Creature Of the Night Prologue
Chapter 3 : Creature Of the Night Chapter 2
Mmmhhhmm..chapter 2. If you wondering how I can publish all these so quickly, it's 'cause I had them already typed out and everything.
Oh, and I accidentally put Creature of the Night Prologue so it looks like that's the series name.
Tactius woke up only to find himself alone in the grass. It was morning again. He realized that he must have slept through the day and then the next night! He got up lazily and looked around, his eyes still adjusting to the light. Karan was by the small creek, taking a swim and fishing for stray fish. Tactius walked over to where he was swimming and decided to help him catch the fish.
"Would you like some help," he asked.
"Good. You're awake. I would love some help," Karan replied.
Tactius dipped a paw into the water and fished around. He soon caught sight of a small fish gazing up at his paw cautiously. The water felt freezing on his soft flesh, but he ignored the icyness. The fish swam closer and closer to his paw, as if mesmorized my the slow movement. As it inched ever closer, Tactius exteneded his razor-sharp claws and slashed at the fish, catching it in his "talons". He pulled it out, almost feeling sorry for the thing, but remebered that everything would die someday.
"Nice catch. Now we only need a couple more."
"Thank you. It really was not that hard. Do you want this or should I just have it," Tactius asked, finally sensing his hunger.
"Keep that one, you probably haven't eaten in a while. I just ate about an hour ago," he said, "But, we probably should be leaving, we want to get there soon, right?"
"Yeah, sounds good." Tactius quickly ate his meal and his hunger was tipped off a little. He knew he would have to eat again soon anyway. Karan got out of the water and sook off himself, showering Tactius a bit in the process. He shivered and Karan noticed.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to do that to you," he said. Soon, they were off.

Tactius and Karan were walking for what felt like days. But, soon enough, the trees in the forest started to get farther and farther apart and bright yellow light came in, instead of the filtered green light that was coming in before. Even sooner, the trees completely gave way to grassy rolling hills.
"Soon, we will be coming to a small city, and I will have to leave you. I have learned that it is not normal to see a fox around town, the humans aren't used to it." Tactius looked at Karan with a questioning look on his face, he didn't know what humans were. "I guess you don't know what they are. You will have to learn much from the cats."
"Is that what I am? A 'cat'?"
"Yes. That is what the humans call your species."
"Ok. The word for what I am on my planet is different." Tactius played the word over in his mouth, it was strange on his tounge. But, he soon got used to it and they began to walk again. He began to feel nervous, the feeling was sort of new to him, he was rarely nervous. The butterflies fluttered in his stomach more with each step. He walked onward, very exited for the event that was coming up.
"When we get to the edge of the city, I'm going to leave you. You will have to find the cats by yourself, but, don't worry, They aren't that hard to find. They usually hang out in an abandoned building or something like that. You will just have to search around the city for a bit. You understand?"
"Yes. I do. Thanks for all your help." Tactius and Karan could see the roofs of houses and the roads far away. They stood on the top of the hill, watching the people move about below.
They began to walk again, and soon they reached the edge of the city.
"I hope that we will meet again sometime. And I wish you good luck in this new place. Farewell," said Karan.
"Thank you for helping me. I hope that we meet again also. Goodbye." Karan walked off without another word. Tactius took a very deep breath of the cool air and took a long stride onto the sidewalk.
