In The Shards of Broken Glass ~Kaname Kuran~ #1
Chapter 1 : In The Shards of Broken Glass ~Kaname Kuran~ #1
A strange girl comes to Cross Academy, speaking and acting strange with every day that passes. With her servant/guardian, odd habits, dark past, sheer defiance, and a deep hatred for both humans and vampires...how will the young vampiress react when faced with the biggest challenge of her life.........Kaname Kuran.
A file was dropped upon a glass table, it's contents slipping out and strewing across the surface.
"We...do not agree with this." A soft voice said, cutting through the slightly tense air like a hot knife through butter. The male standing on the opposite side of the table sighed, hanging his head slightly as he let his long dark hair fall over his shoulders.
"My lady, please try to understa-" A pillow made contact with his face, falling to the floor as he looked momentairily shocked.
"Thou knows of our hate for those who devour the flesh of cows and those who consume their blood, Baojia!" The voice said in a sharper, harsher tone, another pillow being thrown and dodged.
"We do not want to attend an academy with either vile race!!" The man, Baojia, let his expression turn into a tired and concerned one.
"I know, my lady, but please...it was what your father willed..." The room was silent, the only sound being the form upon the couch clutching a pillow to itself, pulling it's knees up as a teddy bear was snuggled. The form fell upon the couch, still clutching the bear and the pillow as long, beautiful strands of silvery-blue hair pooled around it.
"I do not understand...how can my lady...hate her own kind so much? More so than humans?" Baojia asked softly, making his way over to the couch slowly. He sat down next to the dainty form, running his fingers through the silky strands of oddly hued hair.
"Because...Nasfuatu are nothing more than destroyers of lives..." A graceful hand reached up and let the finger tips brush Baojia's cheek lightly. He placed his hand over it, holding the cool palm to his cheek as he closed his eyes.
"But to my lady...humans are no different than vampires." He stated softly, furrowing his brows in sadness. Another hand was placed to his face, the form sitting up and placing its forehead against his.
"Please do not make such a face, Baojia...thou makes us upset when he does..." The figure whispered.
"I am sorry...please forgive me..." He whispered back, biting his lip slightly.
"Thou...is so lucky he is a demon, Baojia. If not, we would've killed thee long ago..." Baojia opened his eyes, staring sadly at the person in front of him.
"Do not cry, my lady."
"One must have tears in order to cry, that is one of the many things...we do not have." A tiny smile pulled upon the figures lips, causing Baojia to soften his gaze.
"Please do not blame youself for that night so long ago....it wasn't your fault, princess..."

"Huh? A new student?" Yuki asked, blinking at her adopted father, the chairman of Cross Academy. Zero stood next to her, looking as pissed off as always.
"Yes, she should be here soon enough, and I want either you or Kiryu-kun to show her around the grounds and let her know about the rules." Zero twitched, slamming his fist down upon the desk as he crushed it in half...again.
"Zero!" Yuki yelped, trying to yank him back.
"You woke me up at three in the morning, JUST FOR THIS!?" He bellowed, his entire body shaking from anger. The chairman drew back slightly, adjusting his glasses.
"Well-" The door to the office creaked open, a tall man with long dark hair and strange eyes walking in, raising an eyebrow slightly. He carried a teddy bear under his arm, his button-down shirt open to revealed his muscular chest.
"Did I come at a bad time?" The chairman perked up.
"Ah, Baojia! You came right on time!!" Yuki and Zero both stared.
'Is that...the new student...?'
"Hey, I though you said the new student was a girl." Zero said, his irritation growing.
"We are female..." A soft voice said, a girl walking in behind Baojia, dressed in a beautiful black chinese dress with her hair pulled up into a strange bun. Zero scowled as Yuki stared in awe, mainly at her silvery-blue hair and matching eyes.
"Ah, Xian-chan! I'm glad to have you as a part of our academy, but...where is your uniform...?"
"It was too big for my lady." Baojia stated, handing the girl the teddy bear he was holding. She gladly took it, squeezing it tightly in a hug.
"Oh. Well, I'll have Kiryu-kun go fetch a smaller size for her while my dearest Yuki-chan can show her around~!" Zero glared darkly at the chairman, scoffing slightly. Yuki just beamed, walking over to the girl.
"You're going to be in the night class right? Well, that's good, that way you have plenty of time to rest before you actually start school here!!" She stated cheerily, not really noticing that she reached out to take hold of the girl's arm. The girl's eyes widened and she tore her arm out of Yuki's grasp, baring her fangs slightly.
"Thou shant touch and dirty us with thy vile being!" She snarled, Baojia suddenly pulling out a gun at the same moment one was pressed against the back of her head.
"Get away from her or pay dearly, vampire." Baojia growled, his eyes flashing yellow. Zero narrowed his eyes.
"What are you?"
"None of your damn business."
"ENOUGH!!" Yuki snapped, pushing the gun away from Baojia and the vampiress. She hufffed.
"Go get the uniform already." She turned to find Baojia looking over the girl.
"Are you hurt at all?"
"We are fine...just extremely violated..." She muttered in response. Yuki gulped slightly.
"Um, I can start showing you around now if you want, um..." The girl looked to her, her expression cold.
"We are Jing Shu of the Xian clan. You may address us and Jing." She said, hugging the bear closer to her chest. Yuki forced a smile and opened the door.
"Please follow me." Baojia looked down at Jing as she peered up at him"
"Will thou be alright, Baojia?" She asked softly, getting a nod for a reply.
"I will be fine with worrying for my lady for a while...I have matters to discuss with the chairman, after all." Jing nodded slightly, turning and following Yuki as what she concidered the safest distance.
Yuki sighed slightly. She'd just met this absolutly mysterious girl and Jing already hated her guts.
It took about an hour or so to complete the tour off the grounds, the last place left being the Moon Dorm.
"And this," Yuki stopped in front of the gate, beaming, "is the dorm you'll be placed in...the Moon Dorm!!" Jing was glaring up at the building.
"It reeks of Nafuratu...we do not like it." Yuki blinked in confusion, about to ask something when Jing spun around on her heel and began walking back towards the direction of the office.
"We do not feel safe without Baojia, therefor we are going back." Jing stated calmly and she took long strides, almost like she wished to get as far away as she could from Yuki...which, in a way, she did.
"Uh...w-wait up!!" Yuki called, running after the smaller vampiress.
