The Thief That Stole My Heart : Part 1
Chapter 2 : The Thief That Stole My Heart Part 2
This is a Harvest Moon DS Cute mini-story! Make sure to read Part 1 first ;) I was bored again. Here's the next page! Enjoy!
"Claire.. you can't let it get to you! It's just a simple kiss on the cheek...no need to jump to conclusions..." I distractedly scrubbed the bowl in my hands while staring at the suds. Just thinking about last night made my ears turn pink and my cheeks burn! Why was I getting worked up over one guy? Had I really fallen in love with him, like he had said? I furiously slammed the china bowl in the cupboard, ignoring the loud clanging. Impossible, I can't be that naive.. right? True love at first sight was the only kind of junk you heard in fairy tales. And I had long grown out of them the same time I had surpassed the Barney stage.
*
"Luminaaa~" I called, lightly knocking on the manor door. Inside I heard a musical melody abruptly stop, and then found myself face to face with the young girl herself. "Hey! You grew." I greeted, eyeing the top of her head.
"Yeah, whoopee, now I'll actually look fifteen." she replied, rolling her eyes.
I laughed and followed her inside. Lumina was always sour when it came to her height, sometimes people didn't even believe me when I said we were the same age. "Was that you playing the piano? It was beautiful."
"Actually, it was my instructor." I followed her gesture to a man standing at the piano, his back to us. He had silver hair tied in a tiny ponytail, and wore a white button down shirt and black dress-pants. "He came over to help me a little today."
"Nice to meet you, I'm Claire." I said politely, holding out my hand to him. He turned around, and almost bumped into the piano as he swiveled on the spot to reply. Those eyes....the silver hair...it was the guy from yesterday?!
*
We stared at each other, shocked. But he was the first one to compose himself, and took my hand. It was kind of cold, and I flinched at the contact. "Nice to meet you... Claire, was it? I'm Skye."
I didn't say anything, I just moved my gaze from the thief to Lumina, it was obvious she had no idea who he really was. Not to mention the danger she was in.
When I felt I had stared long enough I finally asked, "How long have you been teaching Lumina?"
He gave me a smile, "About a month, she's a very fast learner."
Lumina straightened her posture, grinning.
"How old are you, if I may ask?" I tried to keep my tone respectful.
"Seventeen." Skye answered, smirking.
"A bit young for this kind ofbusiness aren't you?" And I wasn't talking about playing the piano.
"He plays like a pro though, he really does!" Lumina interrupted batting her eyelashes at him.
Good grief.
"Thank you miss Lumina, I'm flattered." It was then--when Lumina was blushing down at her feet-- that Skye gave me a very distinct look. Adon't-meddle kind of look.
"Can I use the bathroom?" I asked, suddenly. Lumina gave me a curious face, but nodded and stepped back to let me pass.
*
I examined my face in the mirror. Flushed, excited, anxious. "Stupid! Why are you so happy?" I growled pressing my cheeks together, "This is the guy that stole from Lumina!" But my heart rate still beat fast, to my disappointment. I ignored it, and exited the room. It was then that I was suddenly pushed against the wall, my arms above my head. Skye's innocent mask seemed to have been put away at the moment, and he smiled with predatory eyes.He lowered his face just above mine, a few inches away, and waited for my responce.
"What's your motive for becoming the piano teacher??" I questioned, struggling against his grip.
He chuckled darkly, "I'm sorry but, aren't you being a little too dumb?"
"Wha!?" I gawked, surprised. "Why you---!!"
He avoided my knee heading for the area between his legs, and added, "It's obvious, isn't it? I'll give you a little time, Lumina went into the kitchen to make something for us to eat."
I quietly went through theclues andeventsin my head... over and over.. until I got the answer.
"You need to know the mansion inside and out." I concluded, meeting his amused gaze.
"Exactly...." he praised, I felt his breath grace the side of my neck. Keeping my hands secure under his fingers, he tilted my chin up, smiling. "Pretty and quick."
My lips pressed together forming a thin line, I felt my back shiver. Averting my gaze to the window I asked, "So what do I have to do with this? Why are you telling /me/ these things?"
He touched the side of my face, where the bandaid still was. "I don't know, it's just fun talking to you I guess...." Skye forced me to look at him again, "And if you know what's good for you, you probably should keep it to yourself. I'm a gentle men, but if I have to, I will do what I must."
I looked down at my shoes, refusing to look into those irresistable eyes. "Why? What will happen?"
He ran his finger over the bandaid and pressed my hands harder into the wall.
"Bad things."
