Axel was still as stone as he sat on his bed, sulking and filled with sorrow.
Neither Roxas nor me made a movement, although we knew that he realize we were here because a wall of fire separated of from him.
Roxas takes a step inside the heated room and I follow in unison, closing the door.
Axel had his face covered by his hands. I knew already how he was feeling and how his facial expression was looking.
I was waiting for someone to speak.
There was no sound though.
“Axel.” I say so softly I was surprised that he even heard me over the blaze of the fire.
“Go away.” He says between breaths. The heat of the fire increased but we still stood where we were. I grab Roxas’s hand and I purse us forward going closer and closer towards the flaming wall. I raise my hand as we stand 5ft away from the blazing barrier.
A barrier suddenly surrounds us and we walk through the wall and we were standing in front of a glum Axel.
I let go of Roxas’s hand and it moves reflectively towards Axel head. I lay a hand on his head and my hand woven through his hair. “Axel.” I repeat again in the same, low yet hopeful voice. I was hoping he would have enough courage to talk to Roxas, or even me.
He lets on of his hands move away from his teary face and it grabs my hand in his hair.
He brings it down to his face and I feel his lips touch the palm of my hand.
Then it hit me.
I felt like everything came down on me. I fall to my knees and I begin to cry.
The feelings came so quickly that I didn’t even understand at first. I was taken off-guard by my own feelings.
Then I hear someone else’s cry come in with mine. It was Roxas.
Then I heard Axel let out a muffled groan as he still had my hand to his face.
“Axel.” I say again, unable to fully speak.
He then wraps his arms around me and smashes me against him
I was also a bit taken off by this but I quickly embrace him back.
We both didn’t say anything for a while. We knew what we were saying through these actions though. I called it, speaking through actions. We were actually showing how happy we were to see each other again. No matter if Axel was dead.
Axel keeps holding me and I begin to wonder if Roxas needed a hug.
Him.
Just standing there crying, and no one keep him warm?
To make him feel put together. Even though it was hard.
“Ash.” Axel yells out. He squeezes me tighter, and I smile. I was happy being in his embrace.
Even though I knew that I could always come and see him here. It felt like a moment ago.
Like I was never going to see him again.
I feel a thud beside me and another body smashing against me.
So I guess Roxas is also in Axel’s grasp. We are all in a group hug.
“Rox.” I say, trying to let my arms respond and find him, but I couldn’t control myself.
I then felt Roxas grab my hand and I intertwine my fingers with his.
Axe laws whimper and had his face covered in my hair, rocking us back and forth.
I guess this was harder on him than it was on us.
I also guess that he is trying to battle something within him as well.
Seconds passed and turned into minutes.
We still didn’t say much of a comment.
After about 15 minutes. I had to say something.
“Axel. I-uh” I say, still lost at words. He squeezes me tighter, saying weakly.
“Sorry.” I couldn’t accept it. He didn’t do anything.
Roxas moaned out. I quickly quieted both of them, and then I began to feel like a mother to both of them. Me, trying to quiet the both of them with sweet comforting words, but I can’t hold myself together.
“Axel.” I say, pulling away from him. He doesn’t follow my actions though. He continues to look down, so I had to grab his chin firmly with my right hand and I made him look me dead in the eyes. He looks at me, stilling my hand on his face. He slightly kisses it again and I cringe feeling the sorrow ness come again. To distract myself, I force a smile.
Failed though.
“You have nothing to be sorry about Axe.” I say, as tears well up again. He pushes my hand tighter against his cheek. “It’s not your fault.” I say, and he continues to stare deep into my eyes. “Kenji did this. It was a setup. Riku had gone through the same thing and also 11 of the Organization members.” Axel chuckles slightly and I was happy that he found the Organization part amusing, but then the small smirk went back to sorrow ness.
I nod. “You have nothing to do with it. Please don’t make it harder on yourself.”
He looks down, I sigh.
“Please.” I murmur. Roxas stands up and runs to the door.
My head shoots up to Roxas and he runs out the door.
I look over to Axel who mirrored my reaction to Roxas, watching him run outside.
“What happened?” I say, between sniffles.
Axel pulls me towards him again. “I’m not sure. He is really down with everything.”
I nod. I sit by Axel and he smiles weakly at me. “I’m happy though. Because he has you.”
I nod, smiling softly. “Yeah. And I have him.”
He nods. “What happened?” I ask. He looks down.
“Well… before it all happened… I was talking to Demyx in my room then I walk over to look outside. I was telling him everything that was happening and he was taking it all in. As I turn from the window to look at him, he was on the ground and a note was by his body. Then I see the ball of darkness and it explodes. A bomb.”
I nod, looking out the window. “Yeah. The same thing happened to Riku. He’s dead too.” Axel nods, sighing. “You should go talk to Roxas.” I look at him and he smiles. “I will be here when you are finished. Just go talk to him.” I stand up, nodding.
I walk over to the door and I turn back to look at Axel. He smiles slowly then I walk outside.
(Sora’s P.O.V.)
I end up in Ashley’s house in the living room. Hikari and Hikaru sigh, sitting down on the sofa. I was to uptight about what happened so I just stood frozen where I was.
Hikaru sighs and pats the spot on the sofa beside her, inviting to sit down. I walk over to her and sit down, looking down. I slowly try relax my breathing. I felt like I was about to start hypervenalating. “Calm down Sora.” Hikaru says. I look at him and I felt like I should punch him for that.
How come he wasn’t going nuts from this? How come I was the only one taking this out of hand?
Did they even care about Ashley now? Hikari looked very angry with Ashley in the forest. Did they not like her anymore? Were they going to abandon her now?
“What is happening?” I hear myself say.
It was silent.
“The darkness took her.” Hikaru says, looking down sighing. I nod. “Are… you mad?”
I ask. Hikari chuckles. “Mad? I am more than made I am angry with him. Kenji.”
I nod. “Oh. I thought you were mad with Ashley.” She laughs. “Why would I be mad with her? She didn’t do anything.”
I nod, looking at the floor. I never felt so awkward now. There was so much tension in the air.
It was palpable. You could taste it.
“So… what do we do now?” I ask. Hikaru sighs. “I… don’t know.” I stiffen.
He didn’t know what to do. I never heard them say that, so discouraged.
“There is no way to stop Kenji?!?!” I yell. Hikari shrugs her shoulders. “He is acting different now.”
I look at her confused. Hikaru looks at me. “He is killing everyone that gets in his way. He has changed since the last time of our encounter.” I nod, looking down.
“Oh…” We sat there, quiet.
(Kenji’s P.O.V.)
I smirk as I warp back to the base. Xemnas was a lot of help to me. Now, it is time to discard of the trash.
Xemnas and Xigbar were sitting on the ground. Xigbar was laughing about something and Xemnas look like he was on the verge of committing suicide.
“Finally,” Xemnas says jumping up and walking over to me. “You are back. I couldn’t stand another minute here with him.” Xemnas snaps at me. I laugh taking a step back. “Calm down.” I say. He exhales and nods. “What do we do next?” He asks me. I smirk at him.
“We need to discard some items.” He nods. “Okay. What.” I laugh and I take some steps away from him.
I hold up my hand and I snap my fingers.
A chortle sound comes from Xigbar and a shrieking sounds break through the silence.
“What was that?” Xemnas says, turning around to look at Xigbar, but frozen in his spot.
I smirk, showing my teeth. “What’s the matter… Xemnas?” I say, walking towards him. He jumps as I touch his shoulder He yelps, and I chuckle evilly. “Did you see something bad?” I laugh as he drops to the ground, panting for air. I walk over to the dead Xigbar, and I stare at the body. I laugh and kick him. I never did like his humorous side.
I bend down in front of Xemnas as he slowly breaths. “What… are you doing?” He says between breaths.
I laugh. “Getting rid of items that will cause a problem later.”
He lays his head on the ground and he coughs out some blood. I laugh.
“Hmm… it was so fun to have you work with me, but I need to move on.”
I laugh again as Xemnas reaches over to grab my arm. “I could be nice and let you in on a little secret.” Xemnas coughs again and I laugh. “What… secret…” He murmurs.
His eyes slowly begin to close, but he fought his death away.
I lean down by him. “Well… you know Ashley’s baby.” He cringes and then nods, looking me into the eyes. I laugh. I lean down and whisper it into his ear.
I pull away and his eyes widen in shock.
He must have cared so dearly about this tiny subject, because he actually moved his hand and it actually stretched and he grabs my shirt. “How dare you.” He snarls.
I look him, smirking. “Why yep.” I say. He snarls again and drops my shirt. I laugh has he tries to stand up. I stand up and I kick him in his stomach. He falls to the ground.
I walk over to a slightly broken window and he groans. “Give me back my child.” He yells.
I couldn’t help but laugh at his comment.
“My baby.” I say, repeating his words. I laugh and warp.
(Roxas’s P.O.V.)
I run down the hallway and outside towards the lake. I fall on the ground and I felt stupid for running out of the room.
I had to get do emotional and run out. I look up through my teary eyes and I see the cave. The cave that leads to my meadow. I stand up and run there.
I don’t know why, but I felt like running. I just wanted to run, run for my life.
Just runaway. Get away from the problems.
I wanted to keep some things though, before I ran.
If I could have one wish. I would want Ashley.
I would take Ashley and I would run. She was the one thing I abousluety wanted in life.
I would do anything to make her happy. I just wanted her.
I run through the door leading to the meadow and I run by the lake.
I sat down and continued to cry. The thought of being with Ashley made me more at ease but then reality hit me and I remember that she was with Sora
I began to cry all over again. If I had one wish,
I would want to be with her.
I know she loves me, but it will never happen.
Never.
(Ashley’s P.O.V.)
I run down the hallway and I run down the stairs. “What are you doing here?” I hear Riku yell. I look up to see Riku yelling at someone in a black cloak. “Riku!” I yell. He looks up and smiles. I run over to him and he gives me a quick hug. “Sorry.” He says. I smile. “Don’t worry about it.” I say, rubbing my red stinging eyes.
I look over to the cloaked person and I stick my hand out. Darkness covers my hand and the stranger steps back. I tilt my head to the side, and I walk over to him.
Taking of his hood.
“Xemnas…?” I say, looking at him confused. He frowns. “Ashley?” He says. I step back, looking at him.
“What are you doing here?” I ask. He sighs, looking down. “I’m…dead. Kenji killed me and I ended up here.” Riku steps back and laughs. “You think we are supposed to believe you.” Xemnas sticks his hands up. “I know. I did some things and I am sorry. Just please listen to me.” I walk over to him and Riku grunts.
I stand in front of Xemnas and he steps back a little. I look deep into his eyes and he looks back at me. “He’s telling the truth.” I whisper. Riku walks over to me and Xemnas sighs. “What!?!?” Riku says. I nod. “I can sense if he is lying or not. When someone is lying. Their heartbeat is different.” Riku looks at me astonished. “When could you do that technique?” I shrug my shoulders. “I guess when I turned into this.” I look at my hands and I sigh, looking back at Xemnas.
“Thank you Ashley.” Xemnas says. I nod. “I can’t talk to you now. I need to see Roxas. Go to your room and wait until I get back so we can talk.” He nods and walks towards the steps.
I look at Riku. “I need you to go tell everyone here that we have Xemnas here. Maybe he can help us find out what Kenji haves in store for us.” Riku nods, and runs upstairs.
I walk outside and I close my eyes. I needed to look for Roxas.
Where though.
I hear someone crying. Well is sounded kind of far but it was Roxas’s voice. He had to be close. I run towards the cave and to the door where his meadow was.
I continue to run and I notice that I was crying again. “Roxas.” I yell out. Roxas looks up and he stands up, running away from me. I got sadder about this, so I ran faster. Before I knew it, I was on top of Roxas. I crawl off of him and he leans up looking at me. He stands up and walks over to the tree sitting down. “Do you need something?” he asks me. I laugh looking at him. Do I need something. Come on Roxas really. That comment made me mad.
I walk over t ohm and I sit beside him. He looks at me and he begins to cry again, smashing his face against my chest. I smile and I wrap my arms around him.
“Roxas… I love you.” He doesn’t say anything for a while.
“I love you too.” He murmurs. I stroke his hair.
Even though we couldn’t be together unless destiny wanted me too.
I would still love him, oh so much
