"But the beauty of grace is that it makes life not fair..." He sings to you in the slight shower of rain falling in the park. Guitar in hand. You both are sitting on the wooden bench, not caring if you get wet, looking up into the moon shining between the clouds.
*
"Today is the day, y'know." you remind him. today is the day you move away from him, far away. Once your parents found out about him they wouldn't have their daughter dating, much less loving such a person that he is.
*
"Cause i've been housing all this doubt and insecurities and
I've been locked inside that house all the while you hold the key
And i've been dying to get out and that might be the death of me
And even though, there's no way in knowing where to go, promise i'm goin' because
I gotta get outta here." he continues to sing.
*
"I never thought you would actually sing to me one day..." you say drifing deep into thoughts.
"I was hoping to change your mind..."
"I never made up my mind, Devon." He puts the wet guitar down and turns to look at you.
"I like your hair wet, it gets really wavy that way." He says. You sigh.
"I love the rain, the lightning, the thunder... it feels like home..." You say, letting the rain splash on your face as you looked up. "Y'know, i never really got the chance to look at the sky... i never trusted anyone enough to leave me alone while i lay on the grass and watch the clouds shift."
*
Devon takes you in his arms and you rest your head in his chest and closed your eyes.
"________ i--"
"You don't have to force yourself to say it." You try to break free from his arms, but he only held you closer when you pulled. You sigh in frustration.
"Look, i'm sorry i didn't say it before... i just... what if...." he kept on trailing off, unable to gather his thoughts, he took a deep breath. "_________, i love you--" you cut him off again.
"No," it only came out as a whisper. You cleared your throat and tried again. "Devon... isn't it clear we're not... going to be together... ever."
He shifted you so you were both staring into eachother's eyes. He was trying to glare at you, though frustrated, but his voice was stern. "No. No? No! Damn it all to hell! Can't you just see that i love you? Can't you at least try..." his voice cracked, he looked down. After a long moment of silence he gave up and let go of you. "Okay, i get it." He tightened his eyes and turned away, looking like he was in pain. "I'm fine..."
"Devon... what do you get?"
"I..... you don't love me, that's fine. As long as--"
"Shut up!" you barked angrily at him. "I do love you. What in hell makes you think that i don't..." you said, anger turning to sadness. You stared right into hisdark brown eyes and stroked his cheek, your hand shaking. You opened your mouth to say something when his lips crashed into your's. You're eyes widened in shock but you calmed down and kissed him back. You wrapped your arms around his wet neck while he wrapped his around your waist. He gently pushed you down until your back was against the wooden bench and he was on top of you. You felt his tongue lick your bottom lip, asking for entrance, which you didn't give him. You felt his lips frown when you declined and you smirked. Frustrated, he bit your bottom lip making you gasp in pain, and he took the oportunity to slip his tongue into your mouth. You couldn't stop yourself from moaning as his tongue explored every inch of your mouth and 'played' with your's. You moved your hands down to his stomache and massaged his abs, making him moan. His hands lifted up your shirt and you felt him trying to unhook your bra.
"W-wait!" you gasped breathless, breaking the kiss. You panted a little before you spoke. "D-Devon... i... don't think i'm ready, we're ready." you corrected yourself. "i--" it was his turn to cut you off.
"I'm sorry... i got carried away..." he apologized. "Your moving away, if we did this... it would look like i abandoned you... and that's the last thing i want you to think." He said with his head down as he got off of you.
*
You stared at him, with his head down and in the rain, your lover looked very depressing. He smilied a sad smile. "Look, even the roses are crying for us."
You turned your head to see what he was looking at; a blue rose right infront of him, that hadn't been there before. It looked beautiful sparkling in the moonlight, standing tall out of the short grass. You wrapped your arms around him and rested your head on his chest again, closing your eyes.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
