"You're what?!"
"Hey, thanks Paige. Nice to see you too." My boss was more than shocked by my engagement.
"I just can't believe you're getting...married. You! Leila. The one who wouldn't let a boy near her heart. I just...wow."
"I know, I didn't think it was possible either. But, after that big bonus you're going to give me I can have a really nice wedding, right?" I smirked, knowing that it wasn't all her giving me the bonus. It was Sean's record company too. Apparently the CD had amazing sales and there were many comments on the artwork.
"Yeah. Yeah. Who have you told yet?" I looked shocked, I haven't even told Lex yet. Mainly because I haven't seen her yet and Paige pretty much tackled me when she saw my ring finger.

"Uh, well you kind of tackled me, when I came here. So that's it. I haven't even told Lex yet. When is she going to be in today?" Paige looked at the wall where she kept "the important" peoples schedules.
"Uh, about an hour." I nodded and walked to my desk, after being away for 5 months I had a huge amount of paper work I was not looking forward to.
BACK AT LEILA'S
"Now listen Sparx, we're going to have to share the sun spots on the living floor if we're going to get along." Sparx looked up at Sean and sprawled out on the floor. "Oh, you are sly."
DING DING
Sean walked over to the door and opened it to find standing there a younger looking girl with black skinny jeans, a white tee shirt that had a big pink guitar across it, and black chucks on with huge white sunglasses.
"Uh...hey."
"Hey. Who are you and what are you doing in my sisters apartment?"
"I'm Sean and...I, uh. I'm visiting." Sean stepped aside so the little girl could come in.
"I'm Marie, Leila's younger sister."
"Oh, nice to meet you Marie." They shook hands as Marie went straight for the fridge. After, she turned back around looking at Sean waiting for him to tell him who he was to Leila.
"Are you the one my sisters dating?"
"Well actually-"
Shake shake, shake shake a shake it! Marie's phone was ringing in her pocket, and she reached in to pick it up. Sean sighed a bit of relief, since he didn't have to be the one to break the news.
"Hey Leila! Yeah...how'd you know?...Oh Marty? Right. He's creepy, I know. Yeah, I did." Marie looked up at Sean and smiled. "Ok...see you soon." Sean looked at Marie as she was biting into an apple.
"Sooo whats up?"
"Leilas coming home soon with Lex to tell me "some news". And she told me not to grill you, so consider yourself lucky."
Sean chuckled a little. "Thank you, I appreciate it.
BACK TO LEILA
I had to hide my ring in my purse, until I got back to my apartment. I knew that if Lex wasn't one of the first people to know, she'd flip. Even if someone found out by accident. Paige sent me home today, and told me I could just work 2 extra hours on Saturday to make it up. Even though that was my idea not hers, she'd never make me work late after how big Sean's CD was and how much press the company got.
"What do you have to tell meee?!" Lex whined on the way back to my apartment.
"You'll seee!"
"Best friend! You suck."
"I know best friend. But Marty just called and said he saw Marie go up to the apartment, so now I get to tell you two at the same time."
"You're pregnant aren't you?! P.S. Martys a creeper."
"No and yes I know." The rest of the car ride was silent because I could see Lex trying to think of what it could possibly be. Once we got back to my apartment we walked up the stairs waved to creepy Marty, and unlocked the door to my apartment. When I opened the door I saw Sparx sprawled out on the floor, and Sean and Marie laughing their butts off while playing Mario Kart.
"Haha, looks like Marie didn't kill you." I said setting my keys down.
"Leila!" Marie said dropping the controller and running over to me.
"Hey kid! How'd you get over here?!"
"Took a cab."
"Aren't you suppose to be in school?" I asked crossing my arms.
"No?" I just sighed and shook my head. We were never people who liked school much. Plus Marie was super talented in music. I knew she was going to be big one day. AFTER she graduated. "Fiiiiine. Maybe."
"It's fine, i'm not mom. But! I do have some news." I looked over at Sean who was smiling and I grabbed the ring out of purse.
"We have some news..." I started off, but didn't get a chance to finished because Lex cut me off.
"OH MY GOD!" She said jumping up and down. "YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED!" I just looked at her astonished, but then smiled and nodded my head.
"OH MY GOD!" Marie said tears brimming her eyes. I opened my hand and put my ring back on my finger.
"He came all the way here, right after I left Scotland, and asked me."
"Oh my god..." Lex gasped as she looked at the ring.
"Do I get to be in the wedding?!" Marie asked getting excited.
"Of course." I looked over at Sean smiling, tears now forming in my eyes. I never really let it sink it that it was happening because other people didn't know. But, now that we had told my sister and my best friend...it was becoming more real. And I loved that feeling more than anything.
"You two are the first to know. No one back home for me knows yet." Sean said taking my hand and kissing it.
"You two do realize we have to have an engagement party for you right?" Lex asked getting a smirk. I just laughed and nodded.
"Which, reminds me. Lex..." I got down on one knee and she just snorted out a short laugh. "Will you be my maid of honor?"
"Yes! Yes I would love to be!" We hugged each other really tight and she spun me around like a guy would do to a girl.
"You two should be getting married." Marie said with a smile.
"Hey! I'd like my fiance to stay mine, please?" Sean said laughing at us. Fiance. There's a word I never thought I'd hear.
"Leila, you do know what this means right?" I looked at her questioningly for a minute, then it sunk it.
"Oh. Yeah."
Time to go see mom and dad.
