Story Starts:
The whole village was in commotion. If some one had stopped to tell me what it was I might have been able to tell you. Shinobi ran up and down the streets. You might ask why not me too? Aren’t I a shinobi as well? Sadly my friends, no I’m not. I was but I’m not any more. And seriously I don’t have the patience to tell you but let me summarize. I fell of a building on a mission and poof! Sorry miss you can’t be a shinobi anymore. When ever I thought about it, it made me feel like barking at something. That incident utterly pissed me off! Naruto ran into me.
“What’s wrong baka?” I asked.
“Sasuke!” he said. My world froze. I began laughing nervously. The last thing I wanted was Sasuke Uchiha to return to the village.
“That’s funny Naruto.” I said in between my laughter. Naruto blinked and anime sweat dropped.
“Kairi-chan I’m not joking.” He said. A mixture of emotions filled me.
“Oh… HOLY CRAP!!! NO!!! SOMEBODY GIVE ME A KUNAI NOW AND LET ME KILL MYSELF!!!”
“NO!!!” Naruto yelled. He knew well that Sasuke and I were friends since… well since we were five! He changed and I didn’t and everything just went down the toilet from there. I bit my bottom lip.
“When’s he coming back?” I asked.
“Two days.”
“Oh.” Silence filled the area. I began crying. I was somewhere between happy and sad.
“Oh! Kairi-chan don’t cry! I’m sorry!” Naruto said franticly. I shook my head.
“No Naruto… I’m happy.” I said. Naruto hugged me and began jumping up and down.
Third Person:
Sasuke Uchiha entered Konaha. It hadn’t changed one bit. Sasuke was sorta relieved by that. He hoped the people hadn’t changed either. A crowed of people came to greet the young Uchiha. Mostly fan girls. (me: *pulls out bazooka* DIE FAN GIRLS!!! *chases fan girls* fan girls: AHH!!! SAVE US SASUKE-KUN!!! Sasuke: whatever.) At the end of the fans three people stood there.
Naruto Uzumaki.
Sakura Haruno.
Kakashi Hatake.
Team 7. Sasuke gulped. He stepped in front of Naruto. Naruto held out his hand.
“Welcome back Sasuke.” He said. Sasuke looked at the hand and then at Naruto. He took his hand and shook it.
“Thank you Naruto.” Team Asuma, Team Kurenai, and Team Guy came. They all embraced Sasuke like a long lost friend. “Where’s Kairi?” Sasuke asked the group.
“Sasuke she… didn’t have the guts to face you after all this time.” Naruto said. Naruto looked down. “Sorry I couldn’t convince her to come. You know how stubborn she is.” Sasuke looked down at his feet.
“Is she still as hyper as you?” he asked. Naruto looked up.
“THIS KAIRI WE ARE TALKING ABOUT!!! OF COURSE SHE’S STILL HYPER!!!” Naruto anime yelled at Sasuke.
“Shut up, loser.” Sasuke said grinning at his friend. “You still can’t beat me in a fight.” That got Naruto pissed off as hell.
“I WILL BEAT YOU AND I WILL BECOME HOKAGE TEME!!!” Naruto yelled.
“Whatever, baka.” Sasuke said. Sakura and Ino practically melted at that. (me: *points bazooka at sakura and ino* die!!! Sorry I’m kinda in a fan girl killing spree. ^_^’)
Next Day:
Kairi stood before the K.I.A monument. Sighing she wondered where Sasuke was. As if she didn’t know. He was probably off in the training grounds… somewhere. She sighed again and went home and got dressed for her job. A waitress. Yeah not the gratest job for an ex-shinobi but it paid for her apartment so she could care less. She put on a blue skirt and white blouse at went to work. As she entered a co-worker almost trampled over her.
“KAIRI!!!” the employee yelled at the top of her lungs.
“Ok let me breathe Kyky!” she yelled and Kyky back up. “What’s wrong?” she asked.
“The manager. He and the assistant manager. Oh my gosh!” she bluttered.
“Ok take it from the top. What happened?”
“The manager and the assistant manager said they are holding a karioki night tonight. And all employees must go up to sing at least once.” She said. Kairi just blinked.
“Really?” Kairi asked her voice shaking with panic. Kyky nodded. “That’s nice.” She said and fainted. The other employees helped wake her up and their jobs went on as usual. As all the people came in for dinner Kyky pulled Kairi to where she was standing.
“See that guy over there?” Kairi’s jaw dropped when Kyky pointed to none other than Sasuke Uchiha.
“Holy crap!” Kairi whispered.
“He’s cute.”
“He’s my childhood friend.” Kairi said.
“Seriously?” Kairi began whimpering.
“Why god?! Why do you punish me so cruelly!?” she asked. The manager of the restaurant went up to the stage and took the microphone.
“Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Tonight we planned performances from our own staff. The first performance is our one of our new employees… singing.”
“Don’t say my name.” Kairi whispered to herself.
“Kairi.” The manager said.
“Damn it all!” she hissed. Her knees locked. She forced her body to move to the stage. Butterflies lingered into her stomach.
“Um… hi.” She said. “Um. We had to pick what sing we were going to sing today earlier. Um I picked a song that… my friend and I know very well. Or I think he remembers. Um. It’s called Bluebird.” She said.
As the young Uchiha watched he only realized it was heruntilhe heardthe song she chose. Of course he remembered the song. How could she doubt that he remembered that song? Kairi closed her eyes and opened her mouth.

Kairi swallowed wondering if it was over yet. She opened her eyes when she heard clapping. It was over. She ran off the stage and out of the restaurant. Sasuke got up and fallowed her close behind. Kairi reached the training grounds and put her back to a tree and slid down, panting trying to catch her breathe.
“Are you ok?” a monotone voice asked her. Kairi tried to get back up. Sasuke walked over to her and helped. She looked ready to run again. “You can run I’ll just catch up to you again and truthfully I thought you would be much faster after all this time.” Kairi’s lips curved up to reveal her teeth. She pulled away the arm that he help her up with.
“Shut it, jerk.” She hissed.
“Kairi?” Sasuke asked suddenly shocked that she said that. To HIM! She had called people in front of him jerks before like Kunkuro and Shikamaru but not him! Kairi got up and ran. She stopped when she reached a small lake.
Flashback:
The young Kairi poked Sasuke on the arm waking him up.
“Hmm. Kairi?” he asked.
“Did you fall asleep while training again?” she asked.
“Yeah I did. Sorry. Is my mom worried?”
“A little. You’re late though. Now get up you lazy bum!”
“I am not a lazy bum.”
“Yes you are.” Kairi said playfully.
“No I’m not.”
End of Flashback:
“Yes you are.” Kairi said.
“No I’m not.” Sasuke said behind her. Kairi turned around to face him. She placed her hands on her hip.
“Yes you are.” Sasuke stepped closer.
“No I’m not.”
“Yes you are.” He was in front of her.
“No I’m not.” Sasuke and Kairi were smirking.
“Yes you are.” Sasuke crushed his lips against hers. She froze. Shock and happiness filled her leaving her paralyzed. Sasuke broke the kiss.
“You still talk too much.” He told her.
“Hn.” She responded giving him a face. Sasuke chuckled.
“I love you.” Kairi twitched. She slapped his head. Sasuke chuckled. It didn’t hurt of course.
“Who are you and what have you done with Sasuke?” she asked putting on her sarcastic look.
“I tied him up and through him in a river five days ago.” He replied.
“Love you too.” Kairi said.
“That kiss was for your birthday that I missed recently and this is for the other two.” He pulled out a box from his robe. Kairi twitched again.
“You aren’t proposing are you?” she asked making the young Uchiha laugh. That was her wonder on him. She was the only person that could make him laugh.
“No I’m not. They’re earrings.” Kairi’s mouth became a perfect O. “Happy Birthday. Kairi.” He said.
