again, or at least not that I've seen. Today was a Friday in September and we were all in Sage's class (Language). Everyone in the class had finished the assignment early so Sage let us talk for the rest of the period. This was the last class of the day and then we would have the meet Sam at the front gate and bring her back to our dorm and have a sleepover. The six of us mermaid princesses were sitting by the guys listening to their conversation. "I can't believe that you have been going to see those mermaids every night for a month now." Kankuro said. Naruto nodded in agreement. "I know. I mean, Gaara of all people going to see mermaids. In my opinion, I think he likes one of them." Gaara blushed. "N-no. I just think they're kind of interesting." Kiba smirked. "Well, I don't know about you guys but I think the indigo one is hot." Nicole blushed and turned toward the window. "Hey do you think there are others, I mean, if there are eight(8) then there's bound to be more ya know." Kankuro said. I was starting to get irritated. "You should just give it up!" I yelled at them. They looked at me with shocked expressions. They were going to find out our secret and I couldn't let that happen. "What?" they said. "I told you to give it up! You were obviously hallucinating when you saw the mermaids! So just give it up!" I yelled. Sage walked over to us and asked what was wrong. I told her that they thought they saw mermaids. "Well, you were probably just imagining things." she said right before the bell rang. Later that night when the other girls were asleep I had gone to the lake and was about to get in when Gaara stepped out of the bushes. "I thought you were acting strange." he said in a monotone voice. Oh my God. We are so done for, he's going to tell the whole school that we're mermaids. I thought. "Gaara, I beg of you please don't tell anyone, please." a tear rolled down my cheek. Gaara walked closer to me. I could feel my heart start to race as he moved closer. He was just inches away from my face when he stopped. "Did you and Kevin break up?" he asked out of the blue. I could feel my cheeks start to heat up. "W-well you see, um, we were never really dating. He was just helping make sure our secret was safe." He nodded. "So, which mermaid are you, Lauren?" I turned around and stepped into the water, then I dove down beneath the surface. When I came back up, I was in my normal mermaid form. "I'm Lauren, Princess of the North Atlantic Ocean." I said. "Ah, so you're the one I met when I was seven." I pulled myself out of the water so I could sit on the edge of the lake with my fin in the water. We both sat there sighlently looking at the moon. I would see him gazing at me out of the corner of my eye. I turned to face him and he looked me in the eyes. He leaned in and whispered in my ear, "I've been waiting to see you again for almost six years." I placed one hand on his chest and he didn't seem to mind. "I have too, Gaara, I have too." He leaned in as I closed my eyes. I felt soft lips on top of mine. I slowly kissed him back. He placed his hands on my waist and I put mine around his shoulders. He licked my lips hesitantly. I hesitated for a moment, this being my first kiss and all, but eventually I let him in. He roamed my mouth gently. We pulled apart about a minute later. He looked me in the eyes and put his hand over his heart. "W-what is this feeling in my heart?" I smiled. I had heard Lina explain this feeling to me many times. "Well, my mentor said that it's something called love. It's when you really care about someone." He was sighlent. "I...I think I love you Lauren." I smiled. I couldn't believe it, I was actually falling for a human boy, but it felt so right. I snuggled into his chest. "I love you too Gaara." He wrapped his arms around me protectively. We stayed like that for the next hour. Then he walked me back to my dorm. Just before I opened the door Gaara asked, "Would you be my girlfriend, Lauren?" I smiled. "Ok, but on one condition." He smiled, and I mean he actually smiled. "Anything." "Alright, we keep it a secret and you can't say that we're mermaids ok." I said(Lauren had told Gaara about the others being mermaid princesses while they were at the lake). "Hey, that's two conditions, but ok." I gently pecked him on the lips and went inside my dorm. I shut and locked the door and walked over to my sleeping bag that was in the main room. I sat thinking about Gaara for a little while. This year is going to be a lot of fun. I thought as I fell asleep.
