Chapter 10 : Wish Upon a Star [Oliver Wood Story] #8
Jenny had decided to skip supper. She didnt want to sit next to Candy and hear her talk about a Weasley or apologize over and over again. So instead of heading to the Great Hall, Jenny turned so she was heading towards the Owlery now. There was no point of eating when she'd see this disgusting place anyways.
Filch was already waiting outside of the Owlery as Jenny climbed the steps up to the Owlery. She sighed as he put out his hand for her wand. She sighed, taking it out of her pocket and putting it in his shaking hand. He clasped his hand around it loosely, smiling down at her, his yellow, crooked teeth gleaming.
"Maybe you'll learn next time not to get into trouble. Then your wand wouldnt be taken away" Filch said. Jenny just rolled her eyes and pushed past Filch, into the Owlery. It looked as though none of their work had even effected the place. Fresh poo had recoated every corner of the area they had cleaned. Jenny let out a moan as she grabbed the mop out of the bucket.
"Why oh why do I have such a temper..." Jenny asked the mop, starting again over the floor.
"I could ask the same question" a voice said, causing Jenny to scream and search her pockets for her wand to find that it was not there. She spun around, her heart pounding faster than before as she noticed Oliver Wood standing in the door way, a smirk covering his face.
"Fuck, Wood! Did you need to do that?" Jenny said, running a hand through her hair.
"Yes" he answered simply. "Not eating dinner, I take it? Good. You need to lose a few pounds"
Jenny's jaw dropped as she stared at him, looking down at her body. She never thought of herself as fat.
"You know what, Wood?!" Jenny asked, just about to start up again before Oliver put up a hand, taking the remaining mop.
"Start mopping, Schultz. We dont have time to hear you defend yourself" Oliver drawled, putting his mop to the floor as he scrubbed. Jenny growled slightly as she started to mop the floor, the hooting of the owls filling the silence.
"Percy is going on a date with your mate, I hear" Oliver said. Jenny stiffened, not liking the idea of her best friend going out with a Gryffindor.
"Worse choice of her life...Weasley tell you?" Jenny asked, looking up to see a smirk on Oliver's face. He shook his head, one hand in his pocket. Jenny's eyebrows crumbled as she saw a piece of parshment in Oliver's hand.
"No...you and Packle did" Oliver said. Realization dawned on Jenny's face as she could see her own hand writing on the parshment.
"Where did you get that" Jenny asked, trying to stay as calm as possible. Oliver looked smugly down at the parshment.
"Well, on your table. Seems Packle left it there" Oliver said, reading the words allowed "He may be attractive but hes absolutely HORRIBLE. Couldnt be talking about me, could you?"
"Found the need to read me and Candy's private conversation did you?" Jenny said defensively, setting her mop on the wall as owls flew around.
"Yes I did, actually. You could've been plotting to kill all of man-kind" Oliver said, putting his own mop propped up against the wall.
"Oh, save your breath, Wood" Jenny hissed, knowing she didnt have her wand in her pocket as she slowly approached Oliver, Oliver doing the same to her.
"Wouldn't bother to waste it on you, Schultz" Oliver said, them being extremely close now.
"Good, why bother talking to me then, hm?!" Jenny asked, her eyes piercing Olivers.
"Because I just like to bug you" Oliver answered, his voice just as piercing as Jennys eyes.
"Are you sure its not that you just like me?" Jenny teased. Before Jenny could react, Olivers lips brushed across hers. She blinked in shock as she looked up at him. His eyes were wide in shock at his own action. He backed away slowly, not sure as to what Jenny's reaction would be but she seemed frozen on the spot. She couldnt seem to move. They were fighting one minute and the next...
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" Jenny bursted suddenly, causing Oliver to jump. His mouth opened, not sure as to what to say.
"I-I...." Oliver stuttered, unable to say anything.
"I swear, you EVER pull something like that again, Wood, you'll wish you were never born" Jenny hissed, grabbing her mop as she turned away from Oliver, going up a level and starting to mop up there, being as far away from Oliver has possible.
On the bottom level, Oliver had not moved from his spot, staring down at the ground. How was it humanly possible for someone to get that close to Jennifer Schultz? How was it possible that Oliver Wood had kissed Jenny Schultz? Why had he done it? He did not even know the answer to this. Was it just an adrenalin pump?
"The sun's setting, Schultz" Oliver warned. Less than a minute later, Jenny came down the stairs from the upper level of teh Owlery and shoved her mop into Oliver's chest, brushing off her hands as she walked out of the Owlery. Oliver sighed as he set both of the mops in the bucket and wiped his hands on his cloak. He stared out one of the Owlery windows and watched as Jenny stopped outside the enterance to Hogwarts and touched her lips, shaking her head vigorously. Oliver smirked to himself, letting out a small chuckle as he stroked one of the owls, leaving the Owlery.
