P.O.V. – Tara

I giggled, shaking my head as Goku and I walked outside. Sanzo was walking slowly behind us, obviously thinking. Hikke was behind him, silent and unsmiling. I knew that, whatever was wrong with Hikke, was really bugging Sister…but she didn’t tell me anything anymore. She was becoming a little quieter around me because she didn’t really have anything to say. We were always around each other, so we couldn’t hide anything. Goku was great, he loved my cooking and just ME in general, but Sanzo and I aren’t really close. He’s a little jerk-ish if you ask me, so I don’t care very much about him. But Hikke was usually really nice to me, and Gojo too. Now…well, it seems like our family is becoming a little…separated. I was thinking about all of this stuff whenever I bumped into somebody. He knocked me down, making me hit the ground a little hard. “Hey! WATCH IT, LITTLE GIRL.” He growled at me. “sorry…” I whispered. Goku came to my side, glaring up at the man. “Sorry don’t cut it, little one…You need to make it up to meh.” He growled, leaning over me. “Get off me.” I said quietly, trying to move away from his searching hand. “Why? You owe me.” Goku jumped between us, his weapon raised. “Back off, old man!” he growled. Fear shot through my heart. The man backed off slightly. “Get your slut and get out of here, damn demon.” He growled. Goku lifted me up and pushed me, gently, towards Sanzo. “Oh, Goku! Just let it go!” I said quietly. He shook his head. “Can’t do…He pushed you to the ground and called you…he called you something horrible.” He growled, wincing. The man glared at him, popping his knuckles. Goku glared at him, but was suddenly thrown out of my view by a lot of men crowding around him. “GOKU!” I yelled, trying to push my way threw the crowd. Somebody threw me back, but somebody ELSE caught me. I had to be female…the grip was too soft and easy. “Follow me.” A familiar voice whispered in my ear. I didn’t look at her, just let her pull me through the growing crowd. I heard screams and yells, but closed my eyes. When I heard a door close, I opened my eyes and looked around. We were in what looked like the back of a restaurant. I turned around to see the person who helped me out. She had long, teal/black hair. She was wearing a black jacket over a white shirt and tight jeans. “Oh…my…god…Is that you? Mari?!” I asked, gasping. The girl looked down at me, smiling. “You haven’t changed much, Tara.” She said softly. “Oh wow! Sister is going to be so happy to see you! What are you doing here? You’re really far from the palace!” She smiled kindly down at me. “I left.” She said simply. I stared at her for a few seconds. “You…left?” was all I could think to say. Mari nodded. “What do you MEAN you left? What about your family?” I asked quickly. Mari shrugged. “They TOLD me to go.” She said softly. I shook my head, dazed. “They…TOLD you to?” I asked. Mari nodded. “They told me to find true love and watch out for you and your older sister.” She said, smiling. “True love, huh?” I mumbled, smiling brightly. Mari nodded. “Come on, though. We better go get your boyfriend.” I blushed fiercely, nodding. “Yeah…Right…Let’s go get Goku.” I mumbled.

After we got Goku from a bunch of passed out old men, we wandered around the town. Mari pointed out a few hotspots, and Goku held my hand the whole time. I didn’t know where Sanzo was, but I didn’t really care right now. My old friend was back and my…my “boyfriend” was safe. The sun was bright and the sky was clear. What a perfect day!
