My Dear Juliet Part 6
"So what are you guys up to tonight?" Justin asked from behind his car.
"Hanging out with my pals," Josh replied with a smile as he carefully began putting away the drum set, "like always."
"Right on! Ey Ronnie, what about you?" Justin's head peeked over the top of a blue Camaro.
"Um," Ronnie mumbled in deep thought, "yeah, whatever. Just try to clean up after yourselves for once!"
"Calm down, we're not that mean." Justin pulled out his keys from the car door and strode over to the garage. The small white door to the kitchen opened and Alan came out holding the cool refreshments.
"Finally!" Josh yelled, as he and the other two ran over to grab a water bottle. The drinks were distributed to the dying boys; all but one got their wish.
"Where's mine!?" Ronnie pleaded with a wearisome look on his face.
"Inside." Alan simply stated, opening his share and immediately gulping it down. With that being said Ronnie stormed off into the house.
The door creaked open and a head of messy black hair peeked in. Ronnie's eyes looked around the kitchen in search of any sort of refreshments to lower his feeling of dehydration; at last, resting on a girl that sat quietly at the dining table. Her face as well as her stare, was expressionless. Juliet's eyes were fixed upon something on the tabletop, not daring to glance away from the same spot. "Julie." Her head did not turn an inch, "Juliet." Ronnie repeated a little louder, still no movement. He quietly walked over and positioned himself in front of her. Ronnie's face came into level with Juliet's as he began looking intently into her eyes.

I pushed the remaining question out of my mind and woke up from my deep thought. I concentrated on regaining my view and quickly blinked to clear my vision. As I opened my eyes, someone's face suddenly zoomed into focus. Another replica of eyes, composed of a gorgeous auburn color [under some patches of dark hair], was staring at me with great interest. His lips curved into a smile and I finally realized who it was, "Ronnie!?"
"What're you up to princess?" he stared into my eyes.
"Uh…" I tried hard to regain my senses and concentrate on the answer to his question, "just thinking."
"About what!? You seemed really out of it," he slowly drew away from me, still smiling.
"I'm not sure myself." I gave Ronnie a big grin and got up from the chair, grabbing the remaining three bottles of water from the table and heading for the door. Ronnie followed.
The five of us were assembled around the garage, chatting and laughing. A few hours went by and no one even noticed. It was now somewhere around six. The sun threw orange illuminations across the sky, getting ready to dive. Tall shadows were occupying the whole street; now in a colorless state. The darkening blanket, made by the tightly packed houses across the entire neighborhood, was getting bigger and bigger as the tiny minutes went by.
'Should I write myself out of the history books, and mark a place in time for every chance you took. Don't get me wrong…'
I nearly dropped my water as I sat up and tried desperately to get my phone out of my slim pocket just in time to answer. "Hello?" I flipped open the cell, putting it up to my ear. The other line was silent. I moved the phone in front of my face to see what had happened. Whoever called me had either hung up or didn't have the patience to wait for an answer. I closed my cell and roughly stuffed it back into my jeans. The whole gang was now staring at me with puzzling faces. "Wrong number," I replied to their unspoken question of confusion, grabbing my half empty water bottle from the floor and draining it in one gulp.
The light rays were barely visible now, the source itself hidden behind a few trees and residences. I looked up and down the street, wondering when I'm going to be able to go home. I certainly wasn't leaving by myself once the sun went down. I looked over at Ronnie and Alan, both sitting across from me, conversing in a deep discussion. Not wanting to distract anyone, I simply sat back and glanced up at the sky. A few clouds were floating overhead. So, I resorted to making random shapes and pictures out of the fluffy entities with the use of my imagination. Not long after seeing a chubby hippo in a tutu, a car was heard turning the corner and making its way onto our street. A black Toyota pulled up to our house and stopped at the curb right behind Justin's ride. The passenger door opened and a blonde girl, carrying two plastic shopping bags came out. My lips managed to carve a smile onto my expressionless face as I stood up and started walking towards her, "Lorraine?"
Her head jerked up and her eyes rested on me. Lorraine's face looked taken aback but she soon regained her senses and quickly formed a slight grin, "Hey what's up Jules?"
"Uh…" I was still unsure of what to say or ask her, so I went with the first thing that came to mind, "What are you doing here?" She stopped dead in her tracks and spun her head around, glancing at the black car, now parked on the side of the street. I followed her gaze and stopped on the face of a boy who was getting out of the driver's side; his hand coming up to his face and brushing back some stray hair from his eyes, while the shortened black layers on top of his head flew in the breeze. He walked around the car and I was finally able to see his whole figure; a black tee hugged his torso as the breeze collided with his stature while dark denims wrapped tightly around his legs. I could feel my stomach sink as the boy took another step closer. Why was she in his car? What the hell is Lorraine doing with Craig?
