The Nobodies (A Columbine Love Story) Chapter 5 Meeting the Parents

Waking up in the morning, I remebered the meeting that would take place straight away after school, so I put on a black poka dotted tank top with a bright red cardigan and black skinny jeans with black heels. I only put on some lipgloss, cause Eric had this thing about looks, he didn't like people who care TOO much about their looks, so yeah. I went to school finding, Eric and Dylan. "So guys what to you think?" I asked, turning around "Beautiful" They said at the same time, "Thanks, you two are very relaxed" They wore they're same black army pants but with different shirts, Eric had a white vest inside and a blue shirt opened, while Dylan had a navy blue top, saying 'no more' I asked him about it but his shrugged and said "Got it from somewhere" Suspicious? I shrugged it off. After another boring day of school, it was time to meet his parents. We started walking towards his house"What's wrong Ashli, you look like a ghost" "Oh, I'mjust nervous....um, do I look alright, Eric do I?"He frowned "Look,don't stress about it, your fine, stop worrying about your looks" I nodded obidently "Has Dylan met them before?" "Yes" Eric replied, with Dylan nodding his head. "Great, I'm the only one who'sgoing to die" "You'll do fine!" Eric insited, kissing me on the cheek, I blushed, he lookedaway.We arrived at the door and Eric knocked, it opened and there appeared friendly looking people. "Ahh! There she is, you must be Ashli" "Yes, hello, ma'm" "No, call me Cathy, come on in" she continued "Hello Eric, Dylan, how lovely!"
"Eric get them a drink" Cathytold him, I metEric's father "Call me Wayne" Aboy a bit older than Eric came in, I shook his hand,like I did with Cathy and Wayne. "Hi, I'm Kevin" Eric came in withcoke and set them down on thecoffe table.Kevin added "Are you Eric's girlfriend?" My mouth opened but Eric inturupted "No, we're just dating" "Oh, well I'll hope you'llbe his girlfriend, you two look splendid together" I didn't argue, I couldn't do nothing!I justblushed so brightly,I could be a tomato.Dylan wanted to laugh, I could tell. "Well, done boy, you got a girl, a beautiful one too!"I blushed, again "Dinner!" Cathy announced,Wayne was at the head of the table, then it was Cathy and Kevinon the left, then Eric, me and Dylan on the right. We had a roast chickenwith potatoes and peas/carrots. "Eric wants to join the marines"Wayne mentioned "How nice" Cathy agreed "I hopethat won'teffect youtwogetting married and havingbabies" Itried not to choke on the peas and carrots in my mouth, Dylan was stiffling a laugh, I kicked him underneath the table, then Cathy asked how Dylan's parents were.After dinner, came the dessert. It was vanilla ice cream withcolourful sprinkles, sugar strands and silver sugar balls withwhipped cream, "This is my favourite!" I exclaimed "Really? It's Eric's favourite too" I nodded politley,yeah! Realgreat Ashli!
Cathy asked me to talk in the kitchen privately after desert,I agreed"Areyou pregnant?"She came out with the question softly "No, I'm not" "Ok, butif you are, tellme,I'd like some grandchildren""Don't worry,ifI'am, you'd be the first to know""Thanks" "Do need any help with the plates" "No,I'll be fine" We came back out of thekitchen. "You can go" Wayne said, after I closed the bedroom door dehind me, Dylan, collapsed withlaughter "That was classic!" Dylan commented "It's not funny!" "Dylan, get out, I need to talk to Ashli" "Okay, I'll go laugh outside" Once he was gone I tensed. "Ashli....I...I think we should start dating" My mouth opened in a perfect O. "Yeah, we should, so we're dating no?" "Yes" He huggedme "Thank goodness I got that over with!" I chuckled "Let's tell Dylan" So we did, he frownedthen went back to normal "Don't worry, we're gonna take this really slow" I told Dylan. After Doom, I had to go home.We went downstairs and I hugged Cathy " See ya!" "Come back soon!" She replied "Bye Wayne" I hugged him and Kevin came up to me and hugged me "Stay in the family" "Of course" I kissed Eric on the lips, hugged Dylan and walked home. I jumped on my bed and fell asleep, then I just thought, I'M DATING ERIC HARRIS!"
