Chapter 3 : There's Nothing Much I Can Do {03} -The Bet-
I might not be posting for a while- darn high school! But anyways, enjoy this chapter! XP
Creating a blur around her, Tayfer ran to her room. She needed to think about this-since her last thinking period was cut short by somene's arrival.
Once at the door of her room, she took a deep breath and opened the huge elm doors. The window opposite of her had the curtains drawn back. Her canopy style bed had the curtains shut around it. Her desk-which was against the window-sat untouched, as well as her dresser, closet and bathroom. The furniture was mohogany, while the fabrics from the curtains to the carpet were red.
Tayfer inhaled at the sight of her room. Basking in the silence that always awaited her.
She walked over to the edge of her bed, and pulled opened the curtains to reveal the red satin covers and someone else that she didn't want to see.
Jaiden was sleeping under the covers with someone under his arm.
Tayfer retched in disgust as she realized that that someone, was another all too familiar face.
"When I said you could use my room I didn't mean that you could use it for this particular business." Tayfer said, smirking at the couple. This just made her day all the better.
Waking up to her voice, the couple stirred hurriedly. They were both nude under the covers, and quickly pulled their clothes on from behind their pillows.
"What the hell, Tayfer!" Jaiden said angrily, "Do you even know what time it is?!"
"Yes I do." Tayfer said triumphantly, "It's time for you two to find another room. Now go!" She pointed towards the doors, and the couple lazily slid out of her bed.
"Except you." she said commandingly to the girl, "I want to talk to you, Faine."
Slowly turning around, the red head had a scared look to her brown eyes. She shuddered at the sound of her name.
When Jaiden closed the door Faine stopped walking towards Tayfer.
"What was that?" she asked suspiciously, raising an eyebrow, "I thought that you left after the funeral?"
"Well," Faine started, "You see... It was like... He was... I couldn't help myself!" She said, as tears started to form in her eyes.
"Calm down Faine. I was only asking." Tayfer chuckled at Faine's fear. This was going to be an interesting conversation.
"Oh..." Faine said, smiling sheepishly and wiping away her tears, "I thought that you would be mad..."
"Well I am."
There was a silence, and Faine braced herself upon impacted, which didn't happen.
"I'm mad because you guys didn't find another room to do it in!" she roared with laughter this was priceless.
"B-But." Faine sputtered, "Shouldn't you be mad at me?"
"Do you want me to be?" Tayfer asked seriously, "Because I can. And I will. Besides, I have way to much anger to bottle up inside." She shrugged.
"N-No, that's alr-right." Faine smiled at her generosity.
"You know that my bedroom is off limits, even to family, right?" Tayfer asked bemused by Faine's sudden softness. Who knows what could happen in a few years?
'First Alex, now Faine?" Tayfer asked, chuckling to herself, "Who else has gone soft over the years?"
"Oh, yes... I forgot, sorry." she replied timidly.
"You don't have to apologize Faine, I was just saying." Tayfer explained, letting a small smile creep from her lips, "Besides, what's gotten into you?"
"What do you mean?" Faine asked, regaining her self confidence.
"You've gone soft." Tayfer said knowingly.
"I have not!" Faine cried offended.
"Yes, you have."
"Well, at least I haven't been exposing myself to the light."
"And what's that supposed to mean?"
"You know to much! You're always up in everyone's business!"
"How so?" it was Tayfer's turn to be offended.
"Like, right now!"
"How am I getting up in your business?"
"By asking what's up with me and Jaiden!" and with that Faine covered her mouth hastily.
Tayfer laughed so hard that the stitch in her side was ready to burst.
"What's so funny?!" Faine asked, her voice raising angrily with every word.
"So-You-Are-Toget-her!" Tayfer said, through every gasp of air she could intake.
"Yah, so what if we're together!"
"I bet-That you two-Would Get-Together by the end of the year!" Tayfer managed to say, this was too funny.
"You what!?!" Faine gasped at the news, "You bet on us!?!"
"Yep," she said, finally subsiding to giggles, "And I won. So I guess your father owes me a new chandelier."
"Are you serious!?!" Faine asked, still shocked, "A new chandelier!?!"
"Ahuh." Tayfer replied, now smiling at Faine's amazement.
"My father-But then-You-How did you manage to pull it off!?"
"I didn't."
"For a new chandelier? C'mon, not even you're that good."
"Maybe I am."
Letting out a sigh of frustration, Faine walked over to the bed and sat on its edge.
Tayfer, still bursting with laughter, joined her, and tried to calm her down.
"Don't worry, Faine."
"Worry? WORRY!?! You just staked the odds from nine-hundred and ninety-nine to one!"
"Well, love is weird." Tayfer was glad to have a little 'girl-talk' again, she was starting to wonder if anybody had humor anymore.
"You could say that again." came a voice from the bedroom entrance. It was Alex.Did you like this story? Make one of your own!
