When we finally arrived at the station, I realised that it was freezing. It was an open-aired station. Good thing I brought my jacket with me. I took it out of my back pack and put it on. It didn’t really help.

“Yeah, it gets really cold out here sometimes.” Said Dan, as we walked towards the exit, “It’s the winter now, anyway. Don’t worry it’s really nice in the summer. You just can’t tell right now because of the cold.”

“Aaaah.” I mused. “Wait, how far is the school from here?”

“It’s just a walking distance away. About five minutes walk?” Amy replied this time. She chuckled, “What, will you have frozen by then?” She teased.

“Hell no.” I laughed.

When we finally got to the school, I was awe-stricken. It turned out that the school was built in an old castle. I’m not exactly a history geek, so I won’t be able to tell you what age it was from. In my previous school, I always attempted to listen to Mr. Wey-Perkins during the history lessons. But no matter how I tried, I’d always end up drifting into some random fantasies of mine.

“You’ll get used to it soon.” Claire mumbled, observing my expression. A small smile formed on her lips.

Inside the castle, there was a huge entrance hall. I could see that there were photographs of important looking people on the wooden walls. They were probably pictures of the previous headmasters. They were adorned with huge, ornate frames. Right in the centre of the room was a silver vase which had the school’s logo engraved in it, and covered in beautiful, intricate designs. It stood on top of a small, fragile looking table. A thin red carpet ran all the way down from the doorway, through the table’s legs, and stretched far to the other side of the room. My old school’s entry hall wasn’t half the size of this.

“Whoa.” I gaped. “Don’t you get tired walking down here everyday?”

“Meh. Not really.” Murmured Dan. He had his hands in his pockets, and his bangs were covering his eyes. He was walking with his head down low, and a smirk ran across his face. Damn. I thought, No wonder those girls were giving me those looks.
