I rode my motorcycle along the roads of La Push, Washington. I don't remember how long I'd been riding, just that I never wanted to stop. My long brown curls flew behind my as I made a turn. I saw a guy on a motorcycle. Then everything went black. I woke up to see two bug brown eyes staring down into my blue ones. I used my hands to try adn push myself up. Pain shot through my arm. I gasped and grabbed my arm, falling back down in the process. I looked up at the guy who I'm guessing had hit me. "Hi, umm, what happened exactly?" My head hurt really bad. "Well, I was coming around the bend, and I didn't see you. When I did see you, I tried the brake, but I had already hit you. You went flying off your bike, luckily you landed in the grass and your bike survived. I think you broke your arm, and you hit your head kinda hard too." The guy said," I'm Jacob by the way." He smiled. I didn't want to know what I looked like right now in front of this really hott guy. He was kneeling beside me, but I could tell that he was tall. He had shaggy, kind of long balck hair that fell into his eyes. He had russet colored skin and of course, those big brown eyes I had woken up to. I sat up again, this time not using my left hand. I looked at Jaocb. "I'm Tara." "I'm so sorry, I didn't see you. Of course you shoudl learn to ride better, but I'm still really sorry." "Its ok, really." I said, " It was an accident." "Ok, lets get you to a hospital. Umm, don't you need to call your parents?" "No, I sort of....ran away from home." Why was I telling a complete stranger this? "Oh. Well. I know how you feel. So lets go." He helped me up and we went on his motorcycle to the hospital. We put my bike near the woods so that it wouldn't get hit, and were going to get it later. The doctor said I only broke my arm, and didn't have a concussion, but I should take headache medicine. The accident could have been a lot worse. I could have died, but I didn't so I was happy. Plus, I got to meet a cute boy out of it. We went back and I got my bike. My arm was in a cast. "You're not going to be able to ride that. Wait here and I'll take it back for you." He saw my worried expression and said, " Don't worry I'm just bringing it back to my garage. I'll come back I promise." He got on the bike and sped off. He would come back. I know he will. 15 minutes later he was back. "Ok, so since you obviously have nowhere to go, I was wondering if you wanted to stay with me and my dad. He doesn't mind, and these woods aren't the safest place at night." Wow, a cute boy just asked me to spend the night at his house. That was even better than I had expected. "Um, Sure." I smiled, " Thank you." "No problem, I mean I am the one who hit you." I laughed. He was easy to get along with. We took his motorcycle back. I held on to his waist, which was very muscular, and he drove. It didn't seem to bother him that my cast was rubbing up against his bare stomach. We stopped at a small house on the Quilette Reservation I remembered passing before the accident. It looked homey, and when we pulled up, a large man in a wheelchair rolled out to us. "You must be the girl Jacob hit." He said in a gruff voice, " I'm Billy Black." He stuck out his hand for em to shake. "I'm Tara." I said as I shook his hand. " Thank you for letting me stay with you." "It's no probelm, Jake seems to really like you." "Dad...." Jacob grimaced whe I looked over and smiled at him. Billy laughed and led us inside. They ordered pizza, which I gladly ate and watched football. I wasn't a big sports fan, but Jacob's company was nice, and he was laso really warm. I laid my head gainst his hsoulder and started falling asleep. I felt him pick me up and take me to a room. I kept my eyes shut tight, liking the way his strong arms felt. He layed me on a bed, adn walked out of the room. I fell asleep quickly, not dreaming which was strange for me. Around maybe 1 in the morning I woke up sudden;y, and heard muffled voices on the other side of the door. Why would anyone be up this late? I looked around the room. It was small, and the bed too up mot of the pace. It was also simple and kind of messy so I assumed this was Jacob's room. He gave up his room for me? A girl he barely knew? I tip-toed towards the door. I know eavesdropping is wrong, but i wanted to kno why they were up so late, and if it was about me. "It can't be her, I barely know her." Jacob's voice said. "It doesn't matter, all it takes is one look." That was Billy's gruff voice. "So, how do I tell Tara, a girl I barely know, that I've imprinted on her?" His voice asked, frustrated," I can't just go up to her and tell her that she's pretty much much my soul mate, my other half. She would just get freaked." "Not if you tell her why that is." "I can't just tell some girl that I'm a werewolf!" He almost yelled, " She'll either think I'm insane, or run away screaming." "Take her to a bon fire then, " Billy's voice sugested, " Let us tell her the stories, and then later show her that thier true. She won't be scared then." "I don't know." He said, his voice turned sad, " After Bella, I odn;t think I could handle rejection again." I was still leaning against the door listening. Werewolves? Were they serious? They seemed like it. And what was Jacob talking about impriniting? Soul mates, other half? I was his other half? He knew that just by looking at me? It sounded weird, but I guess it made sense since no normal person would let a complete stranger stay in their house. Or let them sleep in their bed. And who was this Bella person? I was slightly jealous, but I also felt so bad for Jacob. She obviously broke his heart. The sadness in his voice made me want to give him a hug and tell him everything was okay. I heard footsteps come towards the door. I panicked and started to run towards the bed, but I tripped over osmething and fell. I was just getting on my knees when Jaocb came through the door, staring at me. "Oh! uuum, hi." I said trying to make it seem like I hadn't just been eavesdropping. No such luck. "Did you just hear everything we were talking about?" He asked. "Ummm, no, I was just getting up to go uum get a drink, and I uuum, tripped?" I said, lying badly. "So what do you think?" He asked cautiously, ignoring me, " Other than that me and my dad are probably insane." "I odn;t think your insane." I blurted out, " I mean I think its kind of weird, but it would explain a lot." I said looking down. He knelt down beside me. " Explain what?" He asked. "Why I like you so much." I confessed, still looking down. He pulled my face up to meet his. "I like you too." He said smiling. Then he kissed me. He had sat down by then and pulled me into his lap, still holding my face. I wrapped both my arms around his enck, forgetting about the cast. He didn't seem to feel it though. His warmth spread through me as the kiss deepened. He pulled away first. "There are more of you?" I asked astonished. He nodded and kissed me again, on the floor. It wasn't perfect, but it was close.
"Tommorrow you can meet the pack." He said happily.
