Machi looked up at the sound of a door opening and slamming in the next room, alarmed. She quickly bent and turned the water off before blindly groping for her towel just beyond the shower curtain. Being unemployed, she was the only one here at this time of day, and it was much to early for either Hono or Kitty to be home. After drying her face quickly, she wrapped the towel around her and stepped out of the shower noiselessly, listening for signs of movement. There was some rustling in the kitchen, and the opening of cupboards and the fridge were now decipherable.
Jeevas.
She sighed. What was that oaf doing here at this time of the day, rummaging around like that?!
"Oy, Knockamaura? Yamanashi? Anyone here?" he called casually. Machi scowled as she heard the grin in his voice. Her thoughts of hatred for him then were interrupted by the turning of the bathroom’s doorknob.
"Jeevas!!" She cried too loudly. "Don’t open the door!!" She shrank into the wall, and the turning stopped.
"Okay, God, just making sure someone was here...You know the apartment door was left unlocked right?" he leaned against the opposite side of the door and waited for a reply.
"Hai, get that on your way out."
"If you think I’m leaving so soon, I hate to disappoint you, but..."
"But you haven’t eaten any of our food yet, right?" She rolled her eyes and sighed, already knowing the answer.
"You know it, babe." He laughed loudly.
"You’re such an oaf."She snapped, brushing her hair quickly when he tried to open the door for a second time.
"Stop!" She held it shut, and heard him snicker.
"Why? There wouldn’t be much to see anyway. It’s so much easier to insult each other in person, I’m getting impatient." Machi’s face grew red at his first remark, and she pulled her clothes on quickly before throwing open the door. She made the mistake of glaring up at him, and was instantly wishing she hadn’t. She found herself instantly staring into his dark blue eyes, unsure of how much time was passing. Matt gave her a puzzled look.
"Knockamaura?" he waved a gloved hand in front of her face. "Maaach?" She blinked and turned away.
"Well, oafish pig? Are you going to mooch us of our food or what?!" She hissed as he snickered again.
"If you insist,"
His grin met her scowl, and he turned to the kitchen, rummaging yet again through the girl’s food supply.
