"Holy shit!" Ike shouted as he sat up in his bed. He covered his nose and got up to close the window. His shivered as he stoodin frontof the closed window. The night was windy, sending warm waves of air in to the room. However tonight there was an odd smell that rolled in with the summer nightbreeze. Ike just stood there for a moment looking out the window. His eyes searched through the city. The smell was still there. Ike bit his lower bottom lip and walked out his room. He made his way through the dark hallway. He heard a hiss come from behind him. He stood still in his place and slowly turned around. There was nothing there, but the hissing was still there. A cross between a quizzical look and a frown appeared on his face. Then a voice in the back of his mind told him to stop being an idiot and look down. And he did. He couldn't make out what it was at first, but then he soon realized that it was just Tabby. A pet cat he had taken in after his grandmother died. He squat down andstretchedout a hand. Motioning the cat to come over. But the closer his hand got the more the cat hissed. When he was just inches away from it a quick orange blur came out andstruckhis hand. "Well fine then!" Heshoutedas he stormed to the bathroom. He placed both hands at either side of the sink. He closed his eyes andbeganto inhale. Then a familiar stench invaded his nose once more. The rising anger that he had kept since the start of the yesterday could be contained no more. Ike screamed at the top of his lungs and bashed his head into themirror.
Ike dropped down on to the white tiles. He moved back till he he hit the wall. He looked at the broken pieces of mirror as an overwhelming feeling ofdepressionand hopelessness came over him. 'The morning hadstartedout fine.' He thought as he felt tears at the edge of his eyes. After a moment ofsilence. He let out a soft sob, then another and another till he felt streams of of tears ran down his face. 'Where the fuck did it all go wrong?' He sat there for what seemed like an hour. Then he remembered. "Andrea." He gluped. 'Thats right. She broke up with me. T-Then.. ' It was just to much for him. So he got up and decided to wash his face. As he washed his face he paused to look at what he had done to the mirror. He stopped cold.
The mirror was stillintact. He looked down at the sink, no running water. He looked around in panic. Once more he tried to go through thescenesof the previous day, of what went wrong. Ike sat cross legged on the cool tile floor. A picture of his friend Henry came into mind. He was drinking and so was Ike. To get his mind off Andrea they decided to go out to the lake and drink for awhile. They just sat there for a few hours, talking andlaughingtheir heads off. Thentheyhad fallen asleep. Ike had woken up first and tried to wake Henry up, but then Ike got tired oftrying,so he left him there. "Right?"
