It was morning again. Rustling out of bed I peeked through my covers at the other side where the shelves were. Natsume wasn't up yet, he always woke later than I did. Slipping out, I carefully walked to the windows trying not to wake him up. Quickly casting the curtains aside through the large windows, light poured in.
It hit only my bed though, because the shelves blocked light from Natsume's bed, he liked it that way. Iyawned and rubbed my eyes, blinking a few times to get the nausiated feeling out. Opening my drawers, I slipped off my night clothes. A simple gown that reached right below the knee. Quite frilly around the neck, I never liked it like that, it just came like it. Normally I roll up its sleeves 'cause it prevents me from moving freely. Anyway, I changed and stalked off to the bathroom.
I quickly grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste. While I was brushing I came up with an idea and started laughing.
I walked towards Natsume ready to wake him.I knelt down beside him, his head was nearly off the bed, hanging at the side. Natsu likes to sleep sideways towards the edge a lot...
Squatting, I moved my face closer to his, our noses were touching.
--Narrator's POV--
Tsuki just sat like that for ten minutes just staring at him with her nose touching his. Then she leaned in and her forehead connected with his. The boy started to blink and when realized the first thing he saw were a pair of azure eyes, he recoiled backwards falling off the otherside.
The girl clutched her stomach, rolling around laughing. The boy rubbed his nose and looked annoyed, his eyebrows twitching and his eyes in a straight line.
"That's not funny!"
"It is Natsu! It is! Your expressions are funny!"
"Ugh!"
Natsume had fallen off the bed, but he quickly got back up, his face as red as his eyes could get. Stomping towards the bathroom, the door shut loudly behind him.
Tsuki sighed, putting her hands on her hips. "Such a child!"
-- Breakfast --
Tsuki had gone off without Natsume and was sitting next to Hotaru and Mikan for breakfast. Being served the greatest amount, she shared with Mikan who only had one measly bowl. Hotaru's food looked 1000 times better than Mikans and hers looked a million times better.
-- Tsuki's POV --
I had to feed Mikan something! She looks like she eats a lot, ya know? Look at that energy! Anyway, I was playing around with my spoon, tossing it in the air as it spun and catching it again, always by the handle. Then that pink robot came in.
"Minna [everyone]! Mail has arrived!"
All the children got up and rushed to it. I just sat quietly still messing with my spoon, and also now my knife with my other hand. Mikan stared at me in wonder. I was dead bored though, so I asked, "Mikan-chan, did you ask Narumi-baka to send your mail to Grandpa?"
She nodded vigorously. I sighed and caught the knife midair, I twirled it in my fingers, then as the spoon came down I threw the knife, as it clinked with the spoon both items fell into my glass cup.
"I'd give up."
I shoved my hands in my pockets as I leaned back in the chair.
"Doushite?"
I looked up at Mikan from my slouched position, "Trust me. Your grandpa isn't going to get any letters."
Hotaru continued to sip her drink and gave me a like kick.
"Itte! [ouch]"
Then I noticed Hotaru's look. Then I sighed again, "Nevermind Mikan."
Hotaru smiled at me and I just gave her an annoyed look. She has to find out SOMETIME. Hotaru gave me a look that said, 'not now'.
Mikan looked confused, but our facial expressions changed when the robot started calling out names.
"Takagi-san!"
"Yeah!"
This mail time thing was probably a lot children's favorite part about breakfast. I heard the scratching of the chair to the floor as Mikan inched backwards with high hopes. I leaned my head backwards and gave whistle. Hotaru returned it with a tap on my shoulder and smile.
"Hayashi-san!"
"All right!"
"Imai-san!"
Hotaru scooted her chair and rose. I placed my feet at my table and leaned back on the chair. When
Hotaru left, Mikan's facial expression changed. Her raised hands lowered to her lap and looked intently at Hotaru.
"Oomori-san!"
"Hai."
"Hiyoto-san!"
I kicked back and the chair slid about three feet and I got up. By this time Mikan was up too. She was probably wondering what kind of mail Hotaru and I got. Or . . . If she got any.
"Koundou-san!"
The names continued, and I just walked up with Hotaru ignoring the rest.
Hotaru and I returned to our seats as we both passed Mikan. I heardher run up to the robot.
"Um. Anything for me?"
The robot flipped the bag upside down, "That's all. Looks like there are no letters for you today Sakura-san."
It said it in such an annoying voice, I was tempted to throw the fork.
I walked over to Mikan after shuffling through my letters. I pulled at her pig tails, she gave a startled yelp.
"Daijoubou! You'll get letters... Sometime." A lie. But I had too.
I dragged her back to our seat, but she seemed to be flustered. Hotaru was reading through a science
magazine. What I had recieved was actually a letter from inside the school, Persona.
He requested for mine and Natsume's presence at some point of time. I'd catch on that later, I'd also recieved a magazine, details on govermental and political issues. I just flipped through them, paying no attention, I really didn't want to conquer anything, even if I could have people obey me any way I wanted them too.
Being incredibly bored, I threw the magazines behind me and crossed my arms behindmy head. I took a glimpse at Mikan and she looked depressed.
Sighing, with the back of my hand I knocked her forehead.
She looked up startled, she was crying.
"You're going to turn ugly if youcry so hard."
-- Classroom --
With my arms crossed I listened to Hotaru and Iinchou,
"Homesickness... huh."
"Don't bother, she'll take it out on you."
"I've had experience in it too..."
Iinchou started to walk towards Mikan, "Cheer up!"
Hotaru and I sighed, he was way too nice.
Mikan grabbed at his cuffs, shaking him back and forth uncontrollably, "IS THERE ANYWAY I CAN CONTACT GRANDPA?!"
Panicked, Iinchou hurried his words, "H-hai! There is!"
Mikan abruptedly stopped and Iinchou started to catch his breath. "Eh? How?"
Iinchou was panting, "Otonashi-san has the divination Alice. Sheis incredibly correct in the things she
see."
"Divination?"
Mikan walked towards the fortune teller.
I sighed and didn't pay any attention. Staring up at the ceiling, then I noticed something funny and
glared at it. After a few seconds. "Hmm. I give up."
Something bothered me, but I couldn't figure it out. By the time I turned around, Hotaru had her new
invention out and was trying to help Mikan see her grandpa.
Her angler fish projector showed clips. And I just stared with my eyes blank kind of like... = = That. Her grandpa was yelling at the mailman talking about how he didn't recieve any letters, then he held up his sword at the man. Even fora Jijihe had energy. I sweatdropped and walked back over to my seat. Where Natsume grabbed my sleeve and tugged me down next to him. He then propped up his elbows onto the back of his seat and put his legs on the edge of the table. He was about to answer Mikan's rants about how is it possible that her grandpa hasn't recieved a single letter.
I jerked his ear though, if Natsume said it, it would definately sound harsh. His head jerked sideways and knocked into mine. His eyes looked blank as if he was thinking, 'huh?'.
I didn't let go of the ear, although I wasn't pulling it harshly. Just holding it, Natsume looked away from me, tints of pink. "Hn."
I sighed, "Mikan-chan.... Teachers won't let the outside know. The truth is like that. We're caged in Mikan-chan..."
The ambience changed and Mikan looked stricken, her face pale and questioning.
Then Natsume started, "Especially a noticeable idiot like you? I don't think so."
He put his legs down and leaned forward. With a vein that popped up on my forehead. I whacked him, "Urusai!"
His hands flailed for the back of his head, "Itte!!"
Mikan looked mad though, she walked over towards Natsume and started yelling, "Narumi-sensei promised me! You little rebellious --"
"Ja, then where could your letters have gone?"
He looked at the window, partially looking at me, nervous. I slumped back, this wasn't worth it and she'd find out anyway. He relaxed at my reaction, now he seemed more into threatening Mikan.
"Soraewa... [That's...]"
"Given your current circumstances, I'll tell you something," Natsume paused for a second, "There will never be a day when Narumi delivers a letter to your grandpa."
I sighed. Everyone looked Mikan, all eyes softened. "No way..."
I stood up hooking an arm around Ruka. I whispered, "Will you come with me for a sec?"
His face was as red as crimson when I had his head in a head lock. Then with my other free hand, I waved it, then looked back a bit. "Iinchou, Hotaru, and Mikan you too."
Mikan's footsteps were easy to figure out, she was the one with the heavy footsteps, sulking. Then I heard another, "Natsu, you stay put."
He looked up startled, cause I had never turned around. I did then to look at his expression, but his gaze concentrated on Ruka, and Ruka went from Red to White. I could feel static, so I dragged the
rest of them out as quickly as possible.
--
We all sat down, Hotaru and I had come up with a plan, using Hotaru's monitor, it'd be no trick at all.
Mikan handed Narumi another letter, it had a microphone and everything so we could hear the stuff Narumi was going to say.
We huddled around next to the brick wall and listened intently.
I was zoning out, but my ears perked at what they were saying,
"After that incident, nullification-Alice has become a taboo around here."
"Yeah, that's why the higher-ups are so nervous."
"There's also Tsuki's Alice. Something completely unheard of."
"That's probably the one that's the major topic."
I bit my thumb and thought hard, Something's up... What is it?! Why do they keep concentrating on Mikan? And me too? My Alice is completely opposite from hers! What are they trying to do?
I messed up my hair trying to think, Ruka just scooted closer and placed his hand on top of my head.
"I'm with you all the way."
I smiled and hit him on the head, "Baka!"
He looked up, confused, I finished with a cheesy grin, "Of course."
Then the group picked up another thing,
"It's kind of depressing to watch you Narumi... To watch you put all those letters in the drawers. I feel pity for her, she doesn't even know!"
"All the letters she's written has piled up already..."
I looked over at Mikan's expression, she looked as if her breath stopped. Then she stood up, knocking me back and ran.
I sighed, supporting myself with my arms and Ruka's flailed arms around my shoulders.
"We all know what's going to happen, right?"
Everybody nodded.
-- Evening --
Mikan had earlier busted into the Faculty room and got in trouble with that evil sensei. The one with the frog and the eletrical thing he holds.
I was with Ruka, we were going to visit Mikan in place of Hotaru and Iinchou who couldn't make it through.
Confining someone to their room without dinner, that evil teacher was so harsh.
I watched as Ruka talked with a mouse into leading the dorm watcher robot away. As we heard it scurry
and the robot chase after it, Ruka whispered "Arigatou."
Both of us walked in with food in our hands.
Ruka held out the package to Mikan, "Imai and Tobita were worried... So... Here."
As soon as he handed it to her, "Ruka-pyon! Tsuki-chan!"
Mikan ran over to us, on the verge of tears. Her grip tightened around my left arm and his right.
"I... Want to see grandpa."
She started to cry, "Even if it's a glimpse! I wanna see!"
I tilted my head to the side and smiled. Ruka just whispered, "Sakura..."
"Neh Mikan-chan!"
She looked up at me.
"Who said we weren't going to help?"
I flashed her a grin and she glomped me. Her tears were soaking into my shoulders and her grip was
literally a death grip.
"I like this uniform. Don't ruin it."
"H-hai!"
Ruka smiled at me and I returned it with a look that said, you're-helping-too-you-baka.
--On the roof--
I couldn't stop laughing. I just couldn't! Seeing Ruka in a skirt was so totally worth this hell of an
academy! I pointed at him and laughed uncontrollably, he looked desperately embarrassed. I waved a
hand while laughing, "Gomen! Gomen! It's for work! Haha! Pfft!"
Then he clenched his hands into a fist, "Why do I have to do it?! You're already in a skirt Tsuki!"
I waved a finger at him, "Tsk tsk! I'll be busy in the faculty room."
Ruka had his hawk with him. Mikan was in Ruka's clothes and vise versa. Then Mikan took off while
grasping the ring that was clasped around the hawks talons.
Ruka whistled as it flew.
"Be sure to come back after seeing granpda!"
"Hai!"
Then I looked up noticing a firefly, I gave a full teeth smile and waved at it.
-- Hotaru and Iinchou --
Both of them were observing Ruka's, Mikan's, and Tsuki's actions through the monitor.
Hotaru started to talk in her monotone voice, "It seems Tsuki is very good at noticing things."
Iinchou stared in wonder, "Hiyoto-san is amazing..."
--Back to Tsuki--
When Mikan took off, and I saw the flash of electricity I grinned.
"My turn!"
Then I whipped around and waved at Ruka, "Neh, then... Ja-ne Ruka-chan!"
He smiled.
--
Flying down the stairs practically with my speed, I was in front of the faculty room door leaning against the wall,
"'Bout time you came out..."
I looked up, hands spread out,
"Narumi."
He stopped moving, he couldn't. Then I heard footsteps behind me. I looked back, "Eh? Natsu?"
He tangled his hand with his hair, "Baka! Tsuki you are such a baka! Helping out that baka! Ugh!"
But then his hand ruffled my hair and whispered, "I'll make sure you don't get hurt."
Then he kind of walked off... What the hell Natsu?!
I suddenly felt a chill then, as if something went stupidly not horribly but stupidly wrong. I had a feeling
Mikan was doing something stupid.
My mouth twitched and I turned to Narumi, "Neh sensei, I'm going to let you go."
He looked at me quizzically.
"It seems Mikan's in danger. A stupid one at that."
I put my hands to my side and went Narumi didn't move, I kicked his butt to get moving. Then I chased off after Natsume.
-- Back in my Room --
"Neh Natsu. It seems Mikan is now really attatched to Narumi. They had quite a conversation after the
whole event."
"Hm."
I looked over at him. We were both staring out the window, he was really close to me. I could feel his
breath against my head.
"Natsu...?"
"Hm?"
"You're weird."
"Eh?!"
With that he fell backwards. I guess he expected something different, then he started to flail his arms. "What do you mean weird?!"
I brought my finger to my lips, "Secret!"
Then I started to walk off to my bed but then he pinned me down, "What do you mean?!"
I freed one arm and poked him on the forehead, "Pervert."
He got off but didn't let go, "Tell me!"
I looked at him irritated, "You're weird. Weird, weird, weird!"
I could see anime veins pop up and he screamed. In frustration of course. While he was ranting on saying how, I kept on thinking, Natsu... I like you weird. No... I love you weird.
I looked at him, still concentrating on my thoughts while he had his arms crossed and then he leaned towards me. Knocking his forehead against mine, "You'll tell me."
"I won't!"
His expression changed, like... Shocked and annoyed. He looked at me intently.I smiled and thought, Aishiteru Natsu! Aishiteru...
