Chapter 40 : .: I Want To Kiss Or Kill My Beloved Enemy [Theon] :. 039
The feeling of warm silken sheets wrapped around my body was possibly the most comforting thing that I could have woken up to. But even so I had an uneasy feeling in my stomach as my consciousness slowly drifted back from whatever useless dream I was currently having. As my eyelids slowly fluttered open and my retina got used to the darkness in the room, I realized where this anxious feeling had come from.
My surroundings consisted of a nightstand in a small, plain yellow room that didn’t have very many furnishings in it. In other words, this wasn’t my apartment. And considering that I hadn’t gone on a vacation in a few years, I most certainly wasn’t used to waking up in a room other than my own. I figured that I wasn’t entirely comfortable in a bed other than my own.
I sat up in the unfamiliar bed and looked at my phone to see what time it was. The LCD screen not only read that it was 6 in the evening, but it also was adorned with a 5 Missed Calls symbol. As I assumed, all of the five were from Farrah.
As I yawned and collapsed back into the warm bed, I dialed her back and waited for her answer. An impatient, “Hello?” followed not too later.
“Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Was Monkey Boy too tired to have hot monkey sex with you today?” I answered.
“No, he provided me with plenty of hot monkey sex, thanks,” she replied in a dry tone. “I’m just annoyed that you’ve been asleep for so long. I mean, when was the last time you slept? Last year?”
“It seems like it,” I replied as I let yet another yawn escape. “What are we doing today?”
“Probably just giving you a tour of Tampere.”
“You mean you’re giving me a tour of Tampere’s bars?” I asked knowingly.
“Exactly,” she replied, laughing. “Can you go to Theon’s apartment? We’ll meet both of you there.”
“I don’t know where he lives…”
“Just walk out of the hotel, walk one block over to the left, and the first apartment you see will be his. He’s on the second floor. Just call if you have any trouble finding it though.”
“Alright. I’m going to take a shower and get ready first so I’ll see in an hour or so.”
“Okay, bye,” she said before hanging up. I set my phone back on the table before pulling the comforters aside and stepping out of my bed onto the cold wooden floor.
I didn’t waste time as I stripped out of my clothes and stepped into the warm shower in the white, spotless bathroom. I washed out my hair since it felt all greasy and dirty from the plane ride. I stepped out, wrapped a towel around myself, and didn’t pause for a second before starting on drying out my hair with the hairdryer I had brought along.
I wasn’t what most people called a light packer. In fact, I had brought along more bags than all the guys and Farrah. I had one bag for shoes and other accessories, and then two for just clothes. It wasn’t easy for me to pick out outfits so when traveling, I just brought everything along with me.
I straightened my hair with my straightener and left the bottom ends a little curly to add shape. I wanted to go slightly natural with my makeup so I put on a bit of bronzer and mascara before finishing up with my hair and makeup. An outfit was yet to be determined.
I walked over to my two clothing bags and opened them up to reveal the perfectly organized contents inside. I sifted through my casual-formal wear before finally deciding on a light white summer dress. It was really casual, so I put a brown belt across the front of it to make it look more like I actually cared what I was wearing. After slipping on a pair of brown stilettos, I was finally finished.
Considering that I was in Finland in the wintertime, I grabbed one of the long black coats I had brought along. I grabbed my room key and a brown clutch purse before heading downstairs to walk to Theon’s. The second I stepped outside though, I felt like I had frozen to my very core. It was already pitch black and everything looked frozen over, including me.
Now more determined more than ever to get into a heated home, I walked as fast I could towards Theon’s place with the directions Farrah gave me not too long ago. By the time I made it a block away from the hotel, I was practically sprinting inside. I made it up to the second floor to find that there was only one door on it, so I assumed that it was Theon’s.
I repeatedly knocked on the door, not planning to stop until someone opened the door. A few seconds later, a pissed-off looking Theon opened the door, and the look didn’t soften when he saw that it was I behind it.
“What do you want?” he snapped, not even opening the door to let me in.
“I want to come in,” I said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
“Why?”
I rolled my eyes at him. “Stop being such an asshole with a stick up your arse and let me in. Farrah’s meeting us here and then we’re going out.”
He grumbled something inaudible in Finnish and opened the door a little wider to let me in. The second I walked inside I was met with a little creature jumping up on me. I looked down and saw an excited Mini barking as if I were gone for years. I grinned as I picked up the small furball of joy and kissed her wet little nose while she licked my face.
I looked around the apartment with Mini still my arms and found that it was a cute little place. I wouldn’t have minded living here, although my apartment was still a little more classy. I walked into the living area and was met with a girl about my age sitting on the sofa. She had long, brown hair and a fashionable taste in clothes. The first thing I could think was that she was gorgeous.
Theon followed behind me. “Aiden, this is Ria, my girlfriend. Ria, this is Aiden, a friend of Farrah’s.”
The girl stood up and held out her hand. “It’s nice to meet you,” she said with a friendly smile on her face.
I put Mini down and returned her smile and shook her hand. “Nice to meet you. I’ve heard a lot of good things about you from Theon,” I lied, smiling. I figured that Theon was an asshole to her like he was with everyone else so I might as well have scored him some bonus points from his girlfriend.
“That’s good to hear,” she replied, shooting a loving gaze at Theon. He merely smiled back at her. “Where are you from, Aiden?”
“I flew in from LA.”
“Ah, I see. Is this you first time here?”
“Yeah, it is.”
“You’re going to love it here! If you want, I could show you around a bit when Farrah is too busy or something. Just have Theon give you my number. I’d love to hang out with you some time!”
“Yeah, that sounds good to me,” I said, amazed at how friendly this girl was.
“But I have to go for now. I’ll see you around, though!” she said as she grabbed her bag from the sofa. She gave Theon a quick peck on the lips and let herself out.
“She is way too nice for you,” I said to Theon as I sat down on his sofa and picked up Mini again to play with her.
“It’s none of your business,” he mumbled, sitting down across from me.
“So why were you so quiet? You’re usually way too outspoken for your own good.”
He shrugged as he stared absentmindedly at the coffee table in front of him. I just shot a glance at him before going back to playing with the epitome of my joy.
“Do you like her?” he asked after some time.
I looked up at him curiously. “Why are you seeking my approval?”
“I’m not seeking your approval,” he practically snapped back at me. “I just want to know if you like her. You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.”
“I like her so far. She seems friendly. The question is do you like her?”
He stared at Mini as she chewed on her toy, as if thinking deeply about the question before he chose to answer. “Yeah, I think I love her.”
“Well, congratulations, then,” I replied.
“You don’t have to sound so mocking,” he said as he glared at me.
“I didn’t!” I replied, now getting defensive. “I don’t know what your problem is today. We were just having a decent conversation and of course you have to ruin it!”
“You started it! Maybe if you didn’t feel the need to ridicule me all the time, we’d get along. You’re so condescending! You claim you ‘love’ Chris, yet everyone knows you’re just after him for the money.”
I stared at him for a few seconds before bursting out laughing. “That, by far, is the most amusing thing you have ever accused me of. I mean, really!” I said through my tears of laughter.
“See, this is what I mean! You just mock everything I do!”
“I can’t help it,” I said as I wiped some tears away. “You’re just so…mockable,” I mused.
He answered my laughs with a hard glare. Just as he opened his mouth to most likely retort with a witty comeback, a knock came from the door, which I assumed was from Farrah. Theon didn’t even look at me as he got up and walked to the door to let her in.
Farrah walked in first as Vivian and Theon stood by the door speaking in Finnish. I could only assume that Theon was complaining about my presence in Tampere, but I couldn’t even care less.
“Why do you leave me alone with him? I swear, one of these days, one of us is just going to get tired of all this nonsense fighting and just pull a knife on the other. If he buried me somewhere in Finland, nobody would ever even know…”
“If you ever disappear off the face of this Earth, I promise I’d dig up all of Finland for you.”
“And you’re not going to do anything to Theon?”
“Unfortunately, no. As much as Monkey Boy likes you, he would be in a monkey rage if he finds out I’m out to put his bandmate and lover into a jail cell forever.”
“Thanks. It’s nice to know you would do absolutely nothing to my murderer.”
“Oh, shush. Theon wouldn’t hurt a fly.”
“No, Theon couldn’t hurt a fly, even if he tried.”
“I heard that!” Theon said as he walked in, shooting me a glare.
“Right…well, before we start another fight, are you guys ready to go?”
“You guys? He’s coming too?” I asked her.
“Of course I’m coming. Do you know how many times I’ve had to carry your drunken ass home before?” he snapped.
“As if you didn’t enjoy it,” I mumbled quietly as I rolled my eyes.
“What did you just say?” he asked me suspiciously.
“Nothing. Let’s just go before Theon throws a girly hissy-fit again.”
“Good idea,” Farrah said as she practically shoved us out the door.
