P.O.V. – Hikke

I walked through the town, not really seeing or hearing anything. Hakaruyuu was sitting on my shoulder, squalling quietly. “Shush, Hakuruyuu. We’re going to a library. You have to be quiet.” I scalded quietly. He immediately quieted. The library in front of me was smaller then the one that I met Mira at, but wasn’t too small. I walked in, not really thinking about anything. My mind was a complete blank…that was the safest place for me to be in right now. “Excuse me, sir?” somebody said. I looked over slowly. A man was looking at me over his glasses. “Can I help you?” he asked. I turned to him and forced myself to smile. “I’m here to check out books.” The man looked at me, then sighed. “Alright. Go ahead.” I walked quickly away before he could change his mind. There wasn’t very many other people in the library. I walked past everybody to an aisles until I found one empty one. I walked down and looked through the aisle, then stopped near the end. The wall was creamy tan, an almost welcoming color. I turned from that to the shelves to find a book that looked interesting. I picked a random one and sat down, crossed legged, with my dragon beside me, and began reading. After I finished that book quickly, I grabbed another. After about an hour, I had a pile of books around me. “Umm…Excuse me?” a soft voice whispered. I looked up from my book. A girl smiled gently down at me. Her hair was falling around her shoulders. “Can I please help you put the books back? I need to clean up before I go.” She said softly. My heart skipped a beat. “Um…Sure. Sorry.” I said softly. I stood up, grabbing an armload of books, and began putting them back on the shelf. She reached down slowly and grabbed a lot of books. She began shelving them next to me, and I noticed her golden necklace. I looked at her, then back to the books. She was beautiful. When I was freezing only seconds ago, I suddenly felt like I was sweating. Her hand brushed mine as she was putting a book, but she didn’t seem to notice. Her skin was soft and gently, and I could almost feel her bones under her hand, she was so thin. When she finished helping me put the books up, I got a better look at her necklace. “It’s a power limiter…” I mumbled, surprised. She looked at me, then grabbed her necklace, taking a step back from me. “No, no. It’s okay. I’m the same as you!” I said quickly, stepping toward her and taking her hand gently. “I’m Cho Hikke…but you can call me Hikke.” I said softly, pulling her closer to me. She looked me into the eyes slowly, and her breath seemed to falter. “I’m…um…I’m Yoko.” She said softly. I smiled at her. “Well, hello, Yoko.” It was the first time that I had felt normal around anyone in a while. She smiled gently. Her face was a little odd, kind of pale. Her eyes were glittering slightly. “Do…Do you want to go get something to…um…eat?” I asked quietly. Yoko’s eyes dropped. “Oh no! I have to go!” she said quickly, turning around. She took her hand out of mine and ran through the library quickly. I reached after her, but my hand came on thin air. I watched her go with a sigh.

After a while, we all met up. The whole party. Gojo and Mira were looking a little too happy, but Mira was freaking out over the new girl in our party, Mari. The two of them seemed to know each other pretty well. Gojo kept his arms around Mira’s waist, but let her have her fun. Tara and Goku were giggled about something, but I didn’t pay much attention. Sanzo was eyeing Mari, his face confused. “Let’s go get something to EAT!” Goku yelled out, punching the air. Everybody else turned to Tara, but I was too busy thinking. “Hey! Let’s go somewhere else.” She said quietly, laughing. Mari giggled. “Why don’t we go to this restaurant that I like?” she asked everybody. They all chatted in ecstasy, but I was thinking…remembering. The group started moving in one direction, and I followed. We ended up walking into a large, open restaurant. We all quickly took a seat. The others were still chatting, but Yoko was the only thing I could concentrate on. “Excuse me?” God…that soft voice…that beauty. “Can I get your drinks?” I looked up from my memory. Drinks? What the…? My eyes went straight to her eyes. She was smiling, but her eyes were on the floor. “Yoko?” I whispered. I looked around. Nobody said anything about m murmur, so I forgot about it with a shake of my head. After we all ordered, I excused myself. I had to get out of there. I walked over to the door, but froze. I heard soft steps behind me, and I spun around, catching a wrist and a waist. Yoko was looking at me, her eyes half-closed. “I’m…sorry. You seemed upset.” She said softly. I couldn’t help myself anymore. I pulled her close to me, against my chest, and held her. I dropped my hand from her wrist to her waist. She gasped slightly, then relaxed against me. She lifted her hands up to my chest, sighing. “Hikke?” she said softly. I gasped, pulling away. “Oh, I am SO sorry!” I said quickly, trying to calm my breath. She smiled at me. “Don’t be. Are you alright?” I took a deep breath and nodded. She nodded slowly and left. I stared after her, trying to keep my heart slow. I sighed, then walked back to the group. I stopped half-way, though, my skin prickling, and ran out the door. Hakuruyuu looked up at me, squealing happily. I ignored him, for once, and walked down to the road. “Hikke!” I turned around. Yoko walked over to me. She was a little out of breath, but I thought it was adorable. “Um…You don’t know the town well, right?” she said in her whispery voice. “Do…Do you want me to help you around?” I smiled at her, touching her shoulders gently. “Sure.”
