Kai is a very calm, laid back and friendly person, but if angered she'd become the complete opposite. Anger is her main weakness, but is also her greatest strength in battle. She loves to have fun and enjoy life so she is usually the one to organise things, such as meeting at a ramen bar. Her friends would describe her as 'random' and 'hyper' sometimes. Though she likes to work too, which helped her ace her Genin exam. Training is one of her favourite things to do, especially when she is pitted against Temari, as Temari knows everything Kai can do so it is a challenge for Kai.

Kai is a user of Taijutsu and some Ninjutsu. She wields a metal longstaff in battle, given to her by her father, which she uses to create unique Taijutsu moves. She is a reckless fighter and rushes into battle without thinking, using as many moves she can think of as possible. This method proves effective some of the time, but in a lot of cases, her opponent gets the upper hand and defeats her.

She has the ability to heal, but she never learned how to use this ability properly and she finds it impossible to use it in battle since she doesn’t think while fighting. Outside of battle, she can heal non-fatal to moderately fatal injuries but would try her best to do more if needed.
